About Caroline Wallrock

Charlie and I are antique dealers and we have four children, one of whom helped decorate and furnish this wing of the house. We've travelled widely and lived overseas but always return to this beautiful part of the world.

Why Caroline Wallrock chose New Forest

Tweed House and Cloisters have a saucy history. Tweed House was built by Captain Symonds for his new bride Lucinde Touzi in 1815. They had met in the Caribbean as the result of incredible adventures. Captain Symonds rescued Lucinde from the siege of San Domingo, brought her back to England and married her once she came of age.

Later owners, the Moens, were kidnapped on their honeymoon in Sardinia. Mrs Moen was released and the people of Boldre chipped in to raise the ransom to free Mr. Moen.

Amazing! Great property, beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

We booked the property for our fathers 70th birthday and it gave us a rare chance to get the immediate family all together. The house was amazing, full of character, beautiful grounds, spacious, clean and warm. In total there were nine of us, and two dogs! The property was perfect! In the daytime we used the tennis courts and in the evening we could all sit around the massive dining room table and then the lounge. Caroline the owner was very accommodating. Can't fault anything, and would highly recommend. We will be returning!

A fabulous Christmas at Cloisters

  • 5 of 5

We were a party of 7 staying for 3 nights from Christmas eve until the 27th Dec. The house is great for a celebration and the decorations in the main lounge and hallway were great. Caroline was very kind, offering to let us visit the property before the let, to make sure that the bed configuration was suitable and on Christmas eve we had a warm welcome from Lorraine, the housekeeper, who ensured that we had all that we needed. The house was warm and there was enough hot water for all. The hallway is very grand and the two double bedrooms are huge. The twin bedrooms were large enough and the separate games room was great for the kids when they wanted to escape. They also had an hour on the tennis court on boxing day! Cooking on Christmas day was a treat with two ovens and five burners and the fridge freezer in the kitchen was big enough to hold all the food as there was an additional fridge in the laundry room for drinks. We also had a visit from the local wildlife which we had been advised might happen - two very friendly robins flew in the front door to say hello! The location, less than 10 mins drive from Lymington is great. Close enough to get additional food supplies from waitrose and walk around the town and harbour, it is a house for all seasons. Thank you Caroline and Lorraine for making us so welcome.

Wonderful stay, wonderful location and wonderful house

  • 5 of 5

We would like to say thank you for a wonderful weekend stay at the gorgeous Cloisters.

The house was the perfect setting and size for our group celebration and the children were very well catered for with the separate toy/playroom that was very well equipped for them.

A huge thank you to Caroline for helping with all our queries and arrangements.

Overall I would highly recommend a visit.

Cloisters is an incredibly spacious and well-appointed wing of a larger home. Self-contained with two enormous double bedrooms and two reasonable twins, there's everything you need for a family stay or a weekend with friends.

The New Forest is one of England's gems. The rural landscape of forest and heathland is less than two hours from London but seems a world away. The New Forest ponies graze on the common heathland and are joined by donkeys, cattle, and even pigs in the autumn. An extensive network of walking and bicycle trails make the area easy to explore. Minutes away are beaches along the Solent. Lymington is home to a vibrant boating community. The Isle of Wight is easily reachable by ferry. The New Forest is easily accessible by car or train. Or sail into Lymington.
