About Laura Holtzman
We are "nomads" who have lived all over the country.....before having 2 kids and afterwards; able to travel all summer now and come "home" to Hilton Head Island. Met the best and neatest folks we've ever had a chance to meet so we feel very blessed. Although we live here "part-time" we consider this our home and glad the folks we have rented to have taken such good care of it during their visits.
Laura Holtzman purchased this House in 2002
Why Laura Holtzman chose North Forest Beach
Only 2 blocks from ocean, but in a laid-back, friendly neighborhood; large backyard. We started with a "lovely" swamp of a backyard, but quickly got to work to create a true oasis for us and guests! with good sized pool (can be heated); standalone 37-jet hot tub; and lots of different sitting/ dining/tanning areas for all guests along with grill.

Close to the beach with a wonderful backyard
We really enjoyed our Thanksgiving weekend at this house. It is two short blocks from the beach and within easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants of Coligny Plaza. We were able to rent bikes there, and explore the nearby trails and neighborhoods. The kitchen had the utensils we needed to fix our Thanksgiving dinner, and a table large enough to accommodate our family and the meal. We also enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit on our last night there--a great way to end our visit!
Great location with plenty of amenities
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Laura's property. She herself was very accommodating and did her best to address any concerns before and during our stay. The home is lovely and well supplied. We stayed with another couple and 5 total children under 6 and were able to sleep everyone comfortably and forgo packing some of the usual baby equipment since it was available there. The beach was a short walk and not crowded and there was also the fabulous pool which we used everyday. The only reason I would take away half star (if that was an option) was due to the hot tub malfunctioning some (a known problem in the process of being worked on) and the crib was broken in 2 places. The house is lived in and not being in pristine condition is a fine trade off for the price and amenities and location. Overall enjoyed immensely.
Sorry this response has been delayed (due to hubby's illnesses and his passing last month);
only reason for comment is that we tried to help this large group (over our normal total of
8 adults & maybe a tot or two) to help their budget; their comment was very hurtful and we
now know we will never try to help a family with such a large number of children (.....especially when our manager told us the shape the house was left in; there was no damage to that crib
upon their arrival; and to comment about our home not being in "pristine" shape.....) We have been doing this for 17 years, so our days of
accommodating more folks/kids/babies than listed on our websites are gone. Had my hubby had not been in the ICU, we certainly would have deducted money from our $200 security deposit......but then again, we've never had to do that in 17 years. Laura Holtzman
Fabulous family beach week!
We all enjoyed staying so close to the BEST beach on HHI and having a beautifully landscaped back yard with private pool! My grandchildren loved having lunch on the shaded patio every day and the adults could enjoy the hot tub in the evening with children asleep just inside.. This is a great neighborhood for walking or riding bikes/ scooters and the short distance to Coligny makes it possible for the whole family to enjoy that unique experience. The owners are so easy to work with and really want you to feel at home - they left tips for enjoying their home as they do. It was a fabulous week - wish we could have stayed a month!
Very comfy nice place to stay
We really enjoyed our time at the home, it's pretty close to the beach and comfortably fit our family. We loved the pool and the outdoor area is amazing!
The place had a great access to the beach & the pool was a big bonus. Needed few things updated inside the house & the pictures in the website was deceiving as far as the garden was concerned. But putting all these aside we had a great time. The owners were wonderful & replied to any questions we had.
As I try to catch up on comments from our guests about our Mallard home (which we have been doing for 17 years).....had very ill hubby who passed away last month.
We work very hard on our front and backyards; replace plants very year and have learned to deal with the best ones that do well on Hilton Head Island......unfortunately, HHI was hit by hurricane Matthew, evacuated (for first time in 98 years) and we were blessed to have lesser damage than most of the homes on the Island;
our backyard was affected greatly......but we thanked the Lord that, more importantly, our home/pool/mechanical pool equipment was
spared; in time, our beautiful landscaping will
come back and our pictures will reflect (as always) reality. Laura Holtzman
The house was nice, the location great (5 minutes from the beach), and the backyard and pool were lovely. Appreciated the amenities provided, beach umbrellas and chairs and a beach wagon to transport them in. Had a great time!
Close to all that Hilton Head Island has to offer: hiking, biking, golf, tennis, miniature golf, fishing, wildlife viewing, shopping, restaurants, cinemas, museums, sightseeing, swimming, snorkleing/diving, boating, sailing, waterskiing, surfing, windsurfing, jet skiing, shelling and relaxation back at the home and around the large pool.
