Wonderful location in SW Harbor!
We enjoyed are stay immensely and will be back! Thank you!
Looking forward to welcoming you back!
Harbor Daze was a cozy, comfortable cottage
We enjoyed the cottage and the hot tub was a welcome enjoyment after our daily hikes
in Acadia Natl Park
Jane, your home is lovely and very well cared for
Perfect location and gorgeous views
We loved our stay at Harbor Daze. The kitchen was well appointed and everything was super comfy. The location was perfect. We went into Acadia National Park every day and still didn't see everything. It was nice to come back to the quietness of Southwest Harbor to unwind on the deck and enjoy the views. The hot tub to ease our sore legs after hiking was most welcome. Jane made sure we were always were taken care of and was always ready with suggestions if we needed them.
Very nice and well-appointed home. Close to Southwest Harbor center, and therefore convenient, but away from the busy hustle of Bar Harbor. The kitchen has all the necessary amenities for a short stay. The two bathrooms are clean; one located on each floor. I would only suggest that the owner put darker curtains in the top bedroom in the back--with the current white curtains, the room lightens up too early in the morning even for early risers.
Happy you enjoyed your stay in this home.....I also love sleeping in a darkened room so will definitely take your advice and replace the bedroom curtains!
A Beautiful Maine Getaway
If you've come to Maine, you're hopefully there for the unique hiking, biking, and scenic views. This house is in a great location with ample parking, walking distance to wonderful restaurants, grocery stores, coffee, and shops. The main rooms spacious open floor plan makes hanging out easy with the kitchen, living room, dining area, and outdoor patio all accessible for group or private conversations. The house is minimally but tastefully decorated and stocked. Everything you need is provided: linens, towels, soap, dishes, cookware, and even some condiments/spices during our stay. The owner is very friendly and responsive.
The bedrooms run on the smaller side, but they are loaded with beds in order to the stay comfortable for 6, but more than suitable for 10. The downstairs shower is a bit of a squeeze for anyone taller than 6', but the upstairs has a traditional bath/shower combination. The hot water is on the cooler side and doesn't last more than 2-3 showers, so make sure you get in first! The water pressure is just south of fire-hose which I greatly appreciate after a long day of outdoors.
The hot-tub is big enough to comfortably fit 4, but you may be able to get 6 if you want to get cozy. But remember, this is Maine, so your time will probably be more limited by the mosquitos than the heat of the hot tub.
Lights are thoughtfully labeled. AT&T gets good signal, but Verizon Wireless was spotty at best. Wifi was available, but the internet ranged from unusable to adequate. Late-mornings seemed to be the best time to use the service to download appropriate hiking trails. Planning hikes in the even proved nearly impossible without using AT&T phone's hot spot, so plan accordingly.
Overall our party had a great time at the house and in the area. Southwest Cycle provided exceptional service and was walkable. Little Notch provided good pastries and pizza. Sips was a favorite for coffee, brunch, and dinner.
Thanks for the great review...feed back on the internet is very helpful..i will be in touch with our provider today and have them resolve the issues you experienced as we pay for high speed internet..and we all need good fast wifi nowadays!
Great location, clean, quiet, nice views
This was the perfect place for us to stay while visiting Acadia NP. Bar Harbor would have been a terrible choice for us. SW Harbor is a nice quiet little town with enough activity that you won't get bored. The house was perfect for our needs and was well stocked with basics. Hot tub and harbor views were a nice addition. The stairs/railings are not babyproofed and a fall through the railing would be disastrous, but that would be my only minor complaint.
Very pleased you enjoyed our village and home as a base to explore the island. I try to ensure all our guests are informed of the layout of the home with online photos and communication during the booking query. As we all have young kids the owners will look into securing the handrails and added an additional baby gate for the bottom of the stairs.
This home is located in the quaint village of Southwest Harbor where you can take a stroll into town and explore unique shops, fabulous restaurants, museums, antique shops, and much more. Rent a boat locally or take the water taxi to explore the waters and islands surrounding Mount Desert Island. The cottage is also located just minutes from world-famous Acadia National Park, which offers crystal-clear lakes, sandy and rocky beaches, rocky shorelines, beautifully maintained hiking and biking carriage trails, mountains to hike or drive, and so much more. Opportunities for whale watching, boat rentals and charters, fishing, swimming, tennis, shopping, kayaking, hiking, and many more are within minutes. Other Activities: Whale watching, sightseeing at Acadia National Park, many art galleries, boat charters
