A WONDERFUL PLACE !!!!!
We stayed at the cabin the first weekend in October. Yes the driveway is steep, but we managed just fine. My family loves this place! First, I really enjoyed talking with Patti, who is very nice. The cabin was clean and well taken care of. Our dogs sure did love adventuring around the property and going down the trail and to the water. It is a beautiful area that the cabin is in, peaceful, but yet not far from Boone and other areas. We only stayed two nights and wish we would have stayed at least a week. We plan on going back to the cabin. I have recommended this place to my friends. I can't wait to go back!!!!! Patti, thanks for sharing your wonderful place!!!
Great cabin, good location and very clean
We really enjoyed our stay at Graysland Cabin. We are me, my husband and two girls ages 11 and 9. The cabin is very clean and comfortable for a family of 4. I will say the first time the driveway appears a bit daunting but once you do it, it's really not very steep and we were just fine in our sedan. Our girls planned to sleep in separate rooms but that didn't pan out, they stayed in the loft one night and the other night in the room with the pictures of the lab, which they loved. We loved that it was so close to great hiking trails and parks nearby. It's so close to Boone, Blowing Rock and surrounding areas. We didn't get out much the first day with the cold but we enjoyed our time spent inside the cabin. When the weather warmed up some, we really enjoyed the deck and the fire pit. The area is so serene and beautiful. The views from the deck of the mountains and sunset were spectacular. We really loved the tranquility offered by the cabin but being just a few minutes from Boon and Blowing Rock is great and very convenient. Our only negative (which we really can't even say a real negative, just a small note) is that when we cooked a few evenings, the kitchen lighting could be brighter. It wasn't a big deal since we didn't make any elaborate meals but some task lighting in the kitchen would help. Additionally, the downstairs bath could use a brighter light. All in all, the cabin is wonderful, so glad we stayed and our family made memories there.
Thank you for writing...I'm so glad you enjoyed the cabin...
I am heading up in September for my annual maintenance/upkeep "vacation"...
I have plans for new beds this year. I think I'll try to add some under cabinet lighting in the kitchen!!!
Thanks for the review!!!
Clean and cozy! Pet friendly!
We were so thrilled to find this cabin without a huge pet fee! My husband and I can go almost nowhere with our big dogs and wanted to visit our son for his birthday. Other family were staying at his house (his twin & family ) and the cabin was a quiet reprieve that we were grateful to retire to after travel and busy times. It was convenient to Boone and we had dinner delivered the night we arrived. It was also convenient to my son in Seven Devils. Win, win, win!
Very enjoyable experience at cabin
Really enjoyed the cabin and the setting. Convenient location to everything (restaurants, shopping, activities). Hebron falls and trail across from driveway was a highlight of our time in area. We would love to come back again sometime!
Secluded, and I like it!
Nice and secluded, roomy, nice amenities, everything you need and Patti is very attentive to your needs throughout the stay.
We really enjoyed our trip to Graysland and look forward to a return trip to do some hiking.
Very secluded area which we really enjoyed yet just a short drive to downtown Boone. The ride to and from the cabin each evening was filled with scenery and wildlife. Cabin was clean and very well maintained. Description online was spot on even down to the 4WD driveway. We will definitely look to stay here in the future
Spring, summer, winter or fall there is so much to do and see. The Blowing Rock, Lindville Falls and caverns, Grandfather mountain, the Blueridge Parkway with it's many hikes and overlooks, Tweetsie Railroad and much more! At the bottom of our driveway is a small path leading down to National forest. Boone Fork Trail (5 mile loop) including 'Hebron Falls.' Spend a day hiking our front yard!! You'll never be at a loss for something to do here. Skiing, fishing, hiking, canoeing, golfing, repelling, antiquing, biking (down the ski slopes in the summer!) and more. Main Street, Blowing Rock is approximately 4 miles away. ASU about 10 miles. Everything you could possibly want to do or see is within a 15-30 minute drive.
