About Nicola Colley
We are a family of four.
Nicola Colley purchased this Villa in 2006
Why Nicola Colley chose Chiclana de la Frontera
We initially chose this area as we fell in love with the beaches. They are many to choose from and are so clean. We bought the plot, because of the quiet location, which we thought would suit the children, they especially like the goats that are herded to different pastures every day.
What makes this Villa unique
We especially like the front porch. After a long tiring day in the sun, we love to sit in the shade with a salad and a glass of something in our hands! We also like the open plan arrangement of the living area and spacious kitchen, as that means no one feels lonely. Newly built in 2017, we have a lovely shady eating area next to the BBQ, ample for 8 people it provides a tiled table and seating over looking the pool, all under a pergola. The log fire is also something we love. We use this in the colder months, or early/late season when there is a chill in the air. This is especially lovely for toast and marshmallows.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Ideal Holiday Base
We had a thoroughly good time in this beautiful villa. Spotlessly clean, spacious, well laid out and uncluttered. The location is a little off the beaten track but none the worse for that. Neighbouring noisy dogs were sometimes a distraction we could have done without but not enough to prevent us returning.
Pool area needs finishing fence needs repairing. Villa spacious Well equipped. Good showers plenty of hot water.
20 min walk to bars and shop.
Short drive large supermarket.
30 min drive from several different beaches
Terrific 5 week stay!
Villa well located to explore the region and very well equipped.
Thank you for taking the time to rate us! Very glad you had a good time, we hope to see you again.
Spacious and relaxing
A lovely villa with a gorgeous pool. Plenty of outside areas for sun or shade. Countryside but not far from wonderful beaches. A shop and restaurant nearby but plenty a short drive away. We enjoyed our stay
Thank you for review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay, we hope to hear from you again should you visit chiclana again!
A wonderful villa in a beautiful location! More than we ever expected!
Well, what can I say? From beginning to end Nicola was an absolute star. She emailed me with any help that I needed and offered excellent advice regarding using local ingredients to make my wedding cake and which companies to use to hire a car. She was on hand whenever we needed her and for that we will always be grateful! She was extremely helpful when we needed to change the date and time of arrival! She even organised for a bottle of cava to be left in the villa for us to celebrate our wedding with!
When we arrived at the villa, Natasha was extremely helpful and we felt as though we had a friendly contact in the area should we have needed it throughout the week. The villa was absolutely wonderful and more than we could have ever imagined! The inside of the villa was clean and well stocked with everything you could need, there’s even a drawer full of beach towels for you to use should you need them! 8 of us stayed in the villa from the ages of 80 down to 3 years old and we never felt like we were in each other’s way or that there wasn’t enough space, there was plenty of space. The bedrooms were extremely comfortable and the bathrooms were beautiful! The outside area was wonderful with an area for sunbathing, a spotless swimming pool and a brilliant barbeque area. We were also very impressed with the two garden areas and the seating area out the front which was useful when the sun was too strong as it was completely in the shade.
There is ample space for parking and we parked two cars and two motorbikes without a problem with space for more I think.
We would happily stay at this villa again and again. We had an absolutely wonderful time here and we would not hesitate to recommend the villa to our friends and family. There is plenty to do in the surrounding areas however you would need a hire car to get around. The roads are extremely easy to drive on and it’s possible to drive to places like Gibraltar in just over an hour.
Thank you so much Nicola for a brilliant stay! We can’t wait to book again and go back to your truly amazing villa! Highly recommended!😄
Thank you for such a lovely review. I must admit we were a little nervous when you said you were getting married during your stay, as we wanted everything perfect for you. We are so glad that it was for you all.
I am so happy you chose our villa to stay at, and look forward to welcoming you again...anytime!

We hope to welcome you back soon!
Our villa is located in Page del Humo, a quiet village with a handful of ventas (bar/cafe) serving good food, a general store and pharmacy. The villa looks towards the countryside on 2 sides with Medina Sidonia twinkling in the distance. The grounds are enclosed and secure with parking for 2 cars, with spacious grassed and patio areas. There is also a large shady front porch, ideal to take a break from the sun, or dry out from a dip in the pool. The villa has good quality fittings. Being on a corner plot, the villa is private, where you can just shut the doors and lock the world away! The main road to Chiclana is literally a couple of minutes away. There is a choice of large supermarkets, one of which is based in the shopping complex of Bahia Sur. Within the village there are 3 excellent places to eat, which are all well priced and serve quality dishes. Florintinas and the Sopressa (Casa Blas), both are about a 20 mins walk, but well worth it for the gorgeous steaks that they serve, plus other good homemade food. Casa Pedro is on the main village road, under a 5 minute drive, offering traditional spanish food and tapas. Alternatively a drive of 10 mins opens the choice to Novo Sancti Petri, Sancti Petri, Chiclana or the excellent restaurants scattered around neighbouring areas. Golf is particularly well catered for.
The driveway is gravel, so would not be suitable for wheelchairs, the front porch has one step, but after that the house is one one level, and both showers are in double enclosures.
The enclosed BBQ area as a sink. It has adequate area for food preparation. The pool/BBQ area are separated from a smaller garden area and porch/drive by a fence, the private pool (8m x 4m) has large Roman steps, suitable for paddling. This together with the enclosed grounds makes the villa ideal for families with children. The patio is set up for alfresco dining, here you can look over the pool, and views of the hills and onto Medina Sidonia. Beside the pool there are sun loungers, which can be used on the patio or grassed area. There is a large table with roomy seating, easily seating 8 adults, this is house under the beatiful pergola, which offers dappled shade in the afternoon. The front porch has comfortable wicker effect armchairs/settee and coffee table to make the most of the shade and summer breezes.
The beautiful beaches of Chiclana are only about a 15 minute drive. The most well known is the award winning blue flag beach of La Barrosa lined with cafes. Sancti Petri and Roche are smaller beaches, but have rock pools and is not unlike those found in Cornwall (to give an idae of the setting for our UK guests). Further along the coast you will find Conil, a small bustling seaside village, which is well worth a visit. These beaches will seem deserted most of the time, except from August when the Spanish are holidaying themselves.
There a several golf courses to choose from, based in Novo Sancti Petri, which are a short drive away (about 10 minutes). The most well known has 36 holes and was designed by Severiano Ballesteros.
How to get there
Jerez - 40 minutes (Ryanair).
Seville - 90 minutes (Ryanair, Easyjet).
Gibraltar - 75 minutes (Easyjet).
Malaga - 2 hours 30 minutes (most major airlines).
Faro - 3 hours (most major airlines).
Visit Jerez for the sherry houses and horses, historical Cadiz (30 minutes), Seville (90 minutes) or see the apes of Gibraltar (90 minutes). Or for something different why not head to Tarifa and catch a ferry to Tangiers (Morocco, Just over an hour away). Or for some gentle shopping there is Bahia Sur at San Fernando (20 mins), Or Area Sur in Jerez (30 mins). For those more active why not visit Aqualand, at El Puerto de Santa Maria (20 minutes). For lazy lunches why not try one of the many 'white' villages?
This is truly unspoilt Spain, there are increasing amounts of English menus/English spoken, but be prepared to try out your own Spanglish!
This is the area the Spanish go on holiday, the quality of food from the supermarkets is outstanding and the restaurants truly do offer mouthwatering food, most have air conditioning, for some occasional relief! They have also just added their own Thai restaurant to the list, along with all the traditional restaurants.
Within Chiclana there are shady parks for children to play, horse riding is available, and you must not forget surfing. Tarifa is world class, and if you do venture down there, dolphin spotting can be booked. Ferries run from Tarifa to Morroco, ideal for day trips.
Other activities available are Go Karting, Watersports (at Sancti Petri), visits to the sherry houses and Aqualand (about 20 mis away)
Cash Machines and Banks are available.
