About Josh Frederickson and David McCue
The home is owned by Dave, Josh, and their wives Val and Molly. Since 2002, they have been carefully restoring the home and learning a great deal about this historic property along the way. The Wheelhouse was once the owned by the railway developer who connected the New York train system to Narragansett by way of trolley car. In the late 1800's horses were still used to pull trolleys. We've discovered several originial horseshoes on the property to prove it! If you appreciate the unique character of Victorian-era homes, you'll understand why we fell in love with Wheelhouse the first day we visited in 2002.

Why Josh Frederickson and David McCue chose Narragansett Pier
We love spending as much time as we can at the Wheelhouse ourselves, so we make sure the house has all the amenities of home for our guests. This house is perfect for a week near the beach during the summer or offseason where you can put your feet up and lose track of time for a while. With so many great options nearby for dining, the most difficult decisions you'll be making all week are which restaurants to try. If you simply can't decide, we make sure you have all the tools you need to host your own lobster boil, or cook up someting fresh and delicious at home.
What makes this House unique
One of our favorites times of day is just at dusk arrives. After a day at the beach, with the sky beginning to turn, we make a point to gather on the deck and porch every evening to enjoy the last hour or so of daylight together. With the cheers of a little league game not far off, it's easy to appreciate the simplicity of a day at the beach, enjoying each other's company, wishing the sun would stay up just a little longer.

We had a fabulous weekend! We found the house to be spacious and spotless! Extremely well equipped with amenities. The beds are very comfortable. Ample parking. Great porch with many chairs.
We're so happy you enjoyed your stay at the Wheelhouse. Thanks!
Nice home! very clean and had all the amenities we needed!
Nicely maintained property! had a great time for our girl's weekend!
The house is a perfect vacation home, better than advertised.
This house has all you want in a vacation home. Great location, comfort and amenities. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. The indoor porch has enough chairs and beach toys to keep everyone happy including a beach cart which we took advantage of and loaded up for our walk to the beach. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all spacious. The wrap around porch and deck gave us even more comfortable living space for our lobster dinners. Stores and the port for fresh lobsters are minutes away. The outdoor shower with hot water is also very spacious and one of the best I've used. Although our family has been vacationing in RI every year for almost 30 years this was our first exposure to staying in Narragansett and we're grateful for finding this terrific house for a fantastic vacation week. Loved it!!!
Great for Groups!
Ten members of our family had a relaxing and comfortable stay at the Wheelhouse over Memorial Day weekend. Although the weather wasn't beachy, the house was equipped with plenty of sand chairs as well as a cart to roll them in, should you opt to walk. It was also within a 1/2 hour ride to Newport. We enjoyed hanging out on the porch as well as the spacious deck. The property is also close to a grocery store and other shopping.
Great location and house our second year there. Hope to be back next year.
We stayed here for our daughters wedding weekend. The house is large and clean and well equipped. The property is beautiful and has ample parking. There is a nice park across the street for the kids, short walk to everything else. Perfect location. I am sure I could not have found a better rental. The only thing to be prepared for is if it happens to be a hot day, the fans do not give much relief.
Thanks for the kind words. We take a lot of pride in our property and glad that it can provide our guests with great stays and memories. That being said, we understand on really hot days (90+) that it can get a little warm. We have recently decided to add A/C window units to all the bedrooms and one for the first floor as well. This will be the first year for that so we're anxious to hear the feedback.
Best to you and your family,
Josh and David
Prospect Ave. is directly across from Sprague Park, a picture-perfect family park and playground. The home is a little over a half-mile walk to Narragansett Town Beach down picturesque Narragansett Ave. The location is convenient to all of the sights and amenities of Narragansett Pier and South County. Galilee, which is the fishing port of Narragansett is about 5 miles away where you can buy lobsters right off the boats as they come in. The town of Wakefield is also very nearby, which offers a multitude of restaurants, shops, and ice cream parlors. Narragansett has experienced very successful managed growth with an emphasis on maintaining the classic look and feel of the Pier while welcoming in new restaurants and businesses to make this an ideal place to vacation. Fifteen minutes north of Narragansett is the village of Wickford, which is a scenic and historic harbor that offers shopping and good restaurants. If you are willing to travel 30-40 minutes, you'll discover Jamestown village, on Conanicut Island, which is a great destination to visit. Newport is over the next bridge from Jamestown and is a great place to visit during the summer, with excellent restaurants, lots of shopping, and a harbor that is home to boats and yachts from all over the world!
