Great spot for family get together
Three generations met up for some downtime on the beach. The house was a great place be when not at the nearby beach.
A Great Family Vacation!
We had a wonderful beach vacation at the Wheelhouse! It comfortably accommodated our family of 12. We especially appreciated the passes for Narragansett Beach and all of the beach gear available for our use. The outdoor shower is fabulous! We also enjoyed having our morning coffee while rocking on the porch...it really is a great vacation home. The large backyard space was the perfect place for our cornhole games! I have 2 suggestions: It would be great if a clothesline was available to hang wet bathing suits and towels, instead of having to drape them over the porch railing, and more coat hangers in the closets. Looking forward to booking again in the future!
It fit a large family well, the backyard was a ton of fun, and location was perfect.
The home was perfect for a family of 10.
The grandchildren had outdoor space to ride scooters, run under the sprinkler, play frizbee and have easy access to the deck and house.
The bedroom were spacious and the dining room accommodated everyone at the table.
We enjoyed our day at the beach, which was easily accessible from the house.
Thank you Joshua and David for the opportunity for our family to have a long weekend together at your lovely home.
28th annual golf trip
This spacious Victorian home is perfect for our annual golf trip. Eight golfers participate and thoroughly enjoy the local golf courses near Josh's wonderful home. After a full day on the links, this place relaxes the entire group with its myriad bedrooms, full kitchen, and plenty of areas to decompress.
Prospect Ave. is directly across from Sprague Park, a picture-perfect family park and playground. The home is a little over a half-mile walk to Narragansett Town Beach down picturesque Narragansett Ave. The location is convenient to all of the sights and amenities of Narragansett Pier and South County. Galilee, which is the fishing port of Narragansett is about 5 miles away where you can buy lobsters right off the boats as they come in. The town of Wakefield is also very nearby, which offers a multitude of restaurants, shops, and ice cream parlors. Narragansett has experienced very successful managed growth with an emphasis on maintaining the classic look and feel of the Pier while welcoming in new restaurants and businesses to make this an ideal place to vacation. Fifteen minutes north of Narragansett is the village of Wickford, which is a scenic and historic harbor that offers shopping and good restaurants. If you are willing to travel 30-40 minutes, you'll discover Jamestown village, on Conanicut Island, which is a great destination to visit. Newport is over the next bridge from Jamestown and is a great place to visit during the summer, with excellent restaurants, lots of shopping, and a harbor that is home to boats and yachts from all over the world!

About Josh Frederickson and David McCue
The home is owned by Dave, Josh, and their wives Val and Molly. Since 2002, they have been carefully restoring the home and learning a great deal about this historic property along the way. The Wheelhouse was once the owned by the railway developer who connected the New York train system to Narragansett by way of trolley car. In the late 1800's horses were still used to pull trolleys. We've discovered several originial horseshoes on the property to prove it! If you appreciate the unique character of Victorian-era homes, you'll understand why we fell in love with Wheelhouse the first day we visited in 2002.

Why Josh Frederickson and David McCue chose Narragansett Pier
We love spending as much time as we can at the Wheelhouse ourselves, so we make sure the house has all the amenities of home for our guests. This house is perfect for a week near the beach during the summer or offseason where you can put your feet up and lose track of time for a while. With so many great options nearby for dining, the most difficult decisions you'll be making all week are which restaurants to try. If you simply can't decide, we make sure you have all the tools you need to host your own lobster boil, or cook up someting fresh and delicious at home.
What makes this House unique
One of our favorites times of day is just at dusk arrives. After a day at the beach, with the sky beginning to turn, we make a point to gather on the deck and porch every evening to enjoy the last hour or so of daylight together. With the cheers of a little league game not far off, it's easy to appreciate the simplicity of a day at the beach, enjoying each other's company, wishing the sun would stay up just a little longer.
