About John Meeks

After vacationing in Teton Valley, my wife and I fell in love with the "quiet side of the Tetons". We purchased this beautiful log home so we can someday retire here. We were married by the pond in the shadow of the Grand Teton. With two additions to the family, we now enjoy great family vacations up here. We hope you make some great memories at our cabin in Teton Valley.

Why John Meeks chose Teton Valley Area

Beautiful custom built log home hand made by the previous owner. Close proximity to all outdoor activities.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My wife and I and our Lab vacationed here for a week and loved it. It was a perfect base for our day trips into Yellowstone. We were very impressed with the view of the Grand Teton right in front of us. The house was clean and far enough away from town that we felt secluded but close enough to get groceries. We'll be back in the future.

Wonderful vacation in the mountains!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy log cabin. The home was beautiful and impressive. We loved the windows, the incredible deck, and the views of the majestic mountains. We loved the rural location that was not far from grocery stores and restaurants. The beds were very comfortable and the hot tub was a nice bonus after hiking and horseback riding. The house was equidistant from Grand Teton and Yellowstone so we were able to explore both parks fully. Another added bonus was that many toiletries and supplies were provided (shampoo, laundry detergent, dishwashing soap), which is not common of rental properties. The owners were very helpful and responsive, which made the stay very comfortable. We had a small accident with a broken toilet, but this was resolved kindly and quickly. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone thinking of visiting this area. A+!

Great cabin for exploring the area

  • 5 of 5

The property was amazing and the hosts very responsive. It's absolutely the perfect style for a retreat to Idaho/Wyoming full of so much charm. Great rustic aesthetic. The house itself had everything we needed and very self-explanatory, and the hot tub with sunset views was fantastic. It's about 1.5 hours from the west entrance of Yellowstone so still a bit of a trip to get to the park, but well worth it given how comfortable it is. It was a great place to come back to and cook dinner each night after a long day in the park. Will definitely want to stay again for future trips to the area.

Stunning View of the Grand

  • 5 of 5

My brother found this gem for us. Great location on the Idaho side of the Tetons. Much more value for the money than over the pass in the Jackson Hole area. The accommodations were VERY comfortable and we pretty much had everything we needed. It was a little cold when we first showed up, but you just have to accept that it takes a little while for the structure to warm up...after all it was in the high teens/low 20s. Once the place warmed up, it was super cozy! We loved the location because it was so convenient to areas great for x-country skiing, and it was a very short drive over to Jackson whenever we wanted an "in-town" day. After being socked in the first day, every morning and evening thereafter provided stunning sunrises and sunsets on the Grand Teton. The hot tub was a very welcoming relief to sore muscles after hours of skiing. Nothing like having a nice drink in the 104 degree water when the air temp is in the low 20s. We really loved this place and would make a return visit.

Great vacation experience

  • 5 of 5

The house was basecamp for family and friends. We went different directions during the day, so the house was the central connection point for our group. It was perfect. Roomy, but cozy, warm, well-appointed, great hot tub, comfortable beds, awesome view. We watched the Super Bowl, played games, read books, cooked and ate great food, and honestly, it couldn't have been better. Great location relative to Driggs, Grand Targhee, cross-country trails and the highway. Appreciated the opportunity to share the vacation with our dogs as well.
