San Niccolò Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

The apartment SAN NICCOLO' is situated on the ground-floor of an antique aristocratic building, the Pecori-Giraldi Palace, that dates back to the 16th century.

This lovely apartment has been recently restored in the full respect of the best Tuscan tradition: bricktile and wooden floors, raftered ceilings and large, thick walls characterise its interior. It is made up of a wide open space with a loft king-size bed, a spacious living-room furnished with convertible beds, one bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen.

Located in the area of San Niccolò, one of the most characteristic areas of ancient Florence, this apartment is at a walking distance from Ponte Vecchio, Ponte alle Grazie, Santa Croce, and all the most important artistic and historical points of interest.

Perfect location for convenience and quietness

  • 5 of 5

This is a perfect apartment for a couple. We found that is was extremely quiet as well as very clean and tidy. Plus, it was convenient for all of our wishes and needs -- grocery shopping near by, bus stops around the corner! Great local trattorias are just down the street that included more locals than tourists. It is a short walk to Pitti Palace, Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi Gallery as well as other major sights. Local buses stopped literally around the corner made all of Florence very accessible.

We would definitely recommend this apartment to our friends. It has many conveniences including the clothes washer in the apartment and the jacuzzi Beth tub. It is very clean, well maintained and managed by an English speaking man who was SUPER helpful and did a thorough job in following through to answer questions we initially had.

***We would recommend listing in the discription the amenities of the clothes washer, hair dryer. The wonderful drying rack in the apartment was very adequate for drying clothes as well as bed linens and towels. It would be good to add to the apartment description that the king bed is up a set of stairs, even though there was a sofa bed in the living room.

Nice and Cozy Apartment

  • 3 of 5

Nice cozy Apartment. Great location. Within walking distance to all landmarks.

Carlos the property manager is a true pleasure. Very knowledgeable and always available for help.

However, I am rating the apartment as a 3 star, due to the fact that the Jacuzzi was not functional and due to the location of the apartment, their is major humidity, which caused breathing problems for my wife, dampening our vacations.

Perfect Spot

  • 5 of 5

Sometimes you just never know what you might find. Especially when you're locating accommdations on the internet and aren't familiar with the city. In this case, the city was Firenze (Florence) and I wasn't quite sure the layout, etc. Well, I couldn't have found a more perfect location for a short term apartment. Centrally located, just minutes from Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi, Piti Palace, Boboli Gardens... Great supermarket near Ponte Vecchio, great restaurants and of course, gelato on every corner! The space was perfect... we were there during a heat wave of 95F degree days.. the apartment was naturally cool and refreshing, all the amenities we could want, and wifi to keep us connected and sharing our great experiences with friends and family. A ground floor unit, with just a few steps to reach it.. a short flight of steps inside to reach the lofted bedroom with a window overlooking a courtyard. With Firenze at your fingertips, it'd be hard to stay inside much, be when you do, it's a comfortable place to call home during your exploration of the city. I'd rent it again in a heartbeat and encourage/refer my friends to do the same! Grazie for a wonderful stay!

Easy in Florence

  • 4 of 5

The man who meets you gives you so much help and information it should be added in to the price. The place is like staying at your grandparents, it has a old fashion look but is comfortable and homey. The tub is nice after a long day to soak your tired body and the washer was a great help to us since we packed light. The location was nice not far from the main hot spots but quiet and more local.

Perfect for our needs.

  • 4 of 5

The arrangements: All of our communications were with Carlos. During the reservation and booking process, all of our e-mail inquiries were answered promptly. Carlos met us at the apartment, and showed us around. His English is impeccable and he is very friendly. Carlos gave us helpful advise as to what to do and see in Florence. He is meticulous with respect to receipts, deposits, payments, etc.

The apartment: The apartment is in a 14th century family palace. The apartment itself is very comfortable. The lighting and plumbing, although modern and completely functional, seemed a little odd by north american standards. The apartment is very secure. The apartment was equipped with a dehumidifier, and it should be used (at least occasionally) to avoid dampness. The kitchen is well equipped. The main bed is in the loft, plus there is a pull-out double couch on the main floor. The bed is comfortable; we didn't try the pull-out.

Although the apartment is equipped with modern conveniences, you will never forget that you are in a historic building.

The apartment is in Oltrarno, very close to the Arno river. It is a five minute walk to the Ufizzi, and a ten minute walk to the Duomo. Oltrarno is a destination itself; Pitti Palace and Boboli and Bardini gardens are very close to the apartment. Good restaurants and markets are nearby.
