Spacious Apartment in Prime Location
This apartment has plenty of room for a family (and friends to boot), with 3 bedroom suites, 5 beds, and 3 bathrooms, plus large common spaces. It is well furnished with lovely antiques and is ideally located between San Marco Square and the Rialto Bridge. There is a supermarket just a few minutes away, and plenty of restaurants and coffee shops within steps. As would be expected of a 4th floor flat in an older building, the water pressure is on the light side and the water temperature never gets really hot; however, it was adequate and we never had a problem running out of hot water for showers. It was surprisingly quiet at night, with just the usual noise from water traffic in the mornings. We loved our stay!
Thanks for your nice review. It was a really pleasure to host you!
A very special weekend in Venice celebrating my parents’ 70th birthdays.
The apartment was in a fantastic location and large enough for the six of us to sleep, eat and spread out comfortably. Elena who met us was very helpful and explained everything we needed to know. The apartment decor is beautiful if in need of a little tlc and it would be so much nicer without all the net curtains which made it very dark and gloomy. The kitchen was ok but could have done with a toaster or a proper oven that worked.
The area was fabulous however, 2 mins from the Rialto and San Marco, with great restaurants nearby and lots of lovely shops and places to see. Recommend the restaurant Il Colonette which is just around the corner by the chocolate shop!
I would definitely recommend the apartment but it would benefit from a little love, care and updating, especially the kitchen. Overall though it was very nice and our weekend was very comfortable.
Beautiful apartment in the perfect location
The apartment is spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated. You feel the history in the building; the decor hearkens back to a slower, more gracious time. The bedrooms are roomy with ample storage, although the beds were a bit firmer than we're used to. The kitchen is large, clean and fairly well equipped. The water in the bathrooms takes several minutes to warm up, but we were warned in advance about this so were prepared to wait for it.
The location is perfect - just a few minutes' walk in one direction to St. Mark's, and a few minutes' walk in the opposite direction to the Rialto Bridge. There are numerous shops and restaurants in both directions (don't miss the nearby chocolate shop). A water taxi can bring you to within very short walking distance to the front door.
Our train into Venice was late, but our host still met us at the apartment that evening to show us around. I would definitely recommend this lovely apartment for a family or a few couples traveling together (we were 3 couples).
Thanks a lot for your review, it was a pleasure to host you!
Very close to all the action.
Nice place. Close to everything. Happy with rooms and beds. AC worked well for us. Wifi was off and on. We did not use the kitchen.
Nice space for a family with space to relax.
Thanks James, it was a pleasure to host you! We hope to have the pleasure to meet you again in the future.
... we are asking at the company who gives the service about the wifi problem underlined.
Great location, lots of space
The flat is located halfway between the Rialto bridge and Piazza San Marco - perfect location for Venice.
We were surprised at how large the flat was, with lots of room. Kitchen was well setup and the lovely dinning room and living room was great for eating-in and visiting. Bedrooms were large and the beds comfortable, each with it's own bathroom ensuite. Water pressure and temperature was good. No issues at all during our stay. Would highly recommend.
Thank you very much indeed for your stay! any positive feedback helps us to give our best every day and we take this opportunity to thank all guests for their contributions and encourage us to do more to ensure our guests a pleasant stay.
Not only was it a fantastic location - the furnishings made us feel like we were in a palace. The help getting a water taxi to transport us from the train station to a dock that was meters away went off without a hitch. we loved hearing the church bells and the singing from down below. Unfortunately the gelateria was steps away too. :) We would definitely stay there again. Grazie mille for sharing your palace with me and mi famiglia.
It was a pleasure to host you and your Family. Thanks a lot for your stay we hope to meet you still in the future!
The elegant palazzo housing the apartment is located only 150 metres from Piazza San Marco, a location that allows its guests to easily reach the most famous sights of Venice. Piazza San Marco. The living room of Venice, is an immense area paved in stone called pietra d’Istria, enchanting for its dimensions, but especially for the presence of the a splendid Basilica adorned with golden Byzantine mosaics and dominated by the four horses of Constantinople; the cupolas above them are among the most outstanding symbols of the splendor of the Republic of Venice, along with the spectacular five arches with bas reliefs. Palazzo Ducale. In the 14th century, the 'palazzo of power' underwent the final expansion that transformed it into a majestic residence with a gothic profile facing the piazza. The salon of the Gran Consiglio (High Council), with frescoes by masters such as the Tiepolo, Titian and Veronese, is a room with monumental dimensions mesmerizing any visitor. Across from the palazzo, the hundred meters of the and Bell Tower of San Marco need no introduction. Rialto. Heading north from San Marco, take the street of the Haberdasheries, among fashion display windows and traditional Venetian shops, you will discover the spectacular geometry that defines the bridge, Ponte di Rialto: another icon of the city recognized around the world. Indulge your senses in the lively daily markets and the joyous atmosphere invading the nightspots in the evening at the hour of the aperitif! From Rialto, the ferry direct to San Marco (lines 1 and 2) is the perfect way to see the second part of the Canal Grande; this route, perhaps the most interesting, winds among extraordinary palazzos on the water, sites of major museums (Cà Rezzonico, Palazzo Grassi, Palazzo Balbi, Guggenheim Foundation) and flows, after Punta della Dogana, into the Bacino San Marco, between the the island, isola di San Giorgio and Riva degli Schiavoni. Remaining in the section called sestiere di San Marco, in the vicinity of apartment Duodo Gregolin, dedicate some of your time to admiring the original Scala Contarini called del Bovolo: immersed in the calli around campo San Bortolo, it has an unusual spiral form, to which it owes its name, and from its top offers an enchanting view over the roofs of Venice. During your stay in Venice, stop at any authentic inn or bacaro, step outside the usual itineraries, and lose yourself in the calli of a city that asks nothing more, so great is its magnificence. Venice is even more enchanting during a romantic evening at the Zattere, a stroll through the old quarter, sestiere di Castello and by day at the isola della Giudecca. Seeing is believing!
