About The Owner

- Formerly managed by River Bluff Cabins

Why The Owner chose Shenandoah Valley

Local people often book this home as a true "find" in this area. It is quiet and has one of the nicest river spots to relax on the Shenandoah for a quick dip, fishing or just relaxing. Come see why folks who know the area, return year after year.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Loved the place! Beautiful views of the mountains and peaceful fields. Quiet and secluded. House was better than pictures! My girlfriend and I went together and this place was just huge! Would very comfortably accommodate much larger parties. Close enough to Luray for groceries. Loved the walk down to the Riverside clearing and campfire area. Spent a lot of time fishing so we enjoyed the private river access. Big rock ledges run straight into river from access point and make a killer small mouth spot approx 1/4 to 3/4 across river about 20 ft upstream from bank. Wade up and out along ledge. WIFI and Satellite TV were great. Relaxed enjoying wine in the hot tub while soaking in views. What more could you ask for!?

Perfect long weekend spot!

We really enjoyed everything about the property. The view, the river, the fire pit, the screened porch....

For us it was only an hours drive, but seemed a million miles away!

We would definitely book again.

The perfect getaway.

  • 5 of 5

We have been coming to the farmhouse for 10 years! It is our family's favorite retreat. The sunsets by the river are gorgeous. The wildlife is plentiful. This summer, we barely left the property. From the farmhouse, you can hike, swim, bike, canoe, fish, and most of all relax. The house is clean, roomy and comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked. There is a fire pit by the river for grilling and s'mores! The farmhouse is conveniently located near Luray and there is easy access to tons of outdoor activities as well.

My husband and I stayed here with our 3 children, ages 13, 11, and 6, for 3 nights. It was just what we needed. The home was delightful and the property was serene.... There is no internet access and barely any cell phone service which wound up being A good thing.....with no option for distraction , we had no choice but to relax and bond . We will definitely return . :)

My respite & solace

  • 5 of 5

As a repeat visitor to the Cedar Point Farm, I expected and received exactly what I needed. A moment to breathe. Our lives can be chaotic and this is a place where is can find tremendous peace. The home is warm and inviting. It's quiet. Really quiet. Upon arrival I felt like I'd arrived "home". The homeowner is so kind and welcoming -- she has a wonderful way of making you feel welcomed like family. I visit the farm for respite, so don't spend time in the general area during this trip, but do know that if I'd wanted, there are so many fun things to see and do in the surrounding area. Thank you Nina and CPF. We'll be back again soon! Sheri

Hidden gem

  • 5 of 5

Our family really enjoyed this property. The location has a great mix of woods, farm land and a river front. It gives you the impression that you have privacy (although some of the neighboring houses on the property also use the riverfront). Nina was very helpful. We were there during a very cold period with temperatures dipping down to the single digits. We were concerned about the heat before the trip be Nina reassured us that we wouldn't have any problems. She was right. She was very attentive all around. In fact, she called us just moments after we arrived to check-in.

The hot tub was a delight. It was so cold outside that we didn't use it more than once but it was still enjoyable. If you are coming in the winter, you should bring some robes or extra towels as the jacuzzi is located downstairs with the nearest entrance to the house up the stairs.

Otherwise, the house has all the basics for a rental property - condiments, plates, etc (although you might want to bring some cooking pots as some of the pots there look a bit blackened).

Another major plus was the size of the house. We expected it to be smaller. We also really enjoyed the gas fireplace and fire pit outside.

Lastly, we decided to leave early due to a snow storm and had some minor trouble driving up the hill. Nina has called us in advance and warned us of the storm and to move the car up the hill. Definitely take her advice!
