Down Thomas Chalet Rental Photos and Description

Seaside Chalet- Sleeps 4

Welcome to No. 74 Bovisand Park and after a good nights sleep wake to the sound of the seagulls. Take a deep breath of the clean sea air...and relax...start your holiday in a good place...

No. 74 is an ideal location to explore Devon, Dartmoor and Cornwall; walk the scenic South West coastal paths; enjoy a quiet family beach holiday; or simply ’escape from it all’.

The chalet is situated on the cliffs of the south west coast path overlooking the waters of Plymouth Sound. This cosy haven enjoys maximum sun during the day and stunning sunsets in the evening.

Bovisand Park is a private, gated community with chalets lining the cliffs and a café and small shop on site. Please note that this is not a commercial holiday park. The nearest village is Down Thomas, which has a pub (The Mussel Inn), post office and general store.

There is always plenty to watch as Plymouth (6 miles away) is a naval base, active port, fishing harbour, and a place for yachting.

No. 74's central position on the south west coast makes it the perfect location for exploring Devon and Cornwall - The Eden Project - St Ives Galleries - the pretty Dartmoor Villages - Dartmouth - Salcombe - the English Riviera - all within easy driving distance.

Ideally situated for easy access to the beach and the South West Coast Path, for all lovers of the countryside, artists, photographers, bird watchers and walkers.

No. 74, an ideal holiday stay for a couple or a small family.

The chalet has an open plan sitting room with a well equipped kitchen area with oven, microwave, fridge, washing machine, etc. There is a flat screen TV, DVD and stereo. We also have Economy 7 heating throughout.

There is 1 double bedroom looking out onto the rear patio area, with wardrobe and bedside cabinets. The second bedroom has a day bed with pull out single bed. This provides 2 singles or, combined together, the beds can become a double. The modern bathroom has a pump shower. Duvet covers, pillow cases, sheets and towels are not included and guests should bring their own. There is a supply of duvets and pillows for your use.

The attractive rear patio garden has a table with chairs and sun loungers. The shed is also available for your use and provides additional storage.

Charges are for a maximum of 4 persons and are inclusive of electricity and parking for one car (no gas at the chalet). Please contact us if there will be more than one car so that parking permits can be arranged. This will incur an additional charge of £3.00 per night. Bovisand Park is a non-commercial private estate with allocated parking.

Departure 10am - Arrivals after 3pm.

No smoking or pets please. No barbeques are allowed either on the property or on the beaches.

Stunning Location

Just had a lovely long weekend at No. 74, which is very well equipped and in a stunning location overlooking Plymouth Sound. If you're looking for a peaceful spot with beautiful coastal walks then this certainly fits the bill. A couple of good pubs and a descent café all within walking distance, Perfect !!

Beautiful location and a Stunning Chalet

  • 5 of 5

Beautifully presented and ample space for our small family, this chalet exceeded our expectations. Perfectly situated on the outskirts of Plymouth but far enough out to be in the countryside. Fantastic communications. Made for a perfect get-away for us and our 3 year old daughter. Would not hesitate in recommending this to anyone.

As described. There was plenty of space for us 2. Four people would need more wardrobe space, but would siut young family. Lovely views and peaceful surroundings. We are considering next year. sat. nav."bovisand estate" worked for me. Places to visit:-Salcombe, Edcombe,(nice carvery),The Barbican(Plymouth distiliery) the restaurant is run by the Tanner bros.,expensive, but good.

Brilliant

Stayed for a short break and was amazed by the beauty of the location.

The chalet is situated in a cove over looking Plymouth sound with the sea just a few yards away, the chalet is fully kitted out with everything you will need for a comfortable stay.

Local shops and amenities are easy to find and close by.

With the chalet being situated at the far end of the park it means it's very peaceful and quiet, I would 100% recommend using this chalet .

Caroline has done a fantastic job of furnishing and decorating the inside and has made the whole process of staying there a pleasure.

Map

The chalet is situated on the South West Coast Path. It is the perfect location for exploring Devon and Cornwall - The Eden Project - St Ives Galleries - the pretty Dartmoor Villages - Dartmouth - Salcombe - the English Riviera - all within easy driving distance.

Plymouth is a vibrant waterfront city packed full of attractions. Come rain or shine you'll find something for everyone among the city streets, surrounding countryside and marine environment beyond.

There are well-known landmarks, historical sites and natural assets to explore across Plymouth's many unique areas and districts.

Wander the Barbican's quaint cobbled quayside following in the Pilgrim Father's footsteps or visit the National Marine Aquarium with its deepwater fish tanks. Sample Plymouth's finest export at the Blackfriars Gin Distillery or take a boat trip around the Sound from Mayflower Steps.

There's more family fun to be had up on the Hoe where you can climb the iconic Smeaton's Tower lighthouse. Take the plunge at Tinside Lido, our restored Art Deco swimming pool or simply take in the panoramic view of busy boating activity from this stunning natural amphitheatre.

Out on the water you can take a floating tour of Drake's Island, the Naval Dockyards and River Tamar, book a behind the scenes tour of Devonport Naval Base or stick your own paddle in the water at Mountbatten Water sports Centre.

If its entertainment you're after the nationally acclaimed Theatre Royal showcases some of the UK's biggest and best productions throughout the year, whilst the Pavilions has leisure and entertainment under one roof with its packed event diary of live gigs and shows along with the ice rink. And there's art aplenty at the City Museum and Art Gallery, Plymouth Arts Centre and the Peninsula Arts venues.

Further a field you can stroll round the many stately homes and gardens in the area, get up close to some big cats at Dartmoor Zoological Park, travel down the Tamar by rail or take to the (dry!) slopes at the John Nike ski and leisure centre.

And if the great British weather is really inclement there are also indoor play centres at Jump and Drake's Den, a multiplex cinema and ten-pin bowling at the Barbican Leisure Park – all guaranteed to keep the children amused!

Visit the UK's largest aquarium and be amazed at our fascinating underwater world.

Start with a rock pool ramble in Shallow Waters then move deeper into the coastal seas of the Atlantic Reef. Follow the mesmerising Ocean Drifters and enter the depths of the aquarium in our Lost At Sea exhibition. Here you'll find the Atlantic Ocean tank teeming with sharks, rays, tarpon and countless other species swimming in shoals or grazing on a sunken WWII sea plane.
