Beautiful apartment in the heart of Florence, in a very picturesque pedestrian area within walking distance of the main historical monuments: the Duomo and the central station is 3 minutes' walk away, as the Medici Chapels, the market of San Lorenzo. The apartment has been renovated with care and taste in May 2013 and is equipped with every comfort: TV, Wi Fi, air conditioning, washing machine and dishwasher. It consists of 1 bedroom (king size bed 160cm), 1 bathroom with rain shower, bidet, large wash basin and wc, living area with double sofa bed (sleeps 2). The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge / freezer and electric oven and gas hob. The dining area has a table for 4 people. The house is equipped with bed linen, towels and kitchen.
The property consists of two separate apartments (totally renovated in May 2013) which can be rented separately or are ideal for 2 couples / families ('Faenza 11'). The one bedroom apartment ('Max') is about 60 square meters and includes a living room with sofa bed; a new kitchen / dining room equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, full fridge / freezer, and gas stove; a complete bathroom with rain shower, bidet, large sink and toilet; and a separate bedroom with large double bed (160cm) and wardrobe overlooking an interior courtyard. My nome is Nicole, I live in Florence since 20 years, but i'm from Sweden! I love Florence and I'm convinced that it's one of the most beautiful towns in the world! When I came here, I was supposero to stay one year, but... I stayed and graduated in marketing! My husband was born in New York and we have 2 wonderful kids.
nicole toth purchased this apartment in 2013
My husband and I just stayed here for 3 days from June 7-10 - we were in the Max apartment. The apartment was clean and moderately furnished, and was well equipped with all the necessary items. The best part of it was the location though. Short walk to the Santa Maria Novella train station, and many other sights, museums, shops, and many restaurants all around you.
As far as functionality, I would say this one could have used a folder/binder with instructions. We also stayed in Rome and Lake Garda using VRBO/Airbnb, and comparing them with this one, that was lacking, in my opinion. Of course, they all have their own pros and cons, and it wasn't really a big deal. The owners responded to my question and all was well.
The only negative I would say was that there are no real windows looking out. The only windows in the apartment all look to a tiny inside courtyard of other windows. If you look up, you may get a glimpse of what the weather is doing. So if you are mostly out and about, like we were, it's not a real issue. However, if you are planning on staying for a longer time and planning on spending some time indoors, then this apartment may not be for you.
The owners were very easy to work with, communicate with and were very friendly.
We arrived after a long day of travel and found it easy to get our apartment. It was such an easy to walk from/to the train station, which was important to us, because we took a couple of day trips from Florence, and also had some luggage with us. It is also just a couple of blocks from the Piazza del Duomo, in one direction, and the Mercato Centrale (great place to eat or shop for food), in another direction. And the bartender at the Brew Dog pub right next door told us about a good brewpub, Mostodolce, also just a few blocks away. All of the attractions we were interested in were within walking distance. We never had to use a taxi or public transit of any kind.
The apartment is just perfect for a couple, and was a very comfortable place to enjoy a bottle of wine at the end of the day We really appreciated the big, beautiful bathroom and rain shower, not something you typically get in a hotel, and found everything in working order, including good, reliable wifi access. I would definitely recommend this apartment to friends visiting Florence.
Stayed here for three days in October 2015 to site see Florence. The location is a short and easy walk from the main trail station which was very convenient for us. You have to lug your bags up two floors but that was quickly done - the stair was is not tight or narrow.
The suite has been renovated recently so the bathroom is fresh and fancy. The rain head shower is pretty ridiculous though as water only comes out a few holes - water pressure or volume I am not sure.
The bedroom is at the back of the suite away from the other rooms which was nice. There was obviously other families in the building as you can hear children playing at times but come bedtime, all is quiet.
We never used the kitchen as we like to enjoy local food when we are on vacation. Everything is as the pictures present and there were no surprises. Keep in mind you pay for electricity at the end of your stay. Our amount was so small they waved the cost - gracie.
Nicole was easy to reach ahead of our visit and her husband provided access to the suite - he doesn't speak much English, but we managed just fine.
All in all, a good place to stay if you want access to the trains and don't mind a short walk to the main squares of Florence.
The Max apartment is in the perfect location, two blocks from the Duomo, 50 meters from the Capilla Medici, one block from the San Lorenzo market, and a three minute walk from the train. Location could not be better in Florence. The apartment is located on a lively street full of bars and restaurants, but once inside you would never know if from how quiet it is. The apartment is very well appointed, clean, and very comfortable for two or a couple with a child. The only complaint would be that the pictures do not accurately depict the size of the apartment - with the very high ceilings it really feels much larger than it appears in the photos! Nicole was very helpful and flexible even when we had some last minute travel changes. I only wish we would have had more time to stay! I could not recommend this apartment more highly. I hope to return in the near future.
