About Dr. Robert Sarvis

Dr. Robert Sarvis purchased this cottage in 1982

Why Dr. Robert Sarvis chose Nantucket

The cottage has all of the advantages of being in-town, yet you have the privacy and quite of the conservation area that surrounds the property. You can walk to downtown and all of Nantucket's great restaurants. The conservation area has wonderful hiking paths where you will see all of the native birds. Two cardinals have lived in our hydrangeas for many years. The privet enclosed backyard is private and safe for children with beautiful gardens full of hydrangeas and roses, and sheltered by an antique oak tree.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage is centrally located within the Nantucket Historic District. The Old Mill and other historic sites are nearby. All beaches are easily walked or biked to. The bike path across the street connects with all of Nantucket's wonderful bike paths, making biking all over the island convenient and safe for children and adults alike. While there is off street parking for two cars, a car is not a necessity. Grocery shopping is a short walk. A bus stop is at the end of the street. Nantucket's seasonal bus transportation takes you to all areas of the island like Siasconst and Madaket.

Outstanding Rental!

  • 5 of 5

We had an outstanding time in this house, even with cold rainy weather. The heat was fast and plentiful, the house beautifully appointed and the proximity to restaurants and shopping was fine. There were four of us, and there was plenty of space to spread out. We went to three fabulous restaurants within a mile of the house (Sea Grill, Downyflake and Fusaros) and easily walked into town to shop and dine. In town we dined at The Rose and Crown, and Brotherhood of Thieves. We never had a bad meal, the Sea Grill was outstanding. The beds were comfortable, the house was sparkling clean, the owner was highly responsive when we had questions and the setting is unbelievable. The house looks out onto protected land, lovely and quiet.

Great location and in good condition

  • 5 of 5

We (3 couples) rented this house for our friends wedding. It was the perfect location 15-20 walk into town and nice bike ride to beaches and Cisco brewery! Robert was always very responsive. Would definitely come back again!

Beautiful!

  • 4 of 5

Loved everything about this house and property!! Very accommodating!! Just a couple reason why I gave it four stars - the pictures show a gas grill but its charcoal... Had to go buy some. Locks on both front and back doors are a little tricky and I couldn't lock the house up when we would leave for the day. Lastly, I had read that checkout was at 11am but at 845am on the day of check out the owner was at the house rushing us out the door! I wasn't very happy about that. Other than that I would definitely recommend this beautiful, well maintained house to anyone!!

Perfect ACK rental

  • 5 of 5

The location is ideal with just a short walk into town and being next to the bird sanctuary gives you lovely bird songs. The layout is great with the master bedroom on the first floor with a full bath. Everything is spotless and comfortable. The owner was excellent in the directions to the house and house information. I would definitely recommend this house to a friend and I would rent it again. All Nantucket restaurants are wonderful. We had great meals at American Seasons, Boarding House, and Fog Island Cafe.

Great Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed at the cottage and celebrated my brother's 50th birthday! The cottage was very clean and spacious, with a modern kitchen. The description of the cottage was accurate, if a bit understated. The pictures reflected the cottage's appearance. The location is perfect, a short walk into town and a 15 minute bicycle ride to Main Street. Bob, the owner, lives close by and was very helpful and accommodating. We will stay here, the next time we visit the island! I would highly recommend this rental to anyone wanting privacy with Nantucket town close by.
