At Wine Country Lodges, we’ve been inviting guests to enjoy these outstanding and unique pleasures of Sonoma County Wine Country since 2003, and have been consistently maintaining a 5 star rating.
Wine Country Lodge's owner, Lisa Neisingh, was raised in Sonoma County, where she enjoyed vacations with her family at their summer home in Occidental.
Wanting to share similar getaway experiences with her children and others, she bought Firefly Lodge
in 2003, in the vicinity of her great grandparents' home at Healdsburg's historic river resort, Camp Rose.
Soon after, Lisa, she bought three, additional, nearby riverfront homes, and has been inviting guests ever since. The homes are elegant, rustic residences; that are both casual and eye appealing. Each home comfortably accommodates guests seeking a place to gather for memorable retreats with family and friends.
The very restful, natural settings offer guests a welcome respite from urban life. Each home enjoys an incredibly beautiful and unspoiled natural environment. Our family enjoys filling these wonderful riverfront homes with comfortable furnishings, beautiful amenities, and the opportunity to enjoy a choice of many adventurous and leisurely activities, to the delight of guests.
I was searching for a rustic riverfront getaway - the kind I remembered as a child - a place to go with family and friends and leave the cares of the world behind!
I wanted it not too fussy... so it would have that 'relaxing' feeling. I wanted it to be waterfront, with plenty of beautiful views and fun water activities. I wanted it to have a big, covered deck, and plenty of room around the table.
I looked for a LONG time, and when I finally found Firefly, I felt, 'This is it!', and the family fun began! Now 11 years later we have shared this great home with thousands of guests from far and near and have made wonderful friends and memories, with many guests returning year after year.

We are so thrilled that such wonderful times were had by all, and that we were able to play a part in making that happen. We enjoyed working with all of you and hope you'll return again, soon!
Firefly Lodge Reservations
The house was a great location for four couples wanting a weekend getaway from San Rafael, CA. We only had to drive a bit over an hour to have a nice house on the river with two decks. The water was pretty low but we managed to still get in and float on rafts. We had beautiful weather too so all was good. The men golfed at a nearby course that they really enjoyed while the woman drove less than 20 minutes to shop and have lunch in Healdsburg. We barbecued both nights at the house and sat outdoors which was really enjoyable. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were very nice.
I know it was the end of the season but new beach towels and rafts would be nice. We weren't there to watch tv but the men wanted to watch a sports game and they commented that the tv needs to be updated as well. Although it would be nice if each couple had a bathroom, I believe many homes in Russian River are on septic system and bathrooms are limited so we worked it out.
All of us agreed that we would rent the house again. It was very relaxing and comfortable.
We were looking for a nice quiet getaway on the river, found this listing and gave it a shot. So glad we did, it's a magical spot. So peaceful and serene. Beautifully equipped and comfortable, although we spent almost all our time on the gravel sandbar directly below the house. We will without a doubt be back.

My daughter's wedding party stayed at Firefly Lodge. It was everything we hoped for: a warm, comfortable place with great spaces for all to enjoy each other's company and relax. Great views, a cozy living area, a variety of sleeping spaces, well-equipped kitchen, Wi Fi, even ping pong. Just a short drive to Healdsburg and wineries. Responsive communications from managers. Everyone enjoyed this special place!
The listing just does not compare to the real thing. Our group of 9 were in town for a wedding from San Francisco. We decided to splurge on a rental so that we could all be together and carpool together to the wedding location, and to enjoy the amenities like the hot tub and the BBQ grill.
The first of our group to arrive sent us a group text message (as the rest of us were starting our trek to Healdsburg) saying "OMG, this house is gorgeous!" - and truthfully, we were so amazed at the location, the furnishings, the details, the view, the river, and the hot tub.
We enjoyed sharing a couple meals at the dining room table. We enjoyed playing in the river. We enjoyed the sauna. It was a wonderful place to celebrate!
The house was sparkling clean when we arrived. Everyone that I interacted with from Wine Country Lodges were very nice. Everyone made themselves available if we had any questions or concerns. But during our rented time, they were very hands off, which was also really nice of them.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking to bring a good group together for a mini vacation. The unit comfortably sleeps 10. But there are also a couple of single day beds on the bottom floor that could sleep 2 more. Although, selfishly, I hope not too many people find out about this particular rental! :)
Thanks so much to Wylie and Trinette for their great customer service and for making our stay so wonderful.
We had a friends reunion while staying at the property. It was awesome. We had relaxed mornings sitting on the deck and drinking coffee. Then spent the days visiting wineries and breweries. The Russian river runs right behind the property. You can fish, float or swim. The evenings were spent barbequing, sitting in the hot tub and having ping pong tournaments.
We loved the location of this place in comparison to downtown Healdsburg. I booked the house for a family girls trip to Napa, and enjoyed the amount of space within the house. It was a good size for 10 girls, except for bathroom/mirror. It is a little difficult to get ready in a place with minimal mirrors and only 2 bathrooms. There was, however, enough space to be able to get some alone time away from the group if needed. The hot tub and river view were very nice! Keep in mind there is no washer and dryer if you are staying a longer period of time. This was not an issue for us as we were there for 4 days. The house is not up to date but is very cabin like. The only issue we had was with ants, noted by the owners on the fridge (we finally found on day 2). There seemed to be some cracks in the kitchen these were coming through. We had to make sure ALL food was kept in fridge and nothing was left on floor or counters. Many times we found ants in our purses/couches.
We are located in Healdsburg, in the heart of Sonoma County Wine Country, and enjoy frontage on the upper Russian River, where the water is clear and the river uncrowded for great family fun and outdoor adventure opportunities. There are activities to interest all ages and tastes, from winery tours, to hiking, biking, golf, swimming, kayaking, soaking in the hot tub, just relaxing, or watching wildlife from the deck. In town, there's the historic Healdsburg Plaza, with shaded benches, a gazebo for weekly summer concerts, fresh produce on farmers' market days, and paths for strolling; surrounded by charming boutique shops, highly respected restaurants with acclaimed chefs, antique shopping malls, art galleries, a theater, bicycle rentals, and tasting rooms with wine-food pairings. Surrounding the charming little city are World Class vineyards, wineries, and breathtaking vistas. Scenic country roads lead to ancient, giant redwood forests, Pacific Coast beaches, and natural hot springs.
Healdsburg has been described as the 'Belle of the Wine Country Ball', and to find out why, come and savor the experience. Travel beautiful wine roads to picturesque wineries, taste some of the finest wines in the world at their source, enjoy incredible cuisine prepared at highly rated restaurants by renown chefs, join popular annual events, shop in charming and unique stores, golf at one of the oldest and most scenic courses in Sonoma County. In summer, swimming, canoeing, and kayaking on the Russian River are a huge attraction. It's also just a scenic 45 minute drive to sandy coastal beaches to enjoy whale watching, tide pooling, or savoring fresh clam chowder. Only 30 minutes drive to visit ancient redwood groves at Armstrong Woods and Korbel Champagne Cellars for a wonderful guided tour. Passes are available to a Healdsburg health club with lap swimming and children's pools. The home is directly on the Russian River. Enjoy beautiful views, wildlife and unspoiled scenery.
