A 10 minute drive will get you in the heart of the pristine countryside which stretches up to one of the most beautiful spots on the island: Ghar Lapsi and Blue Grotto. Also in the vicinity, the UNESCO world heritage temples of Hagar Qim. Limestone Heritage.
Very beautiful villa with a fantastic pool that we had the sole use of. The owner was very helpful and friendly as were her parents who had the perfect balance of being welcoming but not intrusive. Very peaceful and scenic area away from it all. A car is advised if you want to explore the island and there is so much to see and do. Don't miss the ancient city of Mdina and the Blue Grotto, both just a short drive away. Thanks so much to our hosts for a fantastic time. Just wish we had spent longer there.
I sent two contact emails three days apart to the owner via the website and promptly received the confirmation of requests sent from HomeAway, but disappointingly not even the courtesy of a reply from the owner.
However, after I explained to my husband that we had not had a response yet and that perhaps we should continue searching for another property to rent he sent a request to the owner. Surprisingly he received an immediate response from Rosanne saying that the farmhouse was not available for our dates, that was fair enough as we know it is a busy time that we are visiting my country of birth.
I believe I have been discriminated against, I used my very Maltese name and Maiden name in the requests I sent to Rosanne. My husband, on the other hand is not Maltese, he is Scottish and used his name in his request.
This experience on this website by the owner has been very disappointing to say the least, this farmhouse boasts very loyal and caring owners but this experience has been exactly the opposite.
My husband and I stayed for 11 days at this wonderful rustic farmhouse in Malta. Roseann, our main contact, was so helpful during our stay, she even met us the evening we arrived to direct us to the farmhouse. The farmhouse itself was perfect, spotlessly clean, very comfortable and had everything you would need whilst self catering. The bed were very comfortable and it was very quiet area so perfect for getting away from it all. The outside area and pool were great on the hot days, with a lovely patio area and BBQ. Roseann's parents were very helpful, they even fetched us some local chicken kebabs for the BBQ. As previous reviews this isn't a touristy type place with English Bars and Clubs so not your scene if you want the nightlife. The area is perfect for exploring historical Malta with several of the old temples only a 10 minute drive. Valletta also was only about half an hour away. We would definitely recommend this beautiful place if you want to experience the true Malta.
This was our first trip to Malta and we arrived after three great days in Valletta. Roseann met us in Siggiewi and gave us a brief tour of the town and shops. Then a three minute drive to the property which is secured behind steel gates for great security. Roseann's parents, Pauline and Joey (and Rusty the Alsatian) live in the adjacent, connected property and were there to greet us. We booked the house because of the pool and it is fantastic - really clean, deep and ideal for swimming and fun, with a shallow end and steps just to sit and lap up the sun. A terrace between the pool and the house is equipped with table and chairs and BBQ, and huge canopies for shelter. The principal room in the house is a combined lounge/diner and fully equipped kitchen. A bathroom with bath and hand shower serves the two bedrooms. The toilet has small diameter piping so waste paper is put in a bin to be emptied and placed outside.
Our daily routine was coffee on the terrace, a trip to the shop for breakfast to be eaten on the terrace, a dip in the pool, a trip to the numerous attractions, and a return to the pool.
But what made the holiday was Pauline, Joey and Roseann who could not have been more friendly, welcoming and concerned for our enjoyment. They were present but anonymous unless we needed them and conversation became part of our daily routine.
Siggiewi is not crammed with shops and entertainment, and the property will not suit those who crave bars and discos on the doorstep. For those who want a quiet time, to relax and reflect on the best Malta has to offer, it is perfect. I miss Malta, and I miss our hosts too.
Faultless from start to finish. The owners met us at Siggiewi to drive us the couple of minutes to the farmhouse. They offered to go the the local PAVI supermarket for us, and had stocked the fridge up too. When we opened up the front door of the farmhouse I couldn't believe how great the place was. Charming, spotlessly clean, and very well equipped. Gardens were large, pool tremendous, and in a great location. Siggiewi and Mdina just round the corner, Ghar Lapsi and Hagar Qim a couple of minutes off too. The owners were brilliant, couldn't do enough to help. I really can't recommend this enough.
We came here from Latvia (5 persons) and stayed for more than a week. We felt like at home and even better. Pool was just excellent. We met very friendly and helpful landlords. We believe that this is probably the best place where to stay in Malta.
No sirds iesakām visiem, kas ciena sevi un citus cilvēkus.
Have a nice stay in Malta!
This property is an ideal retreat for those who love nature. It is in the vicinity of Laferla Cross a short distance to the west of Siggiewi. At an elevation of 218 meters this place offers panoramic views of the surroundings. This scenic walk can also take you to Buskett Gardens, which are located in the fertile valley of Wied il-Luq Siggiewi, to the South of Rabat and just east of Dingli. The gardens are at their best in spring but they offer shade from the mid-summer sun and a quiet place for a walk in winter months. The Verdala Palace, an official residence of the President Of Malta, is located on the edge of the Gardens. Also walking distance is Girgenti, a place of unearthly serenity and beauty. On the edge of this pretty valley, sits the Inquisitor's Summer Palace ( The Girgenti Palace) built by Inquisitor Horatus Visconti in 1625 ( the chapel added in 1760) The palace is just one room deep, it's seven rooms sitting in a line along a ridge overlooking the countryside below. Abandoned for many years, it has been restored and is the summer residence of the Prime Minister. It is not open to the public. Further down the valley is a peaceful outdoor chapel with stone bench pews,a large wooden cross and a statue of Our Lady in white robes and a blue mantle. This is the Madonna tal-Girgenti (www.ourladyofconsecration.org) and the shrine is dedicated to the Our Lady of Consecration - title not known before it was used here. This Marian Shrine was built in 1986 as a result of two versions claimed by a local woman, Guza Mifsud. She said she had been told by the Madonna to spread devotion to the new title, and also claimed that during a break from farming her family land in the Girgenti valley, had appeared to her dressed in white with a blue mantle. The shrine is visited by pilgrims and is always open.
