August cabin week
Pam and Phil greeted us when we arrived and gave us great information both about the cabin and things to do. We felt very welcome and our dog absolutely loved running around and jumping in the lake! The week was spent hiking, biking and kayaking and exploring Ely and surrounding. Great week!

The best EVER!
My husband and I have stayed in many VRBO locations. This was the best we have ever experienced. The house is close enough to the lake to hear the loons at night and in the morning. There are fields to run the dog off-leash. Pam has everything organized, labeled and available. If it isn't in the house, she will help make available what she can. We experienced quiet and solitude which was much needed. With that said, the house is close enough to town so as to have access to movies, music...shopping. I cannot say enough good about this location.

White Iron Hideaway
Our family had a great time. The owners were very nice and personable, but not intrusive. They supplied all of the essentials and the cabin was very clean and well-organized. We caught a couple of fish off the dock and saw several deer. We would highly recommend this property as a quiet place to get away.

Why they chose this property

3 generations of our family have been enjoying the beauty of the Northland. Over the years we have camped in tents, trailers, stayed at resorts until almost 40 years age when we found this gem on White Iron Lake. Over the years we have made many changes always looking to improve and preserve this for our future generations.

The Log Building was hand built by family members and local artisans. We helped or watched as every log was laid, every window placed to create our getaway. It was truly built with love! We hope you enjoy the rustic beauty of this Log Building and its surroundings.

What makes this property unique

The cabin is only 5 miles from the town of Ely, but you feel like town if far away when you reach the end of Suoja Road. Enjoy the views from the cabin deck or more expansive views from the shoreline or dock.

Start your day with watching the sunrise on the deck and then stargaze at the Milky Way from the same spot. We have seen the Northern Lights dance over the pines to the north.

Explore the river by canoe or kayak or fish in the seven miles of White Iron Lake. Take a walk in the woods on the path behind the cabin. End your day with a fire down by the shoreline making smores. These are some of our favorite things to do when we are Up North! We hope you create memories with your family at this special place!
