About Rose

Tel: 07752059460. My husband grew up in nearby Barrow and, as a family we have explored the area with our children for many years. Keen to continue this even when his parents were no longer around, we fell in love with this cottage which we think is in an idyllic location. Although we live more than 200 miles away, we get up whenever we can - our dogs are in their element at the cottage and run for miles across the sands. Our children as adults visit with their friends - taking the opportunity to go for long walks, bike rides, paddling their kayaks and flying kites.

Rose purchased this bungalow in 2006

Why Rose chose Kendal & South Lakes

We had no intention of purchasing a property but it was one of those moments where we both fell instantly in love with the cottage and location and knew we must have it. We've had no regrets and, besides letting it out, ourselves, family and friends have had many magical holidays at the cottage.

The cottage is cosy and quirky and equipped with everything you may need - hopefully! Dogs are safe in the grounds of the property but so near the beach for long walks. You can relax in the privacy of the gardens on sun loungers or choose to sit on a raised decking so you have a stunning view out over the bay.

What makes this bungalow unique

Location, location! stunning views from the conservatory and gardens over Morecambe Bay with the hills of the Lake District in the distance. The seclusion and tranquillity of the cottage - no near neighbours. Pubs (and food) 5 mins walk away, one dog friendly. Vast sands to walk out on (ideal for dogs). Amazing bird life in Morecambe Bay can be viewed from the property. Ideal base for exploring Southern and Western Lake District or just going for walks and bike rides from the property.

Fantastic location, lovely cosy cottage.

  • 5 of 5

This is a great place to stay. The cottaage is cosy, clean and warm. It has a big conservatory to view the beach and sea. Just a few steps from the garden and your on the beach, great for dogs children and grown up children. Just a few miles from a town but the peace and quiet is amazing (in fact the town is very peaceful too). We love Gillions tea rooms in Ulverston, very old fashioned just like the town itself. We cannot come back for a few years so will miss Maskel beach.

Wonderful Memories!

  • 5 of 5

Love this cottage, our third visit! The location is fantastic for us, 3 grandsons and the dog, who all spent hours out on the sands. The cottage has had a new kitchen fitted since our last visit, decking which you can see for miles from, and yet it still retains its uniqueness. As usual, the cottage was clean and well maintained and I love the comfy bed! Again, not once did I hear 'I'm bored' from the grandsons (aged 11 & 5 year old twins) what an achievement! We all can't wait to visit again! Many thanx to Rose and Bob!

Relax,relax,relax.

  • 5 of 5

Dog heaven. We loved this cottage...oversized beach hut!It had all we needed and was very conducive to relaxing.

Only downside is the very narrow lane to reach the cottage.

Owner's Response: Thank you, Janet, for this review. We're sorry about the narrow lane, we are constantly nagging the council to cut it back but they do it in their own good time!

Lovely Break Great Weather

  • 5 of 5

Got Here Sat 17.06.17 3 Adults & 1 Dog

Weather for the 1st 4-5 days was glorious and the view from the cottage was brilliant straight on to the beach, like having your own private stretch of beach which the dog loved.

The Cottage was fully equipped with everything you need for a weeks holiday on the beach and I cannot remember any problems at all

The area is nicely out of the way of everything so it was very peaceful, all you could hear was the Birds

Drive in to Ulverston was about 3 miles/5-6 Mins for any shopping and I would recommend the Farmers Arms at the top of the Rd if you didnt want to cook Brilliant Food & Beer

Hopefully see you next year

Excellent Location and Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Perfectly located, lovely, clean and well equipped cottage. Right on the beach with a beautiful garden. The views over Morcambe Bay are magnificent even though the tide does not come close to the cottage.

The location is within easy reach of all the best places in the Lake District.

Owner's Response: Thank you for this review. I'm sorry the tide didn't come in for you - The week before we had it right up to the stones just outside the gate but there is a huge tidal range. We like to provide a tide table at the cottage but they are increasingly hard to get hold of. I hope you will be able to return when the sea is in! Rose

Beautiful view and access to very quiet sand flats.

  • 4 of 5

Lovely bungalow with nice big conservatory , well equipped small kitchen . Has fishermans cottage feel to it. Has a well lived in feel to it , not modern or pristine . However having two dogs we were very happy with it as not paranoid about dogs getting wet or leaving hairs etc . I would describe it as characterful and warm . We loved it so much we have already booked two weeks next year as one week did not feel long enough. This is my new favourite holiday location so much to do on the lakes and round about .
