Let's get this out of the way first. As a property this villa is pretty decent and is in a great location (well if you moved it out of the town but we'll get onto that later) and is managed by a very attentive and understandable Eugenia. The problem is everything else.
From the moment we arrived on the 1st of August till we left the vibe was off at the villa. It might be due to Italian culture or us as Brits being used to something different but with Eugenia's parents (who live right above you during the stay) had really poor and off-putting body language.
Quite often things were moved, changed, altered without telling us by the 'owners' just to suit their own needs rather than ours. The pool was in a state 24/7, partly because yes there are a load of insects in the area, but partly because the whirlpools nor the cleaning systems were turned on for most of the day, for no real reason given to us.. as when we checked, they clearly worked (money saving!?).
Yet the weirdest thing was having guests, unbeknown to us arrive at the property and just begin using the pool and garden without saying who they are or anything, during our stay. Now when we see an advertised villa stating its 'private, for your use only' I'm pretty sure 9/10 people would assume that would discount any random guests of the owners appearing and using the villa that is to your disposal.
The villa itself is in pretty good condition though there is no Oven or Dishwasher, which I would re-iterate here, as its something we missed sorely. As for the WI-FI it is more offline than online so if you want to work on holiday this is a villa not for you.
Also just as a heads up, although the beach is 500m away, it's more of a realistic 1000m away due to the way you need to walk to get down to it.
As for the town of Silvi, it's pretty boring, run-down with very little going on, I imagine due to the last financial crash that hit the city hard.
Overall though, the management of the villa by Eugenia was first class with her answering any of our queries very quickly... but its more the vibe and the existing occupants and their reluctance to make you feel at home that really hurt our stay.
Our Italian holiday spent at Villa Ge in Silvi Marina was unforgettable.
The villa is located on top of a hill, gently touched by a light breeze, which turned out to be very pleasant in this year's hot summer.
The flat is located on the ground floor, it is big and beautifully furnished. We could eat outdoor next to a lovely garden (we loved the palm!) and a clean swimming pool. This set up was extremely convenient for our family of four. The flat, the patio and the garden are fully equipped.
We really appreciated the warm Italian welcome. The daughter of the owners, who also manages the flat, was very helpful. The owners live on the first floor of the villa, they were very discreet and they quickly satisfied our requests.
We definitely recommend the place and we are planning to come back next year.
