Delaware has always been home to Cheryl. Her adventuresome spirit though is quick to lead her off the beaten path. Whenever opportunity arises, she is ready to go. She readily keeps a small bag packed with the bare essentials at all times. Cheryl has always juggled her love for the water with her love for the mountains. As an active member of Fleet 106 for many years, she crewed for HOBIE 16's and 18's in regattas up and down the east coast and on the national circuit. Her love for alpine skiing lead her to becoming a ski coach and instructor for 12 years in Killington, VT. Cheryl is always dishing up some of her fantastic gourmet recipes for her family and friends and eagerly shares her tried and true techniques with anyone willing to share a glass of good wine and stay in the kitchen with her as her sous chef. Her love of fine food and teaching lead her to enrolling in cooking school and eventually teaching and directing her own school, La Chapelle. Cheryl's professional background is in Nursing with a focus in Pediatrics and Home Health Care. She is outgoing, engaging and comfortable with all kinds of people and looks forward to sharing her interests and home with you. Don's passion for music lead him to a career in Music Education. He served in the Delaware National Guard 287th Army Band for 6 years. As an accomplished jazz musician, he was asked to lead the Brandywine Blazer Jazz Band and accompanied them on a good will tour through central Europe. Over the years he has had the privilege of performing in many nationally known big bands, the likes of Bob Crosby, Guy Lombardo and Tex Beneke, the original Glenn Miller Band. Don loves a good conversation, gardening and live theatre. We enjoy sharing our home with others and meeting new people. As lifelong residents of the area, we can provide you with suggestions for "what to see & where to go" while you enjoy your stay in our home.

Wonderful place to celebrate our anniversary and enjoy many of the sites in the area like Longwood Gardens, Winterthur, Wyeth's museums, etc.
Great home away from home!
The owners of this property have thought of everything to make the accommodations comfortable and inviting. The suite is spotless and includes a mini fridge and freezer as well as wine glasses, snacks and everything you need for coffee and tea. The linens are all fine quality and the neighborhood is pretty and convenient to everything. We enjoyed touring the nearby parks and museums and even managed a little tax free shopping! We met the owners the last day and enjoyed a nice chat. We hope to return before too long!
We loved hosting you and await your return. There is still so much for you to explore.

Private, CLEAN, Pampered
We had a wonderful stay at this VRBO. Cheryl and Don thought of every detail. We were very pampered here. The suite is exactly as pictured and so much more. From the fresh baked goodies upon arrival to the first morning's breakfast, there were surprises befitting a boutique hotel; high quality toiletries, two types of blow dryers one with a diffuser for curly hair (yay!), lush bedding and towels (all immaculately clean), a well-equipped studio kitchen that even included dishwashing service! The check-in is easy as can be and there was even a welcome card for us. Be prepared to be spoiled.
This was the perfect suite to use as a home base for exploring Longwood Gardens, Du Pont mansions, and museums in the Brandywine area. There is a Trader Joe's half a mile away. Everything is convenient here.
We made use of the neighborhood walking trail that went around two small lakes and had fitness stations along them.
We really enjoyed meeting and chatting with Cheryl and Don. They were such engaging hosts and a delight to get to know. (This was at our request. If you want privacy they will honor that as well.)
This is a well-earned, much-deserved five star VRBO.
Kathleen and John,
As seasoned travelers, you are the type of guests that make our job as hosts a joy! Keep going on that Bucket List of garden experiences and come back whenever you need another pampered VRBO experience.

Terrific suite - very comfortable!
I would recommend staying here to any single person or couple. Terrific view out the bedroom window - open space with trees. Such a great alternative to a hotel.
Tanya was traveling here on business so she was able to take advantage of our late and early self check-in. She shared with me that she enjoyed a walk around the lake before work. She came and went quietly and politely and left our space clean and neat. A side note, she loved the Jelly Belly beans I set out for her. She is a welcome quest.
Sweet and comfortable suite! Perfect for our weekend getaway.
We are so happy you were comfortable in our space. Our added thoughtful touches do seem to enhance each guest’s relaxing experience in our home. We would be happy to host you anytime you care to further explore our beautiful and historic Brandywine Valley.

Charming, comfortable apartment
We enjoyed our weeklong stay at this lovey suite. It was very comfortable and nicely decorated. It was well appointed with everything a traveler could want. Cheryl and Don are excellent hosts with great communication. If you are in the Wilmington area, this was far superior to a hotel. I highly recommend it and would stay here again. Thanks again Cheryl and Don!
We hope to host you anytime you are in our area. The Brandywine area is so rich in history and beauty it is hard to take it all in in one week.
