This Mountain Getaway is located in the Heart of the Rockies and is available to rent as your Colorado Vacation Home. Located in the historic Alpine Townsite, this 4 bedroom 2 3/4 bath is the perfect place for that (get away from it all) vacation. If you want seclusion but close to activities, THIS IS IT!
4-wheeling, fishing at nearby streams and lakes, horseback riding, river rafting, and Mt. Princeton Hot Springs are just minutes away. In the winter enjoy snowmobiling, cross country skiing, downhill skiing and snowboarding at nearby Monarch Ski Area. Or just sit by the fire and enjoy the view!! (We are in the Mountains!! 4 wheel drive may be required in Winter Months.)
This is our 4 th stay at Alpine Cabin. Always clean and well stocked.
Plenty of room to spread out and relax.
Morning coffee on the deck looking at the mountains is my favorite part of the day at this wonderful home. Evenings are peaceful with the sounds of a creek flowing near by and the wind whistling through the pines and aspens.
If you are ATV or UTV rider, this place offers plenty of parking for multiple truck/ trailer combos and your are close to some great trails.
We will return next year!!!!
I can speak for my entire family and say our stay at Alpine Cabin could not have been any better! Our group ranged in age from upper 60's down to age 2. The two spacious living spaces worked very well for us. The baby went to bed downstairs earlier than the adults who played cards or set on the deck watching the incredible sunsets over the mountains. We saw a bear the evening we arrived - a real treat! We've been in Colorado many times but that was a first. We fly fished Wright Lake and Chalk Creek a short distance from the cabin and feasted on our catch one evening . In addition to sight seeing and hiking we fed chipmunks at St. Elmo, attended the musical event at the park in Buena Vista, watched the rodeo kayakers, and shopped in Buena Vista and Salida. The week passed too quickly! The housekeeper keeps the cabin very clean and was kind enough to mail us a couple items we left. Next trip we'll bring our four wheelers--easy access to trails from the cabin. Should we return to the area with a big group, we'll book here again!!
I'll be honest, at first we were not really looking to be so far out from Buena Vista. A lot of other stuff was booked, but this house looked nice. Let me just say that our stay was amazing. The house is so adorable, and perfect for Colorado. The view from the deck is perfect. Although you are a bit of a drive from Buena Vista/Salida (which they will tell you up front), it is well worth it. It is so peaceful out here, and there are so many adventures to go on nearby. There are TONS of trails, jeep trails, hiking. There are two cemeteries not far from the home that are very interesting, and neat to see. St. Elmo/Tin Cup pass is so close by! Mt Princeton Hot Springs is down the rode. Honestly, you just need to go into town to get groceries for your stay - and you would really never have to venture into town again. We did go into town a couple times to eat, but that was our choice. That drive was really not too bad either. Their directions were concise, and the house was pretty easy to find. I absolutely LOVED this house, and would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you so much for our wonderful stay, it made my 30th Birthday exactly what I wanted! Full of adventure, and then relaxation when we needed it! :)
This is a great house with everything that you need for multiple families
Lots of extras for a mtn property with wi-fi ,
Cable TV, foosball and nice views off the back deck. It's tucked back off the highway so it's a bit of a drive to Burma Vista, Salida, or Skiing
However, it is a beautiful drive. Nice place that easily accommodates multiple families comfortably
I would give this cabin a good rating, but the location is not ideal. The property is very clean, well cared for. Beds are comfortable, linens as well and there are plenty of towels, kitchen essentials, etc. However, this is in a dense development. The photo of the lake on the vrbo website is not of anything visible from the house. In fact, you are looking basically straight at some neighbors. I was disappointed to drive so far out of such a small town (30 mins from buena vista, 35-40 salida), through national forest, and then come to a development. My fault for not investigating the location more carefully, but I did think the photos were a little misleading.
Can't beat the location and the home atmosphere. Perfect for a gateway into the mountains with hotsprings, hiking, ghost towns, moose, bear, deer etc. right around the corner. Very pleasant owners and home. Thanks!
