Villa Jerome was designed for 12 people (10 + 2 children). Ideal for small groups of friends or families with children of all ages. .
Peace and comfort:
Villa Jerome combines the best of two worlds: the peace of a small upscale condominium with all the services a hotel would provide, a safe gateway and 24-hour security, cleaning, a restaurant on a 32 m swimming pool, bordering the beach. We offer you as well the services of a friendly and attentive staff that will release you from all your worries, kitchen, childcare service, etc.
The complex was designed to preserve nature, especially water bodies. On the way to the beach, you will find wooden bridges overlooking a small salty river within the lush vegetation.
Authenticity and activities:
Bonita Village is located in front of the sea, in a large tropical garden with direct access to Las Ballenas beach, one of the country's most attractive beaches. Villa Jérôme, 100 m away from the beach, offers an extraordinary location with sea views and 2 swimming pools. It is both far from the bustle and hustle, just a few minutes away from an assortment of activities and from the authentic local life. Far from the mass tourism sites, as Punta Cana or Puerto Plata, Las Tarrenas is a fishermen's village, where visitors and friendly locals live the daily life in harmony. Leisure activities will satisfy the most demanding clients: besides the nautical activities of the Caribbean, you will discover an outstandingly preserved natural environment. You will also discover the 'fishermen's village' (Pueblo de los Pescadores) 1.5 km away with its many good beach restaurants serving sea food in particular, some of them with French chefs.

About Jérome Exertier
We are a large family with young children and live in southern France. In 2008 we built 'Villa Jerome and 'Casa Fabienne' after falling in love with the place during a tourist trip.
Jérome Exertier purchased this House in 2008
Why Jérome Exertier chose Las Terrenas
We enjoy having friends at Las Terrenas. After more than 30 travels in 6 years, they all have fallen in love with the region and the local people. 'Bonita Village' complex is definitely the best place is Las Terrenas. Villa Jerome, with its 2 swimming pools and its sea view will not let you down. Have some nice holidays!

The place is very nice and spacious. The views are breath taking. Small problem with sugar ants but nothing bad other than that.
Could have been EXCELLENT but falls short
16 of us stayed a week and the house looks just like the pictures...it's a beautifully designed, sprawling property that has nooks and corners for everyone. If you want to spend time as a group - you can, if you need 'a break' and some quiet time, there are plenty of spaces to do that too. The bedrooms were all great but the top level master bedroom is stunning. With views and breezes that are made for relaxation. On a clear night, you can stars for miles. STUNNING. Now - to the bad part-
When we got there (about 30 min early) - the house was a wreck. The housekeeper claimed that the last tenants left late so she wasn't able to get everything done. To be honest I'm not sure how 1-2 people are supposed to turn over that entire house in four hours (assuming check out is as 11). It's just too much to do. So while she did her best our first night the house (including all the bathrooms) etc were not thoroughly clean.
Then we lost electricity, which of course is a common occurrence in the DR but then the generator also went down. I had to call property managers and they came right away and claimed this shouldn't have happened, but of course it happened at least 2 more times in the next couple of days.
Then we were without hot water for the first three days. It's the tropics and a little cold water shower was refreshing but if EVERY bath is that it gets old - FAST. Plus we had younger children that were not enjoying it all.
Then the pool...it was FILTHY. It was clearly not cleaned before we arrived. They finally sent someone by like Wed - but again it was a few days into our stay.
Then the kitchen...we had a chef prepare lunch and dinner all week (we cooked our own breakfast). The food was great and the chefs were really nice, however the stove burners were so limited every meal was a 3-hour production. We ended up having lunch at 2-3pm every day and dinner at like 9/9:30!!! For a house that size that allows up to 12-16 people they need to upgrade the kitchen.
Also, the house (and guests) would be well-served with a brand new set of pool/beach and bath towels, color-code so they don't get mixed up.
Everyone was nice and did their best but as trip organizer I had to be on email all week with the agency managing the issues. NOT RELAXING AT ALL!!!!
We made the best of it all and tried to adopt an 'island style' mentality but for that type of house which is beautiful and meant to be 'luxury' it surely fell short on the basics.
We agree with the clients'message. The house is not made to welcome 20 persons.
Indeed, the house was used by other clients who came with the persons who rented it but were in another house and appartement.
This is why we have asked the local agency to rent the house now for 10 adults and 2 children maximum.
The 2 housekeepers who clean the house between two rentals need 4 hours to make the house clean.
The person who cleans the pool arrived at 2.00pm, if clients arrived before, indeed it could have not been cleaned. The check in is scheduled at 4.00pm.
However clients are right to say that service should be improved according to the luxury standing of the house. Following their message, the agency has decided to hire a supervisor to handle the daily problems that may occur.
We have been pleased to read that however clients appraciated the house and we hope to welcome them again with a smaller group and a service that will make them totally satisfied.
Lovely home and good for large group
We stayed a week in late January at this villa. It was a great villa for a large group as it had a number of separate convening spaces and two good size pools. While our group was only 5 people it would have worked well for double our number. We would definitely return. The bedrooms were all large but the master suite at the top level was extraordinary with its own large relaxing terrace and pool. We did have a problem getting hot water though in the three lower level bedrooms.
The housekeeper was helpful although she was only on premises for 3 - 4 hours each day and speaking Spanish was necessary.
The views were lovely and while the walk to the beach was steeper or longer than we had expected it was still doable. The Sol y Mar restaurant at the Pl Ballenas beach was also very good and convenient.
The main complaint we had was that the property management company was not very responsive. We lost power one day due to a torrential rain storm. The management company was hard to reach and when reached promised to send someone to the home. However, it was clear they didn't follow through until the next day. The electric fuse box was hidden and we probably could have fixed this ourselves if they had been more responsive. I would recommend to the owner that they leave a handy list of where to find things within the house in emergencies like the generator or fuse box. There should be a flashlight on premises as power can be lost frequently. Similarly, it would be nice to have a list of phone number contacts for things like restaurants, tour companies, hiring a chef or masseuse etc. This is common in other homes we have rented.
While there is an internet connection it is extremely slow and not very powerful as one cannot stray far from the actual router to get any connection.
Despite the concerns expressed above, we would definitely return..............but with flashlight and hoping the owner would upgrade the internet to a more powerful system.
Thanks to this family for its constructive appreciation. according to the remarks i have given to customers a technical description of the house (electricity, water,...) and also a book of welcome (restaurants, guide,...).
The agency in charge of your arrival speaks English however the staff speaks Spanish, these people are at your disposal, you can ask to the cleaning lady to stay as long as you wish and this is included in the price.
For the hot water, it works perfectly but it is necessary to let flow for a very long time because the house is very big. For internet, it is necessary to stay near the mobile border to have a good reception.
See you very soon.
Eden existe on l'a trouvé !
Located on the edge of the beautiful beach Las Ballenas, a few metres away from the villa, you will find a little friendly restaurant (5€ menu ), and its pool of 32 m long in front of the sea, where you can safely leave the children playing or have a meal delivered to the villa. From the villa you can walk along the beach (1.5 km) and get to the 'fishermen's village', with its many bars and restaurants, where you will find, besides the delicious local gastronomy, dishes from all around the world: seafood, pasta, pizza, sushi, French cuisine, paella, tapas, etc. A bit further away, the village have all sort of shopping facilities, without mentioning the daily arrival of the fishermen to the coast (with sea bream, lobster, crab, etc.) for extraordinary grills at low prices. 'Villa Jerome' has a perfect location in a safe and peaceful environment; all you could wish for your ideal holiday in Las Terrenas is near. From a trip to Los Haitises national park to bathing in the Limon waterfall's freshwater, that you can reach after a horse ride across the forest. You will also have the chance to have a quad bike ride through the 'coffee route' to discover the Dominican culture. During winter time, you can go watch whales at Samana. However, the most amazing attraction is the lush vegetation of the desert beaches where you can savour lobsters and fish, in the little cabins, by your own in front of the sea. (Bonita, Conson, Moron, and El Valle beaches). For water sports lovers, windsurfing, kite surfing, scuba diving, sailing, and diving are safely available. If you love dancing, music is everywhere; you can take dance lessons in a cheerful and friendly environment. We recommend you to visit the 'Indian's museum', on the way to Samana, with all your family. If you really want to enjoy this amazing nature, we recommend, to rent scooters and going all over the little paths to discover the desert beaches, the typical small villages and the friendly people of the area.
