Located within the Mauna Lani Resort, The Islands at Mauna Lani is a private, gated community consisting of only 46 luxury townhouses upon 22 lushly landscaped acres. Your Residence is large, spacious, and very private, constructed to the very highest standards, featuring white oak floors on the first level, 10’ ceilings with perimeter soffits, crown mouldings and some rooms with white oak ceilings. Your home is fully air conditioned with separate zones for upstairs and downstairs, but with the gentle trade winds and the fact that this residence is located at the end of the building the breezes will make you feel like you are really in Paradise. For the exclusive use of Islands residents is a pool and recreation complex where water falls over a rock grotto into a free form swimming pool and including two entertainment pavilions, a whirlpool spa, full kitchen and professional quality, gas barbecues.
A gated, landscaped courtyard precedes entry through massive, etched glass doors into the spacious living room looking beyond to the lake and golf course. Two large, upstairs master suites (one with king bed and one with two doubles) each have their own full bath with large soaking tub and separate shower. Each suite has a furnished, private balcony overlooking the lake and golf course. A full kitchen, large living room, separate dining room, downstairs powder room, laundry room, and detached two-car garage round out this contemporary, 2,200 square foot luxury townhouse. On the ground level, facing the golf course, are spacious covered lanais and outdoor patios with enclosed wet bar and gas barbecue.
Guests enjoy reduced fee golf privileges at the Francis H. I'i Brown North and South golf courses and entry to the private Mauna Lani Beach Club and Beach Club Restaurant/Bar, a beautiful protected, white sand beach perfect for snorkeling or just swimming.
The Islands is located near the Mauna Lani Spa, the Beach, Golf, Tennis and Racquet club, the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel, the Fairmont Orchid Hotel, and the newly constructed Shops at Mauna Lani. Many of these facilities are located within easy walking distance, and bicycles are also provided for the use of our guests.

The Islands project consists of 46 luxury dwelling units located on 22 lushly landscaped acres (almost 1/2 acre per dwelling unit)behind private gates in the heart of the Mauna Lani Resort community. Unit F-4 is a professionally decorated, two-story townhome overlooking a lake, the #15 Green and the #16 Fairway of the famed Mauna Lani North Course and with views of Mauna Kea Mountain and Observatory. It is distinguished by very large rooms and open areas, including two master suites within 2,200 square feet of living area plus a courtyard, private lanais and an oversized, detached two-car garage.
The condo itself is wonderful. It has a lovely view of the golf course from the lanais, and being an end unit, it is very quiet and private. The beds are comfy, and the rooms are spacious. You are only 20 minutes away from the shops by foot. Unfortunately, some things needed fixing. Bennett, the property manager, was quite helpful and fixed the two things that broke while we were there: the dishwasher tray and the lock on the side door of the garage. The latter caused some trauma since the prior renters had left with the remote for the garage door and left that remote in their rental car when they returned it. The golf clubs were, naturally, in the garage, and being a Saturday, Bennett could not find any locksmith open in Kona. Fortunately, I found a locksmith in Hilo who actually was working on a Saturday, had a job half way to the Kohala Coast, and was willing to come. We finally rescued the golf clubs, and Bennett had the lock fixed so that it would never happen again, but we lost the tee time and the entire day and had to reschedule at greater cost. To be fair, the incident would not have happened had the remote been available, and an owner cannot be responsible for a renter's lapses. The rest of the stay was lovely and not quite so eventful, even though the swells were too big for clear snorkeling, but there are lots of other things to do.
It was our first time in Hawaii and we had a great time. Especially with this super nice condo. When we arrived, everything was clean and nicely arranged.
We spent 7 nights there and you definitely won't get bored even if you stay there for two weeks. There are so many activities you can do that are so close to the apartment: Wonderful golf course, tennis courts, gym, beach, hiking, jogging, bike riding, paddle boarding, snorkeling, swimming and many more. If you have a car I'd recommend going on top of Mauna Kea or to Hilo (after 20 minutes of driving you feel like being on another island - the vegetation changes extremely).
The condo itself is equipped with everything you need. The nicest thing was the barbecue outside. You can enjoy a nice dinner on the terrace with an awesome view over the golf course.
I think it's a perfect place for two or thee couples or a family with children.

We spent a week at the condo and we loved it. It is exactly as described on the website, ideal location, a beautiful view and well kept. Our nearby activities included a trip to Kona, swimming with dolphins, exploring surrounding beaches (Mauna Kea and Hapuna), visiting the observatory and a longer excursion to the southern part of the island. The shops at the Mauna Lani are a stones throw from the condo and have a large selection if one wants to cook at home. In summary the long travel from Spain was worth it, we had a great time at the unit.

I have stayed several times at the F4 and absolutely love it. It is truly perfect for the ideal Hawaiian getaway. The condo is a short walk from the beaches, shops, tennis courts (sport services), spa and golf course. It is also located close to other resorts if one is seeking a night out. We had dinner several times at the condo, mostly using the barbecue, which worked very well. We loved watching the gorgeous sunset from our dinner table and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings of the F4. The property manager was always available if we needed assistance or had any questions. I highly recommend this unit, we had a wonderful experience and look forward to coming again soon!
We just concluded our second stay at the property. On each occasion, my wife and I have gone with another couple. The place is absolutely perfect for two couples as the two upstairs living suites are virtually identical and provide everything that we could ask for. We had our choice and it took us about 30 min. to decide which we would take. The unit is perfectly located and the golf course seems to be a perfect backyard. The unit had everything we wanted and our stay for five nights could not have been better. The property manager is a great guy who could not have done more to make our stay comfortable and thoroughly enjoyable. He was totally accessible and gladly shared his local knowledge of restaurants with us. We enjoy all the comforts of home but with all of the spectacular beauty and amenities that go with Hawaii. We hope to go back next time with some of our children and grandchildren as the unit would be absolutely perfect for a group of that size with small children. There is nothing else we could have asked for.
We stayed at the property for over a week and it was great! Walking distance from the beach, shops, golf, and the spa/sports center. Perfect for active people who love being out in the beautiful Hawaiian sun and ocean.
We spent our days jogging in the morning, snorkeling/swimming/paddleboarding/spa services in the afternoon, reading books as the sun went down and enjoying the company of friends and loved ones while barbequing in the evening. While during this trip we weren't able to take advantage of going into town (Kona) since there was so much to do nearby, it's only a short distance away by car and a great small town to go into and spend a day in. A perfect place to get away with your family and friends.
The newest experience on the Big Island is either of the ZIP Lines, as well as the Manta Ray adventures in the evenings. Your concierge will be more than happy to make arrangements for this as well as several self guided tours around the Island and a day trip to the Most Active Volcano in the World, don't miss it or the Farmers Market in Hilo! A list of Farmers Markets will be provided so you can experience the fresh fruit and produce of the Island. The Big Island Goat cheese is another of the Islands gastronomic delights.
