Great Ski House Right on the Mountain

  • 5 of 5

My family & I had a great stay over a 3-day weekend at The Chalet. All 3 of my children brought friends and there was plenty of room for all, plus another couple! The ski storage in the basement is ingenious and very easy. Great to have a washer/dryer, too. The beds were comfortable and the house was immaculate when we arrived. It was great to be able to get on the trails at Sundayt River with such a short walk, and be able to come "home" for lunch, to boot. The owners were prompt and attentive, and I would absolutely recommend this rental to friends.

A slopeside home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We've been coming to The Chalet, (we call it "the big house") annually for about a decade. It's inviting, well laid out, appointed and cozy. There's always wood available for using the fantastic fireplace in the open (25 foot ceiling) living room, a great place for après-ski . The dining/kitchen area comfortably sits our group of 9 and has everything that you would need to prepare most meals. With 4 separate bedrooms and a large "bunk room" there are plenty of separate spaces to easily have quiet and down time for families and different schedules. The first and second floor bathrooms means never having to wait to shower. The ski room in the basement is perfect to get geared up for the slopes then head up the stairs to the outside and a 1 minute walk to the Roadrunner trail. Additionally the side and circular driveway can accommodate 5 - 6 cars. We love our time at "the big house", it's the highlight of our ski season at Sunday River and look forward to it every year. We had an excellent stay at the Chalet!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved the Chalet, its location, and the owners were friendly and easy to work with. Plenty of space for people, and a great "big room". The only thing was that there is no heat upstairs (at least that we found) it was -9 one night, so it was a little chilly up there (Im sure this is just because of the extreme temperature), but they do provide electric blankets, and some of the heat does rise, but it was a little chilly. We are hoping to be back next year!

Great ski house on mountain

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 6 stayed here for 3 nights. Beds were comfortable; great fireplace with roomy comfortable couches; convenient layout; we came in after skiing and never left.

great house for a long weekend

  • 5 of 5

There were 9 of us for a ski/ride weekend, and we found the house in nice condition (even a care package awaited us!). Some in the group complained that the beds were not comfortable, but I personally didn't think much of it. Other than walking 2 minutes to the ski trail, we never felt that we wanted to leave the house. Lots of space for meals, games, drinking, fireplace, music, etc.

Great ski in/ski out

  • 5 of 5

We rented the house for Presidents week - there were 5 adults, 2 children and a dog. The house was great - lots of room, great facilities, a very short walk to the slopes and to a local restaurant, Barker Mountain and Southside. We would thoroughly recommend this house to anyone.
