Spacious and sunny house with pool, just 10mins from Montpellier Medieval city centre, and 20mins from the beaches. The house is located in a very quiet and exclusive residential area in the Northern part of Montpellier. It is surrounded by a large garden (1500 sq meters) and has a south facing swimming pool (10x4m), a very pleasant al fresco eating area under a climbing vine tree, and a few sun bathing areas nearby the pool. The bedrooms on the first floor lead to a very large terrace, ideal for sun bathing, practising your yoga, or reading.
The very large double living room has a separate TV area with DVD and CD player, and another more formal south facing sitting area with bay windows opening onto a stone terrace and overlooking the pool. A separate dining room with piano and the open kitchen directly lead to the living room.
The house benefit from being next to the most exclusive tennis club in Montpellier with spa and gym facilities (Club7). Local shops, including a newsagent, boulangerie, pharmacy, epicerie and the best Deli in Montpellier are just 5mins walk down the hill. It is conveniently located 5 minutes walk to the Tram station, 15 minutes drive from Montpellier Airport and 20 mins from the beaches.
Montpellier and its region offer fantastic tourist attractions, with its Music, Dance and Theatre Festivals, but also with the proximity of the sea, a few golf clubs, and its vineyards. There is a wide selection of beautiful country walks, but also cultural sites such as Saint Guilhem le Desert village, the Basilica of Maguelonne, Aigues Mortes, St Martin de Londres, Pezenas, Uzes, or The Pont du Gard to name just a few.
“This house was perfect, we couldn’t really hope for a better place to stay! We loved the deco of this house, it has a great personal touch to it and felt like home immediately. The kitchen is well equipped for those of us who liked cooking, there is a proper dining room inside, with a piano, and a BBQ eating area outside under the vine trees, lots of sun chairs and a seating area by the pool as well which we used everyday. We used the tram to go to town as it was just 5 minutes walk from the house, and very convenient, but could well have rented a bicycle.
Montpellier is a gorgeous Medieval city with a very young buzz to it, it’s got lots of lovely shops, good restaurants and wine bars. We also loved visiting Sommière, Uzes, Pezenas or Sète which are beautiful nearby villages… The beaches are less than 20 minutes drive, so we could go there for a few hours in the morning, have lunch in one of those private beach restaurants, our feet in the sand, and go back in the afternoon to relax by the pool or go straight to visit Camargue with its stunning walled medieval village called Aigues Mortes and its surrounding pink salt marsh.
We highly recommend staying at this house for a true experience of Montpellier and the Languedoc region!
A beautiful and a clean house with walking distance to all commerce. A perfect house to spend a vacation with kids because of a nice garden and the pool. There is also a great parc next to the house with a playing ground and perfect for a walk or jogging. The owner was very friendly and speaks good english. Montpellier is such a nice town!
The Languedoc-Roussillon has much to offer as a holiday destination, including fabulous beaches and enough sightseeing to keep everyone happy. In this sun-drenched corner of the south of France, you'll find sandy beaches lapped by the Mediterranean sea, wild open spaces in the Cevennes hills, monasteries and castles for Languedoc sightseeing, and vineyards where you can taste some of the very renown local wines. Montpellier is one of the liveliest cities in the south of France, and the capital of the Languedoc Roussillon. The centre of activity is the Place de la Comedie. This large ‘Place’ is buzzing days and nights with bars, cafés and cinemas, and directly next to the chic shopping streets, the Museums (Musée Fabre) and the Opera Houses. Less than an hour and a half from Montpellier, you can feast your eyes on such destinations as Sète, Pezenas, St Guilhem le Desert, St Martin de Londres, Aigues Mortes, the Pont du Gard, Uzès, Nimes, Arles, Carcassonne walled Medieval City, and the Canal du Midi. And even closer, just on the other side of the Thau Lagoon (Bassin de thau), you can visit authentic fishing villages, with oyster farmers, and vineyards who welcome visitors year round.
For those Golf amateurs, there are at least 4 golf clubs half an hour away from th house: Massanne, Coulondres, Laverune, and La Grande Motte.
