Great View

  • 5 of 5

This is a very Charming apartment. The view doesn't get any better. It was a little confusing to get to as GPS doesn't allow you to land directly at the property. We were escorted by Pina and her son.... The rooster definitely crowed every morning. It didn't bother any of us considering the time difference for us. We found a great restaurant and bar, Gerry's pub. Awesome food. We loved Gerry. Grocery store right in the little village, and a path way down to the local Amalfi town and beach right there. We had to take taxi or bus back up. We were to tired to walk back up. We came at the end of the season so it wasn't very crowded. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

"The Rose Garden" really is this beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

Sometimes, pictures let you down because the actual place is not quite what was depicted -- but "The Rose Garden" really is as beautiful as the pictures. The apartment was lovely and perfect for the three of us but it is designed to accommodate four persons comfortably. The owner, Pina, is a warm and generous host -- we liked her immensely. We did have a little trouble finding "The Rose Garden" but her son, Antonio, appeared at just the right moment to direct us. The car park is most definitely an asset -- without it, one would have to walk a distance and it is mountainous terrain, after all. In addition to the place and the view, the quiet was noteworthy -- the only noise was that of roosters crowing in the morning and the very occasional car. If you have never been to a mountainous coast, you may find the roads rather harrowing but we navigated them without incident. And the views from the roads are nothing short of breathtaking. That, of course, can sound, cliche-ish but truly, rounding some of those mountain roads and seeing structures perched on the very edge of high cliffs overlooking a spectacular sea can take one's breath away. We had leisurely mornings in the garden and then embarked on our travels to visit other towns on the Amalfi Coast. As wonderful as our afternoons were, we looked forward to returning to the quiet and beauty of "The Rose Garden" where we cooked dinner in a kitchen area that had everything we needed. After dinner, we sipped Pina's homemade Lemoncello -- a perfect end to perfect days. I cannot wait to return and I cannot recommend "The Rose Garden" highly enough -- and of course, it is in Italy. "The Rose Garden" is a little gem in a big gem of a country. Thank you, Pina and thank you, Italy. JL, Minneapolis

Beautiful home, fantastic location & wonderful host

  • 5 of 5

We have just recently returned home from staying at The Rose Garden. Easy to find, Pina and her family were incredibly welcoming with a tasy chocolate cake for our arrival. The kitchen and living space was ample for four adults, both bedrooms comfortable with super quick wifi. The garden with its sea view was stunning, and we enjoyed BBQ's in the warm evenings. The peace and quiet in this area ensures a peaceful stay, with the local residents friendly and helpful. It is approx 20mins to Amalfi, Postino Sorrento, Pompeii and Herculaneum around 45-1hr which was not a problem at all as driving the Amalfi coast this time of year is quite easy and worth it. Do not miss Ravello either around 20 mins by car. Pina also kindly took us to Amalfi so we could catch the ferry to Capri, which was really kind. Overall I would really reccomend the rose garden, and will be returning again soon. Thankyou Pina for such a lovely holiday 😘 X

Lovely space, but make sure you have a car

  • 2 of 5

We overall enjoyed our recent stay at The Rose Garden and would recommend it if certain factors improved.

Pros: Gorgeous views, quiet neighborhood, cute neighborhood cats, short drive to cities along the Amalfi coast

Cons: Located in a residential neighborhood far away from groceries or shops, access to public transportation is limited, no toilet paper provided, did not provide internet access as advertised, scary drive up the mountain

Pina was a fantastic host and greeted us with a homemade meal, dessert, and limoncello upon our arrival. She was receptive and responsive when things went wrong (stove was broken, power went out twice, and lack of internet access). Not a single square of toilet paper was provided, unfortunately. The house has updated features and was clean otherwise.

Pina informed us that there was to be no internet access during our stay, which was a significant problem for us because we would not have chosen this location if there was no internet access. It really put a damper on our stay because had to book travel, get some work done, etc. We felt very isolated, which was bad for us, but may be good for you depending on your plans! Make sure you have comfortable walking shoes because the nearest grocery store is just short of an hour-long walk.

Owner's Response: Good evening. I would like to to excuse for not having fulfilled all   your needs, if you allow me would like to   also express my opinion: Given the winter period, unfortunately   you encountered a week with bad weather conditions, that damaged electricity by creating problems at home   and by making the external environment does not   pleasant and isolated, in that other activities extralberghiere closed. I want to clarify, during the low season,   links public transport is limited and the shops It is 5 minutes away by car. I am Mortified,   (IF WAS NOT PRESENT) services the area toilet paper, service that I consider important,   (MY DISTRACTION). Thank you! For your tips, I apologize, I never meant to to make you unpleasant your living room . I will give all of myself, so that my guests always feel at home!                                             PINA

Fabulous Outdoor & Indoor space and Hospitality

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this wonderful Apartment for 9 days with 2 young children in early April. It was perfect spring weather, sunny for all the days except one. We were welcomed by Pina and her family with a delicious homecooked meal upon our arrival. We enjoyed her hospitality throughout our stay. As for the Apartment itself, it is clean, it has a private parking space for 1 car, fabulous 180 degree views of the Sea with Sun throughout the day in case you want to lounge out in the private garden. Interior matches up with the exterior with a nice functional kitchen, 2 bedrooms, with one bedroom leading into another. There's a king size bed and 2 twin beds comfortable enough for 4 people, and there's a sofa bed which we never used. The beds and pillows were amply comfortable. The house is also equipped with a washer, a must have for us.

As for the location, be aware that this is on the Amalfi coast high on the hills and you need a car to move around. The drive around Amalfi coast could be tricky if you are not used to narrow, winding, steep grade roads. From the Apartment, the nearest grocery/supermarket store is about 10 minutes, Town of Amalfi about 15 mins, Positano about 30 minutes, Sorrento about 50 minutes. Be sure to stock up before you arrive.

There are quite a few restaurants in the nearby towns of Conca dei Marini, Amalfi and in Furore. We had the best pizza at "La Selva" in Furore and "Donna Stella" in the town of Amalfi. Mind you, most of the restaurants only make Pizzas for dinner.

Exellent value for money in an ideal location

  • 4 of 5

From initial enquiry Pina was very prompt in replying and providing information about the property and area. The description on the website is accurate. Pina was in contact in the week prior to our holiday with instructions and contact details. On our arrival Pina met us at the property and gave a good tour. She also prepared a homemade lunch which was fantastic and much appreciated. She also provided a selection of vegetables from her garden. The property met our needs perfectly and we spent most of our time in the front garden admiring the fantastic views of the Amalfi Coast both by day and night. The area has some good walks if you are comfortable with hills and local shops are excellent once you have found them. We found a very good map of the village in the property which identified all shops and facilities in Conca dei Marini, which was perfect. The property is in a typical rural village setting away from hustle and bustle.
