A charming and comfortable chalet in unique region

  • 5 of 5

We have visited Muhlebach on a number of occasions and stayed at chalet Ullmann. The village and its surroundings are unique. This is a corner of Switzerland that hasn't changed much over the years. It is a place where one can still admire the traditional farmhouses and wooden chalets dating back to medieval times, built into small communities with streets too small to accomodate modern-day traffic. It is an oasis of peace and tranquility, away form the hustle and bustle of modern Switzerland. It is an ideal setting for a holiday filled with history and alpine vistas. The nearby village of Ernen is equally charming and is home to a world famous music festival during the summer. The Ullmann chalet is built in traditional style but equipped with modern conveniences. It provides a comfortable basis from which to explore theregion and its many attractions. Its setting is beautiful with great views of the surrounding mountains. All in all a charming holiday retreat!

Een heerlijk chalet in een schitterende omgeving

  • 4 of 5

  • 5 of 5

Wij komen graag terug in augustus!

prachtige plek, mooi uitzicht, "thuis"

  • 5 of 5

  • 4 of 5

Chalet Ullmann:

Charming, cozy and comfortable chalet with light oak floors in all areas.

The chalet has recently been beautifully renovated keeping the original wooden exterior and interior walls and a beautiful location with stunning views of the snow capped mountains.

The tranquility of the area and the authenticity of the ancient village of Mühlebach, a gem with narrow medieval streets and the oldest wooden houses, barns and stables of Switzerland, making it particularly attractive whole. This old village is set back from the mountain and is crowned with a charming white chapel on a beautiful and tranquil hump.

The old village Ernen, which is within walking distance, won in 1979, even the memorial prize. Ernen, former chief town of Goms, in the village square, the town hall and the old jail with beautiful murals, in age dating back to 15 th century, bears witness to medieval grandeur.

A special attraction in Ernen is St. Georg church, which was built between 1510 and 1518, partly on the foundations of a Romanesque basilica from the year 1100. In the church are wooden statues of saints dating from the 16th to 18th centuries, partly from the building in Mühlebach, which in 1673-1676 was the chapel of Mühlebach in place.

The annual classical concerts and international master classes during the summer months in this church, given by renowned musicians, Ernen became known as Music Village.

From Ernen you drive through beautiful countryside to Binn, the Landschaftspark Binn Valley, the valley of the Bina. The Binn Valley is famous for its special minerals, rocks and associated flora and has been for decades, protected nature reserve.

From Binn, you can make beautiful walks, including to climb through the Albrunpas to Italy and the Breithorn and the Eggerhorn.

In June 2015 there was an official opening of the suspension bridge over the Rhone Mühlebach to Fürgangen from where walkers, cyclists and cross-country skiers access to a cable car to Bellwald or by train to Brig or to the other side, towards Oberwalden Furka and beyond to go.

The possibilities for activities in the area in all seasons are limitless, it is also very pleasing that a supermarket with post office and a bakery, as well as a tourist office and a bank in Ernen are within walking distance, all other necessary shops are easily accessible and that there is a free sport bus to Fiesch.

An evening stroll through Mühlebach along the ancient wooden houses, magically lit by a beautiful starry sky, making a stay in our chalet in Mühlebach a special experience.
