Exactly as Described!!!

This place was amazing! 24-hour grocery store right across the street, Bank ATM right next door to the grocery store, 10 minute walk to the Vatican City / St Peter's Square, lots of local eateries within minutes walking distance. The place was as pictured, beautiful spacious and clean. Would definitely recommend this place and would definitely stay here again. Owners where great to deal with and spoke English very well. Taxi ride from the historic Centre Rome back to our apartment during rush hour traffic ranged anywhere from 10 to €15, less than 10 euros when traffic was light.

Comfortable, elegant and convenient

  • 4 of 5

This was our first trip to Italy and we can highly recommend this apartment as a lovely, spacious, and clean place. It is modern and convenient wuth everything you need. It is however it a three bedroomed apartment but a two bedroom with a third sitting room. We felt very safe. There is a lovely outside porch for relaxing. We do not hesitate to highly recommend this fabulous home away from home. We also recommend using Matteo's driver to and from the airport in a luxury van and friendly service. The apartment is located about 15 minutes walk from St Peter's and also away from the main shopping areas. Taxis and busses are handy and smaller shops across the road. Would stay there again on a future visit.

Fantastic property!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 7 nights. This apartment was immaculately clean, well-maintained and had every amenity, including great air-conditioning for the sweltering Roman summer. The beds were comfortable, the linens and towels of high quality and all the appliances worked well, especially the washing machine. The living room/ dining area is spacious and both bathrooms had great showers. It was perfect for my family of five, with the little one having his own bed in the little bedroom off the master which has its own en-suite bathroom. Matteo and Marta were kind, courteous and professional and even helped to arrange our airport transfers. It is a less than 10 minute walk to the Vatican- which was our main reason for visiting Rome. It is not however in the very middle of the tourist heart of Rome. The nearest train stop is San Peitro, a 7 minute walk, which is not on either of the two main subway lines. The surrounding neighborhood felt safe. We often took a taxi home at the end of the day which was about 10 Euro from most places in the city. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Safe and Secure

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Italy and we were a bit apprehensive about staying in an apartment in a country that we were not familiar with. After arriving at the apartment, our fears were diminished. Matteo met us there and explained everything. The apartment is lovely, spacious, and clean. It is modern and convenient to everything you need. We felt very safe. We spent our evenings after our long and glorious days, on the outside porch drinking wine and recapping the adventure of the day. We do not hesitate to highly recommend this fabulous home away from home.

We also recommend using Matteo's driver to and from the airport in a luxury van! Splendid!

Nice apartment, wish we had picked a more central location

  • 4 of 5

Four of us stayed in this apartment May 25- June 1. The apartment is nicely furnished and the twin beds are reasonably comfortable. The apartment has black out shades which makes for a very dark room to sleep in. The apartment is a nice building but there are about 5 steps up to the first floor which was difficult with heavy suitcases and would be an issue for a person who had difficulty with stairs.

The apartment owner, Matteo, was very friendly and arranged for transfers both from the train station/ and to the airport. Our driver from the train station was late, as he had been given the wrong time. When we arrived we waited just a few minutes for Matteo to let us in. We were very surprised to owe more money than expected upon arrival. The initial deposit (1/4 of total rent) was charged to our credit card and the second payment for the balance was canceled and we received an email to pay it upon arrival. We did not see that in addition to the balance, there was a security fee and a cleaning fee. No big deal- it was stated, I just misunderstood it was in addition to the balance due from the rent. What was not clearly stated was that although we paid a deposit via homeaway, the apartment owner does not receive the full amount. We were only credited for the portion the owner received which essentially meant that we paid the homeaway fee, instead of the owner. I've rented from homeaway before and this was not done nor expected.

During our stay, we had no problems with the apartment itself. It was lovely. The location states it is close to the Vatican and the metro stop. I don't find this to be true. We did walk to the Vatican which is roughly a mile. I would not say it is close enough that you would want to walk there and back each day especially after a long day of sightseeing. My mother is older and has some limitations with walking. The walk took us 30 minutes each way with her. Walking normally, it would be 15-20 minutes at least. We ended up using taxis to get around which most locations were 10-15 Euro taxi rides. There is a bus stop right in front if you take the time to figure out the bus system, it would probably be cheaper. Don't bother with the hop-on, hop-off bus either as the nearest stop is even further.

There is not a huge option for dining near by either. We found one decent place, but if you want to walk to dinner each night. I'd recommend staying more central.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the compliments ( "..during our stay, we had no problems with the apartment itself. It was lovely. The apartment is nicely furnished. The apartment is a nice building") that you have made to our home and the service we offered. Regarding your clarifications: - To reach our apartment there are a few steps, however, our building is equipped with concierge service that, if necessary, can help to bring the luggage in the apartment (as it was). - The driver was not late, just you have not found right away in the chaos of the station. - We are surprised that you were surprised by the balance owed. Perhaps you have confused the deposit for damages with the deposit for booking. To avoid misunderstandings, we send you a few days after booking, a summary of the amount paid as a booking deposit and the amount due on arrival .... however, it's all as indicated by the site. - You have had problems in reaching the Vatican, saying it is not true that it is near the apartment. I'm sorry, but I'm not totally agree: Google Maps shows in 10 minutes (and not in "20 minutes" or "30 minutes") walk the time to reach St. Peter's Square ... or 3 bus stops just outside the apartment ( "There is a bus stop right in front") - I do not agree either on the lack of restaurants. we have all kinds of restaurant and for all budgets just around the apartment. (see Google Maps) There is even a fresh market if you want to buy something to cook - We also gave you a list of our recommended restaurants (not just tourists). you have been excellent guests and we hope to still offer you our services on your next trip to Rome! Ciao!
