About LeAnn and Doug Bair
We completed the casita construction June 2017. It was a husband and wife effort and a lot of work, but there was never a day we didn't say "we built here because we found a spot on this earth we want to be at all the time!" Mountain living is the place to be for us who originally came from North Dakota and Ohio/Michigan/New Mexico. We generally will be at our cabin across the road at 1790 Durfee Circle.
Why LeAnn and Doug Bair chose Westcliffe
We used to love camping in the area, but campsites were consolidated and hard to find, so we bought a piece of land to camp on. One thing led to another, thus the casita VRBO building project!
What makes this Cabin unique
Peaceful outdoor mountain living is rejuvenating and healing. It is great to be off the utility grid solar energy. Always amazes us! Night skies are unbelievably peppered with stars and constellations. A star gazers must! “All men have stars, but they are not the same things for different people. For some, who are travelers, the stars are guides. For others they are no more than little lights in the sky. For others, who are scholars, they are problems... But all these stars are silent. You-You alone will have stars as no one else has them... In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars will be laughing when you look at the sky at night. You, only you, will have stars that can laugh! And when your sorrow is comforted (time soothes all sorrows) you will be content that you have known me... You will always be my friend. You will want to laugh with me. And you will sometimes open your window, so, for that pleasure... It will be as if, in place of the stars, I had given you a great number of little bells that knew how to laugh.” Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Our 5 night stay at Rancho Arturo was perfect! We were looking for a place to enjoy nature, family and hopefully snow. We found it all! The casita was immaculate, warm and comfortable. The pictures do not do it justice. It had everything we needed and more. There were so many little extras provided by the owners and their hospitality went above and beyond! We enjoyed reading through all the detailed information on the local wildlife and activities in the area. We used the walking sticks and binoculars that were provided. The property has 360 degree views of breathtaking scenery of the mountains and forest. There was plenty of acreage to take short hikes and explore. And we got to enjoy all of this with a fresh blanket of snow. We knew there was no cell or internet service as well as no cable or satellite and that's exactly how we wanted it! We were there to connect to nature and family and it was amazing! Our daughter got to see snow for the first time, our son was forced to "unplug" and they both loved it! There were no complaints and they liked it so much, they want to move there! This place is magical, peaceful, serene, beautiful and grounding. Thank you
LeAnn and Doug for sharing this special place for others to enjoy. We'll be back!
Dear Brian and family,

Very clean and well equipped! Perfect location!
We had a fabulous time at the cabin and exploring the surrounding areas. Tranquil, breathtaking views, and remote yet close to snow activities, We highly recommend this cabin! We will definitely be back.
Thank you for your kind review! We are so happy you had a great time! Hope to see you again,
LeAnn and Doug
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Doug and LeAnn's casita. They were so kind and helpful. It's on a beautiful piece of property, very secluded and relaxing. We loved our hikes on their place, it has wonderful views!! The casita is very clean and stylishly decorated. It was supplied with everything we needed to prepare our meals that we brought with us. If you are looking for some things to do close by, we highly recommend Bishop Castle, and a scenic drive to Canon City via Oak Creek Grade. We hope to stay again soon. And as someone else mentioned in a previous review, the table really does glow in the dark!!
Thank you, Roxanne, for your kind words. We are thrilled you enjoyed your stay and hope
to see you again! LeAnn and Doug
Brilliant, Off-the-Grid Escape
From the cleanliness to the careful consideration of the thoughtful supplies (Penzeys spices!) to the solitude and all the firewood one might need, this place was the perfect escape. The views are stunning with relaxing hammock views that make lazy afternoons easy. This casita is so cozy with plenty of pillows, blankets, seating and a glowing kitchen table, too! Doug and LeAnn have thought of everything. The energy of the place exudes love, peace and healing tranquility. The night skies are dark for easy stargazing . Bring a telescope! You will not want to miss out on this place.
PS there are no dispensaries in Westcliffe, so stop in Pueblo or Colorado Springs on your way in. :)
Thank you for your review!
