About Mary Castner

Merrillea Farm was built in 1795. During the 1900s it was run as a dairy farm by the Merrill family until 1952 when it was renovated as a summer home by my parents, Mildred and James Castner of Wilmington, Delaware. My mother's family had summered on Kennebunk Beach for many generations. She moved to the farm to live year-round in 1985, in order to be near her family. After her death in 1999, my sisters and I formed a partnership to preserve the land and buildings in the family for future generations.

Amazing character, Amazing History, and very homey!!

  • 5 of 5

I absolutely loved my stay here. Mary was amazing and maintained great communication throughout my stay. We loved the peace and quiet, the horses and countless other wildlife that we saw while staying here. We wanted for nothing, the house had everything we needed during our stay. We will definitely stay again. We loved it.

Fabulous house and owner!

  • 5 of 5

I have nothing but the best to say about this house and owner. Mary is a friendly cooperative and informative owner, and made me feel completely at home here!

The house is HUGE and was immaculate for our arrival...complete with flowers and a bottle of wine!

Away from the traffic of Kennebunkport, but within walking distance! Across from the Cape Arundel Golf Club, where neighbor George HW Bush plays. Lovely walks in the woods right across the street. Horses next door graze in the backyard and add to the scenery.

Much much much country charm in this lovely large home!
