About The Owner

From our family to yours welcome to our home. Over the last 28 years we have enjoyed spending time together on and off the beaches of Longboat Key doing everything including biking, boating, shelling, building sand castles, watching countless sunsets and dining out to name a few. About 9 years ago when our boys turned 15 they had more interests that kept them closer to our Sarasota home so we did not use our island home as often and decided to extend an invitation to other families to enjoy our place as much as we have.

The Owner purchased this house in 1987

Not worth dollars spent

The home was quaint but needs work. For the price we paid for 18 days it was not worth it.

For that amount of money it should have at least a bath and 1/2. It should have closets that

are completely devoid of stuff. It was not clean to our satisfaction. We had electrical problems because the electrical service as a whole needs replaced. Would not recommend it to anyone unless the price was half of what we spent.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments. My VRBO ad states clearly that my home only has one bathroom. As far as price goes there are a few determining factors which include location, time of year, amenities that are close by (including use of pool) and the house itself. When compared with equal properties I feel that I am more than competitive. Regarding closets I provide extras such as multiple pillows, comforters, chairs for unexpected company etc which do take up room but there is still plenty of space to hang clothes and store suit cases. The noted electrical problem was actually caused by the system working correctly. The bathroom outlet fuse on the gfci outlet popped when a hairdryer was being used. Maybe caused by dampness? Once plug was reset there were no further issues. Regarding cleanliness all I can say is every possible item that can be cleaned in a 5 hour period between check out and check in is. During down times there are deep cleanings, worn items are replaced and paint is touched up etc. In my opinion my house is always 99.5% clean as it’s true (my wife will attest) Im not 100% perfect all of the time

Everything you could ask for

We spent the month of February 2017 at this wonderful house. We chose it due to its location, amenities and plenty of 5-star reviews, and a 5 star it is. Brian is great to work with--there was a minor lighting problem we discovered on our first might and he was there the next morning to fix it. From the well-equipped kitchen to the comfortable beds to the very private back deck, to the quiet and peaceful neighborhood, to the 60" TV, to the pleasure of renting a house instead of an apartment or condo, we had a memorable vacation. After you get settled in for awhile it feels like home, and it was hard to leave. Longboat Key itself is an upscale, friendly and safe community with easy access to Bradenton and Sarasota, so you get a mix of relaxation and plenty of things to do. The beach, to which we had private access across the street is never crowded, and clean and lovely. There are great restaurants within walking distance. The only caveat is that if you are planning to do something inAnna Maria, Bradenton or Sarasota in late afternoon or early evening, allow at least twice as much time as your GPS figures as traffc getting off the island really backs up starting around 4 PM.
