About Robert Benito and Ruth Koski
We are a married couple who opened a music store in Ely in 1995, then built a second floor onto the retail building in 2003 which includes the apartment available for vacation rental. We have recently closed the shop and retired. Ruth grew up in northern Minnesota and returned here over 20 years ago to be closer to family. Robert grew up in Connecticut and we met when we both lived in Nashua, New Hampshire in the 70s. One of our passions is traveling and we just purchased a motor home and our plan is to be full-time RVers.

Why Robert Benito and Ruth Koski chose Ely
Ely is a small town but unique in the stores and products available locally. There are many canoe outfitters, of course, but there are also specialty shops offering locally made products. Ely has attracted artists and there are many activities/entertainment scheduled throughout the year. The International Wolf Center and North American Bear Center draw many people to the area. The Blueberry Art Festival happens during the last full weekend of July and the Harvest Moon Festival during the 2nd weekend of September. These are both held in Whiteside Park which is about 12 blocks from the apartment. The people of Ely are known for their friendliness!

Emazing place in the heart of Ely, MN
If you're looking for a comfortable and quiet get away - you've got it! Rent it before someone else does!
The site description provides detailed information about the place,. Everything was as promissed and much more ... You won't get tired by looking around. You'll keep finding beautiful decorative pieces and a personal owner's touch all over the place including tiny notes on how to use a device and/or locate a household item.
We loved this place and definitely recommend to anyone who wants to feel like home away from their home.
Robert & Beth, thanks a lot for your thoughtfulness, easy communication, and immediate responsiveness.
Thank you, Yelena! Glad it was a good experience and Thank you for leaving it so tidy.
It was very nice
We had a good time, close to downtown and wonderful areas to hike around some lakes. I recommend all restaurants highly. Had a very good experience.
We would definitely recommend and return to this property.
This 2nd level apartment was so cute, modern and comfortable; we were very pleased. It’s furnishings were nice, and the kitchen fully outfitted with quality cookware and appliances. The TV is RoKu controlled with Netflix, etc. There is also a DVD player. The hosts were so gracious and helpful, and didn’t mind us calling for this and that.
The second bedroom is separated from the master, with a futon and full bath. The dry sauna is located on that side, as well. We made good use of the sauna! So nice!
Parking is under the large outside deck, and there is an adjoining garden area with lots of perennials. There was a new Weber gas grill on the deck, along with a netted gazebo with table and chairs.
The owners do mention that that end of town can be a little noisy, and that’s true. It did not bother us, however, and we usually left the windows open. There is an AC, which we did use one night, as it was so humid. Mostly though, it was cool enough to just leave the windows open.
We walked the nearby Trezona Trail around Miner’s Lake (4 mi), walked to Insula Restaurant (best in town), The Boathouse Restaurant, Ely Steakhouse and Brittons Cafe.
The apartment is dog friendly, too. Since we were going to be gone a lot enjoying the lakes, etc. we used County Line Boarding for doggie daycare. Our pup was very happy and tired when we picked her up. The owner, Kim, really loves her fur guests, and it shows. We would recommend using her company.
Thanks for a great stay, Bob and Ruth! The Scotts, Georgetown, TX
great location, cozy, beautiful home
This is a great spot for people like us who love the outdoors but equally love the comforts of home. We enjoyed being right in the town. We were able to walk to get groceries, to rent a canoe, to the beach. A 5 minute drive to either the bear or wolf center. We fell in love with Ely's beauty and friendliness.
