Right on the River
This is our second adventure in the Columbia River Valley. However, this is our first stay in the "Tiny House". It is located less than 10 minutes from Wenatchee and 2.5 hours from Seattle. Very easy to find... the drive is marked and is guarded by a steel gate. Down the gravel drive is the Tiny House. While the house is small, it was a perfect headquarters for our adventures. The yard is green and a stark contrast to the dry hills surrounding the river. There are numerous shade and fruit trees lining the yard. The river is amazing. It is clear and one has an unobstructed view of the hills. Turtle Rock is immediately to the South and the property is perfectly situated to every advantage of the view. My wife and I paddled the canoe (provided with the rental) around Turtle Rock. It was a great way to see the river and the water skiers respected our tiny ship! We drank coffee on the dock in the mornings and it couldn't have been more peaceful. Sunsets from the dock were equally amazing.
The Tiny House was the perfect size. The queen size bed in the master bedroom had plenty of space around it, and the picture window looks out over the river. There is a stacked washer and dryer. Closet space was perfect for the 5 days we were there.
The shower had unlimited hot water and plenty of towels. The medicine cabinet was stocked with the essentials.
The A/C was supplied by a window unit upstairs, but the house is well insulated and despite the 90+ degree heat, the little house was cool.
The kitchen was just right. The cooktop and stove were handy and a standard coffee pot started the mornings off right. No dishwasher, but the two of us made quick work of the dishes. There are at least two fruit stands between Wenatchee and the Tiny House and we stopped and took of advantage of the fresh peaches and plums!
There is a screened-in porch with an awesome view of the river. The screens can be raised, so we never used them. We had no issues with mosquitos. The highway is just behind the house, and while this was a major concern of mine when booking, it proved to be a non-issue. I never thought about the road noise and it was certainly not distracting from the beauty of the property.
We are coming back to Wenatchee next year and will definitely try to stay here again! This is a great place to start an adventure.
Excellent family vacation rental
This property was perfect for us!! We had 2 twelve year old boys with my wife and I. The tiny house was so wonderful and had all we needed for hanging out at night and cooking or prepping meals for the day. The boys loved the loft and the board games Daniel had stocked up there. Spacious, well taken care of, property to throw the ball for our Stella (the dog) and the dock is so awesome for morning fishing with the boys, swimming and lounging the rest of the day. We don't have a boat but there is a private boat launch there if we did. We did paddle around with the canoe Daniel has there in the am before the skiing started and the water got choppy. The view is stunning!
Daniel was so wonderful and communicative. He and his family clearly care very much about this property and the experience that everyone has that comes there.
It is about 25 minutes to Leavenworth (depending on traffic and about 40-45 minutes to Chelan. Check out Lincoln Rock Park just down the road (if you have a park pass you can get in free). It is one of my favorite parks and camp sites. There is hiking, swimming and you can rent jet ski, boat, canoe and kayak there as well.
I would say that if there was one thing we would wish was different it would be that Stella was allowed in the house with us. The cupola was very nice for her though.
I wanted a place to spend time boating and hanging out with my kids near the water, and boy did I find it! Complete privacy, with boat ramp and dock, picnic tables, firepit, spacious lawn, yard games, canoe & paddleboat... and I haven't even mentioned the tiny house yet!
What a great place! You feel at home the second you walk through the door. Great kitchen, open, and spacious. Feels brand new! Bathroom is stocked with plush towels and everything else you might need. Beds are comfortable and covered with good quality linen.
Honestly, it was hard to leave this place, and we're already talking about our next trip back!
Relaxing, carefree getaway, the Turtle Rock Tiny house has all the amenities you need and much more
Our experience at the Turtle Rock Tiny House was wonderful. We were very impressed by the craftsmanship of the home and it was well stocked and extremely easy to relax in. The location on the lake is beautiful, as are the grounds and outdoor amenities. Wenatchee has some great restaurants and Lake Chelan is a short drive as well. We hope to return and I would highly recommend this property and it's management.
Loved our stay!
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The tiny house is stocked with everything you could need and more. We had a great time relaxing on the dock and would definitely stay again.
A perfect week!
The Turtle Rock Tiny House was absolutely perfect for a week of relaxing and playing on the water with the family! It’s like having your very own personal park, lots of trees for shade and the grass was perfect and lush! Everything you could possibly need Daniel has stocked in the tiny house, and he was absolutely great to work with. We had our boat with us and to fit with the theme of your own personal park is a great boat launch and dock along with a mooring buoy, and he also has a canoe and paddle boat. Yes you are close the the road so there is road noise but you don’t really notice it in the Tiny House (that is not so tiny) and there is a row of trees along the fence line so you can’t really see the traffic. It was a fantastic week and we will definitely return!
