Ambleside is a great place from which to explore the Lake District. There are plenty of restaurants and cafés to eat out in if cooking is not your thing when on holiday. If you need to buy some more walking equipment you will not be disappointed by the selection of shops in Ambleside.

You won't find a better located or well appointed apartment in the Lakes. Modern and comfortable Buttermere is a delight which has everything, including some nice surprises that will make your holiday get off to a great start. We loved it and highly recommend it.

An Absolute Delight!

Buttermere cottage is absolutely beautiful and the most well stocked, thought-out cottage. It truly feels like a home away from home. To top it off, Avril and Peter are lovely – so kind, responsive, organized and thoughtful. We would highly recommend Buttermere cottage and Avril and Peter as your hosts.

Excellent more than words

It is perfect everything you need, so cosy with the views the owners always on hand if you need them. The welcome package is a lovely and wonderful surprise.

Excellent!!

This is the second time we have stayed at this property and once again we have loved staying here.

The apartment is beautifully clean, and furnished and equipped with just about everything you would need. On arrival you are greeted with a lovely bottle of wine and goodies from the owners Avril and Peter who couldn't be kinder if you needed them for anything. The lovely town of Ambleside is just a 10 minute walk away with all its great amenities including cinema and very good bus services. You could even leave your car parked outside the apartment for the week!

We have been coming to the Lakes for many many years and can honestly say that this is the best apartment we have ever stayed in. We have already booked for next year!

Wonderful!

This apartment was wonderful... cosy, comfortable, clean and everything you could need or want. The welcome treats were a lovely touch! The only problem we had was that it was too hot at night. There was no heating on, and we slept with the window open all night... and yet we were still too hot. We'd love to stay again but would need to find a way to keep cooler at night. Thinner duvet perhaps?
