'Cottontail Cottage in the Woods.' Charming cabin in the woods, with deer in your front yard and so enchanting that you will be looking for Goldie Locks and the Three Bears!

Quiet, private and secluded in the forest of the beautiful North Georgia Blue Ridge Mountains. Only 3, mountain miles, from town, shopping and restaurants...but a million miles from the hustle and bustle of crowded city life.

All wood interiors. Newly furnished. Fully stocked with everything you could possibly need for that fun weekend getaway, a romantic honeymoon or family vacation. While-a-way a lazy afternoon in a rocking chair on the screened porch, cook out on the large deck or go for a hike in the woods. Please don't feed the bears!

Guest Comments: We don’t want to leave! It’s been a wonderful little getaway! Cottontail Cottage is first class; it’s the first cabin that we’ve stayed in that wasn’t furnished with used stuff and hand-me-downs! Warm ambiance, great view and lovely accommodations. So glad we found you and can’t wait to return. Thank you, Ann, Barb and Sherri, Orlando, FL

Oh, what a wonderful week we spent here at Cottontail Cottage! We immediately felt at home. The fresh air, the natural sounds and the friendly people. That’s just like the countryside in Germany, where we grew up. On the days the sun was shining we went out for long hikes. We especially liked the Chatooga River. The Sandy Ford Area with Dick’s Creek Falls was our favorite. We didn’t care about the rainy days as long as we knew that we could come back home, take a hot shower, and cook a wonderful dinner. There is still a lot left we have to explore. Hopefully we will have the pleasure to return to Cottontail Cottage. Thorsten, Sandra & Sophia, Key

More Guest Comments: As fate would have it, we have had a memorable weekend at Cottontail Cottage. We experienced the incredible scenery, really amazing! It was also a treat to sit on the front porch and do nothing! Thank you for being so kind and we will also treasure our time here at your “little piece of heaven.” Barry and Joanna, Myakka City FL. What an amazing cottage-the pictures don’t do it justice!!! We found comfort, peace….and a calm quiet we haven’t had in a long time. You guys thought of everything-we felt pampered & we can’t thank you enough. We’ll definitely be back & I’m sure we’ll be sending others to enjoy the same experience we had! Thanks again! Cheryl & Chris, Brian & Tricia, SC

Gorgeous! The maples are just beautiful this time of year and ending the day with a roaring fire is perfection. We love the antique lanterns and all the extra touches- it’s obvious how much care and thought went into this place. What a wonderful retreat – Thank you! Ann & Marc, Atlanta, GA

and still more Guest Comments: Thank you very much for letting us use “your little cabin” to help us celebrate our 39th anniversary! We were very much impressed with your hospitality & your concern to make sure we had everything we needed. We will be coming back & will recommend your cabins to others. Hope to see you soon! Cecil & Barbara, GA

Sure glad we found you! The cottage is beautiful & I have never seen any place so clean – neat and well decorated. You are delightful landlords and we really enjoyed our stay. Mary & Dick, FL

Thanks so much for a lovely relaxing stay. We especially enjoyed the calm of a grilled dinner on the porch after our whitewater rafting trip. We’ll definitely be back – maybe next time with the kids! Perry & Cindy, Lexington, SC

Why Peter or Debbie chose North Georgia Mountains

Thank you for letting us enjoy your beautiful cabin. We have loved our stay & hope that we can take advantage of coming & staying in the future. This place has a great energy that relaxes and comforts all that stay. We did not get to enjoy all the sights, but there really was no need. We found that this place offered all the beauty, peace & tranquility that one could hope to find. This has been the perfect cabin escape & we leave recharged & refreshed. Thank you, Michael & Kellie, SC

Perfect Home Away from Home

  • 5 of 5

Made last minute decision to get away to the mountains for my husbands birthday and lucky for us, I ran across this cabin rental. I knew the minute I got off the phone with the owner Peter that this would be the place. What can you say, you book you get sent a wonderfully scripted reservation confirmation with lots of helpful information to tantalize you with weekend happenings. Upon arrival Peter promptly met us at the visitor center and drove us to the cabin and greeted with fresh picked flowers and special treat. Showed us around and handed us the keys to what turned out to be a wonderful new home away from home. We spent the most magical 4 days in this beautiful cabin - location is very convenient to town. We travel often but we have never felt so at peace in a place. We will DEFINATELY be back and look very forward to our return. The owners are first class and really know how to make you feel like family. Don't think twice - this is your magical place!

Awesome Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

If we could give this cabin a 10 we would but only 5 stars are available! The Owners, Peter and Debbie are very personable they delivered homemade cookies and flowers to the cabin upon our arrival. The pictures of the cabin are exactly what the cabin looks like - outstanding and VERY clean. They welcomed our dogs without an upcharge which was great. We stayed comfortably with 6 adults and 3 small grandchildren also renting the extra bedroom from the main house. We felt like we were home, don't worry about forgetting something because they have everything you need plus more in the cabin. We can't wait to go back again next year! Thank you so much again for a wonderful time. Mike and Sandy

Everything Perfect! Todo perfecto!

  • 5 of 5

Peter and Debbie are excellent hosts, when we arrived at Clayton, Peter led us to the cottage , the location also is clearly enabled in the GPS cell.

We are a family with 3 children and the cabin was perfect for us. The Cabin is beautiful, everything is clean, and There were everything that you need, the kitchen is comfortable and there is nice cook for the family, The Wifi service is fast , hot water and heating work properly.

Our kids enjoyed playing in the woods around the cabin, the fireplace, board games and puzzles.

The cabin outside also have everything for 2 persons, Is cute and clean, My daughter enjoyed this place, It was a refuge for her.

Thanks Debbie and Peter to share your cabin with us , We hope come back soon because It was a unbelievable experience for us.

Great place for a family vacation

  • 5 of 5

With 6 adults and a baby, this was the perfect space for a family vacation that everyone is still talking about. The little cabin in the back was a real bonus. Everything we needed for cooking meals at the cabin was available; even a well-equiped gas grill. The wifi worked well; and we were even able to watch the Georgia game(the males would have mutinied otherwise). Cottontail Cabin is well-organized, clean and has comfortable beds. Thankyou Peter and Debbie for sharing your cabin.

Our family also enjoyed renting a pontoon boat from Anchorage marina on Lake Burton.

Nice Stay

  • 4 of 5

We spent one week at Cottontail Cottage in the Woods. The owners were very easy to work with, responded quickly to questions and accommodated special requests. Peter met us within minutes of our call when we arrived in Clayton, and escorted us to the cabin and gave a quick run through of all the workings. The cabin is really well situated, seemingly in the middle of the forest, yet a quick drive to downtown, with restaurants and shopping. Clayton is centrally located to ziplining, state parks, lakes, waterfalls, rafting and other towns. We kept busy all week with fun things to do and see.

The cabin is as pictured on this site. The furniture and beds are comfortable, and the gravel/dirt road to the home was navigable by my Nissan Altima. The kitchen is well stocked with all necessities, as is the grill and fireplace. The wifi works well, and they provide a land-line since cell service can be spotty in the mountains. The only issue we had on our last full day was a lack of water in the house. Apparently the house is on a shared well with a neighboring development and this occasionally happens. It was down for several hours, but gallons of bottled water were available in the pantry for such situations. We had made Peter aware of the problem, and he offered a free-night stay for a future rental. Even with this snafu, I would still stay at Cottontail in the future because of all the good points listed in this review (as well as their willingness to accept dogs.) We had a great week, and this area of Georgia is absolutely beautiful.

Mountain Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We would give this cottage 10 stars if we could. The cottage was very quaint and wonderfully furnished. It was the most well equipped rental we have ever stayed in. We definitely plan to go back and would recommend it to anyone. It is in a great location --close to Clayton, golf, hiking, wonderful restaurants. We really didn't want to leave!
