Cozy comfort :-)

  • 5 of 5

My family traveled north from South Florida to experience winter for about a week. We loved staying in this cabin, it was exactly like the photos. Everything was beautiful and we especially loved the fireplace in the evenings after venturing out during the day for the many sights and activities near by. Thank you Lana!!

Hummingbird hill is great

  • 5 of 5

We spent the week of 21 oct -28 oct there. The cabin is beautiful the inside looks brand new. The setting is in the woods but just a few miles from Murphy. It is very quite and peaceful.

It is stocked with everything you could want. Saw one deer the first morning. We have stayed in a few cabins in the past and this is the best so far.As soon as we walked inside my wife said this is beautiful.Lana is really on top of everything.Went there to see the fall color and it was a little late this year.Got a little more each day.,but had a great stay.

A Gem in the Woods

  • 5 of 5

We are a retired couple from England and we visited NC for the August eclipse. We got an excellent view of this event but we also discovered something of the beauty of this corner of the state.

The cabin itself is a gem of a place. Large, spacious, well designed and well appointed it provides superb accommodation in beautiful woodland surroundings. There are comfortable beds, efficient air con, good TV and internet connection and a well equipped kitchen space where you can easily prepare a full meal.

There are other cabins discretely distributed around it and it is quite close to the road to Murphy but it has a remote, get away from it all feel to it. The road itself has very little traffic but provides a short, picturesque route to the small town which seemed to have a lot going on in it.

The weather was hot and sunny but we were cool and relaxed when we chose to lounge around in the rocking chairs on the fine balcony watching the hummingbirds (clearly aware of their duty to live up to the name of the place) instead of exploring.

All the locals we met and talked to were hospitable and friendly, communication with Lana was easy and we would have no hesitation in recommending the cabin to anyone wishing to visit this unsung but lovely region.
