One Of The Largest Homes On The Island
Jennifer and Shawn Brannon
Why Jennifer and Shawn Brannon chose Matlacha
Our family of five first visited Matlacha Island during the 2015 Christmas holiday. We rented a small house and had planned a list of activities to enjoy in the area. Our three teen aged boys walked out back to throw out a few fishing lines while we unpacked the car and that is where they remained (pretty much) until we repacked the car a week later. The truth is they walked to the bridge… to fish, went out on the kayaks… to fish, and went on an off shore charter… to fish. My husband and I enjoyed some fishing and kayaking along side of them but also took time to appreciate the local shops, art galleries, and restaurants. Seafood just doesn’t come any fresher than here! We fell in love with the town and with the people of Matlacha during that week and found ourselves, less than a year later, falling in love with our “Canal Life” home. We have put great time and effort into creating an environment that will give you the comforts of home with the relaxation of a vacation. Our family wishes you the dream vacation of peace, tranquility, and family fun that we found on Matlacha and hope that you enjoy living the Canal Life as much as we do. “Everyday is a Good Day in Matlacha!” Blessings to your family from ours, The Brannons

Happy house in a perfect location with great hosts
Jennifer and Shawn have been simply amazing in sharing information we needed for bringing our boat to the house. For those who do not know Pine Island, it is one of the few remaining bits of laid back, friendly, "old Florida". The island, the town of Matlacha, the house and the hosts are all you could hope for. From the moment you enter the house, you will experience a happy, easy vibe that will stay with you your entire visit. Plenty of privacy for two families and perfectly located for easy on-off to and from the island and for boating/fishing the prized waters of Matlacha Pass and Pine Island Sound. Not enough stars to rate this house.
This home had updated amenities with a spread out floor plan. Plenty of space booth indoors and out. We were 4 fishing friends who enjoyed the use of the boat lift as well.
Beautiful home. Very clean and the perfect getaway home. Owner and realtor very nice to work with. Made my hubby's birthday a event to remember
Great waterfront property with lots of room for two families to share.
Canal Life was just what we were looking for. We stayed with our family and another family. Lots of room. Never felt crowded. House was nicely maintained and comfortable. This is a great location as a base for a weekend of boating as well. The house has a seawall that was easily large enough, with easy in and out access, for our 24’ 6” boat.
And Matlacha is a great little town with some very good, casual, restaurants.
Best FL stay
This home was beautiful, beyond equipped for 3 adults and 3 children. Communication and check-in was an A+. We enjoyed every minute we stayed and would go back in a heartbeat. The area is soul reviving and there is plenty to do. We would buy shrimp and catch numerous fish off the back patio, which we all loved. Great home and great owners to deal with.
Everything we needed (and more)!
This house exceeding all our expectations. The layout is amazing, providing everyone with enough space to spread out. The home was comfortable, and had everything we needed. Everything even seemed to be in the first place we looked for it, too! We had our nine month old crawler with us, and we were able to keep her happy and safe in the space no problem.
"The Canal Life home sits in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood of the eclectic community of Matlacha Florida. It sits on an open water canal with access to the Matlacha pass and Charlotte Harbor that has some of the best fishing in Florida. We brought our boat and that facilitated quick access to the fishing areas or just tooling around to see the dolphins, birds and manatees. We were entertained everyday by the Ospreys that have a nest and one chick on the light pole right across the street at the end of the driveway. The house is very well maintained and has all the amenities one would need, especially the kitchen (pots, pans, utensils, etc.). It even comes with 5 bikes and helmets and 3 canoes and safety gear. I'd definitely go back. Can't say enough about Matlacha!!!"
