The Kukui House is a 2 bedroom 2 bath house. It is upstairs and overlooks the pool from a covered lanai. The house has a full kitchen, one queen bed, 2 twin beds, and a sofa-bed in the living room. There is AC in every room, free WIFI, free parking, washer/dryer w/laundry detergent, fabric softener & bleach provided, Large TV w/Movie channels, hair dryers, shampoo, conditioner and body wash, gas BBQ, bikes, boogie boards, coolers, beach chairs/mats/towels and much more...
This house is located on a private beach lane, on a private estate called Kailua Gardens. You would enter the house up the stairs next to the pool. There are two other rentals on the property, the Sunshine Suite and the Palm Villa, which shares the pool.
The best part is you just walk down a private beach lane and in less than 2 minutes you would be at Kailua Beach which is the most beautiful beach in the country! It is great for children. The water is calm since there is a coral reef 1/2 mile off shore, where the waves break. You can snorkel, swim, kayak, or just walk the beach for hours. You can also watch the sun rise in the morning over the ocean and the moon rise in the evening. It is truly breathtaking!
Take a look at the photos below, and let us know if you would like to spend your vacation with us. We would love to have you stay. Aloha!
Steve and I lived in Colorado for 10 years and had our first child, Sharly. She was 3 months premature and weighed in at a whopping 1 pound!! When she turned one, she weighed almost 10 pounds. Her doctor said that she would grow if we moved her to a warmer climate.. that it was difficult for her to maintain a 98.6 degree body temperature without burning so many calories. So, we moved to Hawaii.. with $500 in the bank and our little daughter. That was in December, 1979. And here we are 35 years later. Sharly has since married, given birth to our grandaughters, Kaylee and Riley, and has moved back to Colorado. We had our son, Zak after moving to Hawaii. He married his high school sweetheart, Amber, and they have 2 sons. And, he just began working for us full time!
There's more to the story, so come and stay with us to hear the rest. We love our guests and have many repeat visitors to our lovely rentals.
Zak Bryson purchased this house in 1987
We bought our house before it became a vacation rental. We owned a small travel agency and people were always asking if there was anywhere to stay other than Waikiki. So we decided to rent out some rooms in our home to accommodate our clients and to make a little extra money. There were no hotels in our town and the beach was just gorgeous. Little did we know that Kailua would become such a B&B mecca.
You will love the hospitality and service we provide our guests. The beach is absolutely gorgeous and the property is like walking into Shangri La. Steve's gardens are breathtaking and the pool is beautiful.
We stayed here for a week with our extended families. We found the grounds & home well kept & clean. The caretaker was super helpful in taking care of our needs & was very professional. We would stay here again. Did I mention the white sand beach across the street? It was a wonderful property for multiple families as well.
This was the perfect place for our families. My son was married on the Secret Island near Kualoa Ranch and this worked out very well for my 2 brothers, their wives, my sister, our friends who married my son & his wife and my husband & I. We had stayed in Kailua 2 years ago so we were familiar with the area and decided to return. We rented all 3 units and it was very comfortable for everyone. We especially appreciated the AC in the bedrooms! We enjoyed the pool & hot tub and just sitting on the lanai and enjoying the beautiful weather. Each unit had its own charm and was well equipped. The microwave in our unit did not work and was replaced immediately by the owner. Steve, Susie & Zak were so pleasant to work with and very informative. We took their advice and made the 15 minute walk to Lanikai Beach. So beautiful!! We had dinner at Buzz's Bar & Steakhouse and were not disappointed; the meal and service was excellent. Lots of shops and markets close by and Kailua Beach just across the street and through the park. We will certainly consider the Villas when we return to Hawaii. Thank you!
We have just returned to Australia after enjoying a fabulous 10 day holiday at Kailua Gardens Estate. Over the 10 day period, we were joined by our adult children and rented all three properties in the estate. Each villa/house/suite is unique and comfortable without being fussy. They all feel like home! All are well equipped for any holiday and the pool and outdoor areas are great for relaxing. Beautiful Kailua Beach is only a few minutes walk, there is a general store that sells anything you need (incl beer and wine) less than 10 mins walk and Buzz's Bar and Steakhouse is just a short stroll. Accessibility is great. Even if you don't have a car, "The Bus" to/from the Ala Moana centre stops within 100 metres/yadrs of the property. All in all, a great destination for a relaxing holiday.
We rented all 3 of the properties and it was absolutely perfect for our family of 12! The owners were so accomodating and were our personal itinerary guides also. Thank you for making our spring break one that will be remembered for years to come!
We rented all 3 of the properties as there was 12 in our family...we treated our kids, spouses. Grandkids. Couldn't have picked a more perfect place, owners(Steve, Susie, Zac,Jackson) were most accomidating, gracious, supplied us with everything needed, we couldn't bring on plane.. (See their website) Great to visit with, gave us help with eating places, sights to visit. Pool, hot tub in the middle, off street parking, park across the street and than the ocean and beach. We are so greatful for them helping our family with a legacy none of us will ever forget. Lord willing,we hope to go back. Bryson family are the best. Thank You (mahalo?)
We needed a last-minute place to stay for a few nights, and Steve, Susie and Zac responded quickly to our request and set us up in Kukio House, the 2-bedroom rental they offer. How lucky we were to stay in such a wonderful place! They have been renting this property for many years, and their thoroughness shows. They welcomed us kindly, and I found the property to be filled with everything we could possibly need. The kitchen was fully stocked, and there were tons of fresh towels, both for the bath and the beach. The garage was filled with beach chairs, toys, and even bicycles that we were encouraged to use. It was great to have so many ceiling fans, so much that we didn't need to turn on the AC. The Kukio house rental includes a second large bathroom with a shower down by the pool, which was nice, and it also included the exclusive use of the lanai (pictured), although neighbors in the Sunshine rental need to pass through to access their front door. The garden and pool area are beautiful, and well-tended. Although we were just two people, I can see how this would be a perfect place for multiple couples or families to stay, with very nice separate spaces off a shared pool. The beach and the park are a hop skip and a jump away, and Kailua is a short drive beyond. Don't miss walking to Buzz's for lunch or dinner, and it's worth arriving hungry at the Thursday night Farmer's Market in the Whole Foods parking lot.
