We were a little nervous renting online for our first time, and were not disappointed.
Margaret was quick in responding to our questions and so we felt comfortable working with her right away.
The home is in the perfect location...away from the hustle and bustle of town noise, but directly across from the supermarket., and just a few blocks from the ocean front. We could walk to everything in Bar Harbor and not worry about parking. The home was very clean, and had all the amenities that were on the website.
Margaret was very easy to work with and gave us lots of information about the area that we asked for. We were there in June, and can't even imagine how people try to park there later in the year, so were especially pleased with the location. Plenty of hot water, everything was in working order, the photos on the website are an accurate representation of the rooms. The beds were very comfortable, and she offered lots of extra blankets, pillows and towels. Kitchen is fully furnished...even cutting boards, corkscrews, baggies, paper towels and TP. Lots of fun leftovers from the previous guests, so we left some goodies ourselves. Look inside the living room coffee table and you'll find lots of brochures and maps and ideas for fun things to do.When we go back to Bar Harbor, which we will definitely do, we will try to make sure to rent with her again.
We enjoyed our home in BarHarbor. it was convenient to all the areas we visited. In the evening we walked into town, walked across to Bar island, and just had room in our house to play games together. We were close to Acacia where we spent most of our time hiking and enjoying the beauty of the area. Our two granddaughters (3 years, and 8 months) had lots of room to move around in our house. We were able to meet Margaret towards the end of our trip. Hanaford's across the road was excellent! Their seafood was delicious and they even cook it for you if you want!
Thank you for your wonderful home to help make our vacation the best! Our 3 year old granddaughter cried the morning we left because she was going to miss our " home".
We stayed here in the off season, in October, and it was exactly what we needed. The house is clean and charmingly furnished. The location is great, just off Cottage, with the grocery store across the street, but tucked back enough that you don't feel like you're right on the busy road. Great walking distance to the shops and restaurants in Bar Harbor, right by the low-tide bridge to Bar Island, and a very short drive into Acadia.
We had a lovely time and would definitely recommend the property.
We loved our stay in this beautiful older home! The house is warm, beautifully decorated -- quintiscential New England. The owner -- Margaret -- was so easy to work with, responsive, warm and helpful. The home is set back maybe 70 yards from the main street in Bar Harbor, so super easy walk to restaurants and shops, but you don't have crowds walking right in front of your front door. Wish we'd had more of a view, but it was a great trade-off, having grocery store and shops an easy walk. Lovely stay. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks Margaret!! Sincerely, Karen D.
We had a great stay in Bar Harbor at this lovely home. It was perfect for our family. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the kitchen was well equipped so we prepared most of our meals in rather than eating out. We ate out on the back patio as much as possible and I drank my morning coffee on the front porch watching Bar Harbor come to life each morning. The location was perfect for us. A block from the grocery store and Cottage street stores and restaurants without feeling like you're on a busy street. Close to the sand bar to Bar Island and easy access to Acadia. And for parents of little ones, we had a good wifi signal to stream their favorite shows durging what little down time we had. Margaret was great to work with and when we accidentally left our house and car keys in a dresser drawer, she promptly dropped them at the FedEx office so we had them the nex day. All said, it was a great experience and a perfect home for our stay.
We stayed here with our two grown children - it was the perfect place! Enough common areas to spend time together, but they each had their own bedroom. We walked everywhere in town, and it's just a few minutes drive to Acadia. Very comfortable, and well maintained. I would highly recommend staying here.
Minutes away from Acadia National Park beaches, hiking, biking, golfing, mountain climbing or just sightseeing.
