Build to accomodate extended family, this rural retreat is nestled on low bank waterfront. The gentle sloop of the beach makes this beach child friendly and provides hour of entertainment for all ages wading, swimming, exploring tide pools and taking in the scenery. The Olympic Mountains frame the skyline on the opposite side of the bay. The property surrounding the house is forested and home to abundant wildlife. Seals, otter, blue heron, eagles, fish, ducks, seagulls, clams and oysters make their home in the bay.
We disigned this property as a family retreat, idea for sharing with adults and children. The home is fully equiped to make your trip as relaxed as possible. The kitchen is equipted with coffee makers, blenders, toasters, 2 refrigerators, icemaker, dishes, pots and pans and a grill. If you have a rainy day, there is covered patio area to allow for outside activities, an electric fireplace, flat screen TV's, a video library and computer. There is an outdoor shower to clean up after the beach, and a washer/dryer.
Whether you enjoy the outdoors in an athletic way, or prefer to relax in a lounger on the wrap-around decks this is the place for you. This haven takes you away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, while providing you the comforts to make this an experience to remember.
The cabin is single level with two bedrooms equipted with a queen and standard bed. An additional queen sofa sleeper in the great room can be curtained off for privacy. Across a covered deck, are two, unheated, sleeping rooms. One has a queen size murphy bed, the other, three built in bunk beds, a favorite for kids with their sleeping bags. Bathrooms are between the bedrooms and adjacent to the sleeping rooms. The property includes an acre, afording ample parking and privacy.
While most visitors arrive by car, the bay is about as far inside Pudget Sound as you can navigate. If you chose to arrive by boat, a mooring buoy is available, and a canoe, two kayaks, and a rowboat are provided for your use. If you want to trailer your boat to this location, we can provide information on boat launchs. This sheltered bay provides calm waters for skiing. A boat cruise to Olympia makes a great day trip from this location. Olympia offers several resturants and boater friendly access areas.
From the start of your day in this tranquil setting, through the breathtaking sunset from your deck, there is plenty to do all day long for adults and children of all ages. It is a perfect year round getaway. You will not want to leave and you'll definitely be back!

We came down from Canada to take part in "LEEFEST" & had a very enjoyable time hanging out and play at your place. The Tideflats/clam operations is very interesnting. I got very excited, but then Uncle Art told me to CLAM DOWN
Such a great weekend getaway house. Far enough to feel like you are away from city life, but close enough for those quick after dinner ice cream runs to DQ. :) My family came here to celebrate family birthdays and had such a great time. We loved using the 2 kayaks and canoe that the owners have on the property and explored the surrounding areas, especially when it was high tide. Views are breathtaking, especially on a sunny day. House is right on the water, just steps away from the beach and there is a nice grass yard where you can play games. Owners were very accommodating and friendly, making sure that you have everything you need and even offering more than normal. We loved that they are pet friendly and enjoyed visits from the neighbor dog who we fondly referred to as "Bear." :) Such a great location for family reunions and can accommodate large groups of people easily. Thank you for sharing your lovely cabin!
What a wonderful home, with lots of room, and stocked with plenty of supplies for a large group. The wildlife was so fun, deer, seals with pups, hummingbirds, butterflies, so much to see. We had a 45th Birthday celebration and the privacy allowed us to laugh until dawn without bothering anyone. My daughters loved the Kayak and the bay is so private we could sit on the deck and watch them paddle all over. It was so relaxing and we had such a good time, we didn't leave all weekend! The group has decided we need to return every year. The owners were very helpful and accommodating as well. The only down side is there was a burn ban so we couldn't use the beautiful fit pit....next trip.
Great house on the inlet. The house came with everything a family would need, including towels and linens. The house is large and can accommodate one or two families. In addition, the neighbor was very helpful!
I would highly recommend this house to those with families or those looking for a nice, relaxing weekend getaway.
We rented for a few days, wish we could have stayed longer. Mult reasons, to begin...we got in late to the area...and due to our outdated GPS we were the wrong area....and the owners helped us over the phone to find the cabin. She knew we had kids with us and due to the late hour, made sure we knew what was in the freezer and then followed up the next day to make sure we all ate. The water is literally feet away from the deck. We woke up the first morning to a sea lion sunbathing outside of the master bedroom window. We spent another morning watching the clammers and were able to walk throughout the whole area during low tide. Because of the location, you have a private beach. The only "neighbors" or visitors we saw was a lab dog that was visiting from another home and would check in on us each day. We plan on using this property everytime we are in the area!!
We have been fortunate enough to stay at this location twice in the past two years and have absolutely loved our time here! We are a family of four, kids 4 and 1 1/2. It was extremely comfortable and safe which was a concern for us with young kiddos being so close to the water. The view is INCREDIBLE and if you are looking for no noise, this is the place! It was very quiet, a nice change from the business of every day life and we enjoyed the uninterrupted time we could spend together. I read another review for this property mentioning the comfort of having kids inside the cabin without fear of breaking things and the generosity of the owners to allow your use of every basic kitchen necessity. WE AGREE ENTIRELY! We made clams with some of their spices that we dug from the beach...They even provide you with recipes in case you're not sure what to do after digging :). DELICIOUS!! One thing that you cannot see in the pictures is a neighboring bunk house with extra beds in case you planned on a large gathering. We figured you could easily house 4 families and have plenty of room to play, eat, campfire, and enjoy each others company. We enjoyed the use of thier kayaks (there are 2) and were grateful for the large supply of extra lifejackets. They even provide you with an assortment of rubber boot sizes to enjoy the beach! Once you get what you can out of the saltwater, you are within a short driving distance to Lake Limerick (which we loved!!!) and Mason Lake. There are a few public boat launches on the lakes where we swam...maybe a 10 minute drive! It was nice to be "away from it all" but could also jump in the truck and drive to some fun places! (bakery, fruit stand, gas, lakes, Walmart, tavern, GREAT PARK IN SHELTON FOR KIDS)
If you are considering this vacation home, My family and I would highly reccomend it! The owners are WONDERFUL and truly care whether or not you enjoy your stay!! You can sense the feeling of family when you walk in the door! :)
We try and get away once each summer with the neices, nephews etc. We have stayed here now for a few 4th of July's and couple off season stays. It has become the family favorite. We like the privacy of the property, at the end of the bay with only one neighbor. We bring our kayaks, paddle boards and the kids live in the water. A word of advice, bring aqua sox for the feet as it is an oyster beach so not good for bare footin'. The deck is big and open and the 2 6ft tables they have make it great for big family dinners. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and they are generous with sharing ingredients you may have left at home, spices, cooking oil etc. It is not the ritz, which is why we like- no worries of expensive things to break and ruin- very comfortable.
