This is a very clean condo, approximately 650 square feet including lanai, in the heart of sunny Kihei and across the street from the famed Charley Young Beach. Ceramic tile floors through-out.
All sorts of leisure activities are close by, as are shopping and restaurants.
One of three pools is just below the lanai of this third floor condo and is framed in the oceanview, a delight at sunset.

We love Kihei on Maui, and have travelled there many times over the years.
We enjoy it's central location, beautiful climate and easy access to all amenities. We can walk across the street to one of the most beautiful beaches on Maui.
Just wanted all to know that our time in the Condo was FANTASTIC.... we were there from Dec 8 to Jan 11, 2010 and we have to say we never wanted to leave... close to Groceries, Entertainment and most of all the Beaches. This condo is clean and well maintained... love the tiles and no carpet, the fact there is a washing machine and dryer in the suite.
Jim's condo was fantastic! Not fancy, not exactly what we needed. We stayed with our toddler and had a fantastic time. Many things have been updated and aren't reflected in the photos; couch, bedroom etc.
The location was ideal. The beach was directly across the street, large playground and restaurants north, restaurants and beaches south!
I was slightly concerned about another review mentioning little bugs; never saw one. There were beach chairs, an umbrella, a cooler, a life jacket for our toddler, snorkel gear all in the closet. Extra blankets and sheets. The washing machine and dryer came in handy too.
Yes it isn't renovated, but it's also the most affordable condo in the complex! I would highly recommend this condo!
Jim was really helpful throughout the booking process and also during our stay at his lovely beach condo! Whenever we had a question he was extremely responsive and very understanding. The condo is such a good deal and renting from him helped kept our vacation affordable and convenient. His condo is so well equipped with everything that you could possibly think of and need while you're in Maui- from a boogie board, 1 set of snorkeling equipment, beach chairs, beach umbrella, great beach towels etc. Its a great place to return home to after a long day of being at the beach. I was really thankful for the dishwasher and washer/dryer. Also both the queen bed and the sofa bed are really comfortable and the condo fit 3 people really comfortably! I can't wait to return to Maui again now that I know the best place to stay. I've already let the secret out to several friends!
Jim, the owner of the property, is a great guy. He was very accommodating before and during the trip.
The property itself is okay, although it needs a fair bit of updating to be comparable with other condos in Maui Vista. The location is right next to the street, which is great because it's closer to the beach, but it does mean there's a bit more noise from the road.
The cabinets are old wood cabinets… Sort of what you'd see at a lake cottage. Lots of little bugs in them...The stove is older and in need of updating. The fridge is big, and holds lots of beer, but is old and the seal needs replaced - there's a gap in one spot where the cold air just streams out. It's got to be expensive on the electric bill! The foldout couch in the living room wasn't comfortable and has a very thin mattress on it…which was okay because the kids slept on it, but I wouldn't suggest that an adult sleep there, particularly if you have back issues.
The washer and dryer work - but when we got there, there was a load of linen in the washer that had been there for a while - musty and moldy, and there was a load in the dryer. When I told Jim about this, he immediately got his cleaning staff to come over and take the mouldy laundry away, and offered to refund one night of our stay. Very much appreciated!
The Wi-Fi was excellent, I could use it while I was at the pool to stream music and do emails. The place comes with a boogie board, snorkelling gear, beach chairs and a small cooler - they all got used a lot!! Lots of towels and bedding too! As well, if you're staying at Maui Vista, you should take advantage of tennis - we were able to get for rackets, balls, and access to the court for our entire stay for what turned out to be $10!
Despite the condo needing some renovations and updating, it was a pretty good deal for the price and Maui Vista is a great complex - very centrally located. And as I mentioned, Jim was great to deal with which is so important.
One last thing. The phone in the condo doesn't allow you to make LD phone calls. So, when we had issues with the laundry and an issue with our rental car, I was unable to call Jim (I emailed) or Dollar unless I incurred really high roaming charges. Some of the other properties have free LD plans. Jim suggested that an LD phone card would solve that, but in my emergency situation with the rental car, I wracked up a pretty good bill on my cel. FWIW.
My wife and I stayed for 1 week at Maui Vista and had a great time. The unit was very clean, located right across from our favorite beach and the lanai had a view of the ocean. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking to stay in Kihei.
Location is great. The condo needs an upgrade in furniture, etc. it also needs to be cleaned thoroughly.
Not only was the condo a great location within walking distance to great restaurants, shops and beaches, we were also able to start our trip with a guest services concierge provided by Maui Vista who we met by the poolside to let us know all of the best hot spots and things to do!
The condo itself was very clean, had good air circulation and even came with a boggie board, everything you need for a day on the beach and snorkling!
There was also easy access to the freeways to head on any adventure that the island had in store for us (Scuba Diving, hiking to the windmills, Ocean Center, Lahaina, La Perouse and a trip up to Haleakala to see the sunrise).
We loved our trip and will definitely return in the future!
