About Eric and Susan Meyer
We had been vacationing in Maine for thirty years, and Bar Harbor / Acadia National Park was always a highlight of our trips. We were fortunate enough to find this beautiful little cottage, in this remarkable area, and we love it! We hope that others can experience all Bar Harbor and MDI have to offer, and Apple Blossom Cottage is the perfect 'base camp'.
Eric and Susan Meyer purchased this Cottage in 2007
Why Eric and Susan Meyer chose Bar Harbor
After an extensive search for a perfect home here in Bar Harbor, we were in the right place at the right time and fell in love at first sight with Apple Blossom Cottage. It is comfortable and cozy, in a great neighborhood. Perhaps what we love most is the ability to walk to everything in town, from the vibrant village scene, to awesome ocean views, and the close proximity of Acadia trails and carriageways. Bar Harbor is full of friendly people, and the village is always putting on events and that makes this a very special place. When you add very comfortable temperatures we enjoy here, it is no wonder people are strolling around, biking, hiking and having a wonderful time reconnecting.
What makes this Cottage unique
Leave your car in the driveway and walk to stores, ocean, museums, restaurants, movies, trails, biking, farmer's market, or just relax. You'll really feel energized! Apple Blossom Cottage has it all.

In-town Bar Harbor Cottage
My son, daughter and son-in-law stayed here with their dog
on a family vacation last August. Their experience was great-the house was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The owner, Linda, was a delight to work with. We chose the property becasue it was pet friendly and walk to town. I, and the rest of our family stayed on a neighboring street so it was easy for us to gather--we most often gathered at this house for lobsters etc because of it's "comfortableness". I had booked this as an Xmas gift to my children and they loved it.
Thanks for taking the time to say such great things about the cottage and me!! Please come back when you can!
Traveling with our two teenage granddaughters we decided renting a home close to town would allow us to walk into Bar Harbor when necessary avoiding the parking challenges. Apple Blossom Cottage was an ideal location. It's on the edge of town about 2 blocks from the YMCA. The Village Green is about 1/2 mile walk, and Bar Island is just a mile. When we wanted to go to town we walked; to Peeky Toe Provisions, the shops, the Whale Watch, Bar Island, Hannafords and Jordan's Restaurant.
The two bedroom, two bath arrangement of this older home worked well for us, with the girls immediately claiming the upstairs bathroom. Thank you for the wonderful soft fluffy towels, which are not often found in rentals. With two small living areas we were able to spread out and the kitchen table allowed us card playing room. The TV includes a Roku with Netflix. A second TV is in the upstairs bedroom, but we never used the upstairs TV. It was warm while we were there but we never felt the need for the air conditioning. The house heats up during the day, but the upstairs window fans cool it off very quickly in the evening.
Located on a quiet street with off street parking we were very content in this small home. The kitchen was equipped with everything the four of us needed, and the complimentary bottle of wine was a nice touch. There is lots of closet space for unpacking, and on that odd rainy day it's a comfortable place to spread out.
For a couple, or two, or a small family this is an ideal location. Don't miss the Farmer's Market at the Y on Sunday mornings.

Terrific week in a terrific cottage
I recently spent a wonderful week in Bar Harbor in this cottage. The location is awesome, super close to the town center, close to Acadia entrances and even close to a playground (handy if you are like me and traveling with a 4 year old).
The house was charming and beautifully maintained. It was very clean and although small, it felt big and we never felt crowded. The kitchen was well designed and well supplied. The beds were comfortable and the deck out back was fabulous.
We would stay again with no hesitations!

A great little cottage within walking distance of Bar Harbor and Acadia hiking trails. The cottage had everything we needed for a relaxing stay and we so appreciate the pet friendly policy. Honestly, we didn't want to leave! It's close to everything in a quiet neighborhood. We would definitely rent again if we get the chance! Thank you for a great rental!

I now feel like I could live in Maine!
My husband and I arrived on July 4th, went to the Farmer's market on Sunday, we are not lobster eaters but they had a great amount of lobster/scallops, goat milk products, fresh lettuce, etc. The house was so wonderful, the nearby park, we found it to be the best we could ask for. The stairs are steep, but our dog did fine with it. I would say that at then end of the season it would be a great time to clean the furniture. SO happy that it is open to pets, but the furniture does sort of smell of past puppies!
Amenities abound with community wading pool, playground, parks and local YMCA in neighborhood. Great Farmer's Market each Sunday in YMCA parking lot. Biking and walking opportunities begin right from your front door. For adventures further afield, the Island Explorer free shuttle system has routes that cover all of Mount Desert Island, including Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, Southwest Harbor. Each bus can also transport a few bikes. Bar Harbor provides a lively downtown scene with shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities for all tastes.
Other Activities: rock climbing school, kayaking, Winery/Brewery tours and tastings
