Maine, and Bar Harbor - the way life should be!
We have been vacationing in Maine for many years, and Bar Harbor was always a highlight. We were fortunate enough to find this beautiful little cottage, in this remarkable area, and we love it! We hope that others can experience all Bar Harbor and MDI have to offer, and Apple Blossom Cottage is the perfect 'base camp'.
Eric and Susan Meyer purchased this cottage in 2007
After an extensive search for a perfect home here in Bar Harbor, we were in the right place at the right time and fell in love at first sight with Apple Blossom Cottage. It is comfortable and cozy, in a great neighborhood. Perhaps what we love most is the ability to walk to everything in town, from the vibrant village scene, to awesome ocean views, and the close proximity of Acadia trails and carriageways. Bar Harbor is full of friendly people, and the village is always putting on events and that makes this a very special place
Leave your car in the driveway and walk to stores, ocean, museums, restaurants, movies, trails, biking, farmer's market, or just relax. You'll really feel energized! Apple Blossom Cottage has it all.
My son, daughter and son-in-law stayed here with their dog
on a family vacation last August. Their experience was great-the house was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The owner, Linda, was a delight to work with. We chose the property becasue it was pet friendly and walk to town. I, and the rest of our family stayed on a neighboring street so it was easy for us to gather--we most often gathered at this house for lobsters etc because of it's "comfortableness". I had booked this as an Xmas gift to my children and they loved it.
My husband and I arrived on July 4th, went to the Farmer's market on Sunday, we are not lobster eaters but they had a great amount of lobster/scallops, goat milk products, fresh lettuce, etc. The house was so wonderful, the nearby park, we found it to be the best we could ask for. The stairs are steep, but our dog did fine with it. I would say that at then end of the season it would be a great time to clean the furniture. SO happy that it is open to pets, but the furniture does sort of smell of past puppies!
We could not have been more pleased with our stay at Apple Blossom Cottage! The house has been updated in all the right places and was perfect for me and my husband and our dogs as we celebrated our anniversary. Upon arrival, the house was spotless and welcoming. Working with Eric and Susan was completely seemless and stress-free. It made a perfect home base for wandering around in town, hiking and biking in Acadia....all without having to touch our car! And on the one day we were rained in, the cottage was comfortable and relaxing as we waited out the rain. We could not have asked for a better week, and very much look forward to our next visit. Special thanks to Eric & Susan for making your cottage a special place for some great memories!
Was just browsing through listings and saw this photo. It brought me back to the two perfect weeks my two sons and I spent in this sweet home. The front and back porch are perfect for people watching. Kitchen well equipped and bedrooms roomy, comfy. Lovely owners. Perfect location for my teen boys who could explore downtown on their own with no issues. Short distance to ANP. Just around the corner, you will find the Island Explorer.
We stayed in Apple Blossom cottage with our family dog for one week and it was a great experience from beginning to end. Communication and booking with Eric and Susan Meyer was seamless. The cottage was clean, bright, and beautifully decorated. There was not one thing I needed that the owners had not already thought of and provided. The house is in a quiet neighborhood just a short walk from the shops and restaurants of downtown Bar Harbor. It is also located very near an entrance to the Park Loop road and within walking distance of hiking trails. (Hiked right out the front door up Dorr Mountain.) It was a wonderful stay and I hope to be back in the future.
The cottage was as nice as our previous stay. We love the fact that we can walk to Bar Harbor w/n 5 mins. We enjoyed hiking this time around. The cottage is very roomy, clean, appliances worked perfectly, the porch is so relaxing to sit on and start the morning with.
My husband enjoyed closing the late evening by sitting on the porch and listening to the night sounds. One night....very late night..he heard a chewing noise, looked up and spotted a white-tail deer eating the flowers against the porch. We have white-tail at home, but none that close! A pleasant surprise!
We hope to get back sooner next time and would stay at this cottage for sure. Our kids have always enjoyed the stay here, even though this time we only had one of our daughters with us.
You would not regret setting up camp here. The grill worked nice, spacious back porch. The only thing I missed was having a potato peeler(for packing carrots for picnics)!
Thank you for helping us make more lasting memories.
