Lizard Peninsula House Rental Photos and Description

6 Double Bedroom House With Stunning Sea Views- Newly available!

Set behind electric gates in a private cul de sac, the property is quiet and secluded, and commands a truly stunning location within an area of outstanding natural beauty. The coastal path is situated at the bottom of the garden, leading on to miles of incredible walks and you are a 10 minute drive into the bustling town of Falmouth, or 10 minutes the other way to the Helford passage. Whether you choose to relax in the garden and watch the sail boats cross from St Mawes and the dolphins frolic across the bay or venture out to the many local attractions, you will find that this area of Cornwall has everything you would look for in a holiday.

The house sleeps up to 12 people in 6 double bedrooms comfortably. There are panoramic views from each of the main rooms and bedrooms and there is a large south facing slate terrace outside, with a lovely sloping grass lawn facing out to sea. There are two en-suite bedrooms, with a further family bathroom and a downstairs shower room. The open plan sitting/dining room has a wood burning stove, a large TV with DVD player, comfortable sofas and a dining table for up to 8 people. The kitchen has another big dining table, a large Lacanche stove, dishwasher, big fridge and freezer and a separate utility area with washing machine and dryer. There is a table tennis table, lots of books and games, a trampoline and table, chairs and a BBQ for fine weather dining. There is also parking for several cars. The house works particularly well for two families wishing to holiday together.

There are over 20 beautiful gardens to visit in easy reach, water sports on the nearby beaches and coves. The Eden Project and the beaches of the north and south coast are all within a short drive. There are several golf courses very close by and a great choice of restaurants and good pubs including the Ferryboat Inn at the Helford Passage which you can walk to via the coastal path. This is a fabulous holiday home for all of the family.

There is also a private beach which can be accessed at the bottom of the garden. The path down to it is very steep and is traversed at your own risk but it is a lovely mix of sand and shingle and is perfect for rock pooling or swimming from, tide dependent.

A stunning house with amazing views in a tranquil location

  • 5 of 5

This was a Family holiday to celebrate my Husband's 70th birthday so our ages consisted of very young to more senior adults. The house was everything that we could have wished for with beautiful and spacious accommodation with plenty of activities for the younger members to keep them occupied and amused.

The sea views from the rooms were truly stunning even on days when the weather wasn't particularly kind and one could quite happily enjoy the vista whilst having a glass of wine.

The location of the house was ideal for exploring the scenic and wonderful coastline and sampling the excellent restaurants nearby such as The Ferry Boat Inn overlooking the Helford River and The Cove Restaurant with its splendid view of Maenporth Beach.

We hope to return to this lovely home for a longer period next year when we can visit the places we were unable to fit in to our seven days at Kinvara.

Private beach, gorgeous ocean views & comfy living

  • 5 of 5

We had 4 adults and 5 kids staying and it was a very comfy and lovely house. It had everything that we needed, including stacks of DVD's to watch, stocked pantry, a selection of wetsuits (although we had our own) table tennis in the garage and a private beach....oh, and a bottle of bubbly greeting us in the fridge. The kids loved "coasteering" and "Gully Jumping" into the water. We were there during Falmouth week and had sailing and red arrows displays each day. Would love to have stayed longer.

An amazing place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Kinvara definitely deserves 5 stars. The description of 180 degree views of the sea doesn't prepare you for the absolutely stunning views in all weathers which took our breath away.

Prior to arrival we were provided with clear instructions for accessing the property and the facilities were excellent clean and well maintained. Although the house was exceptionally spacious it felt like a home and was children friendly with plenty of games and other activities provided.

We stayed here to celebrate a special birthday and retirement and shared a very happy time with family and friends. Kinvara made it an all the more special occasion.

We would recommend it as a fantastic place to stay with all the surrounding places to visit, such as the Eden Project, St Ives, catching the ferry from Falmouth to St Mawes.

An outstanding house in a sensational location

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful, spacious property, comfortable and well-appointed. It would be lovely to stay in wherever it was located, but becomes extra memorable when you see the view. Truly spectacular, we will be talking about it for years to come!

Great house in lovely location

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful house with plenty of room in a lovely location. Very comfortable house. The views are amazing and we all spent a long time sitting in the garden just looking out to sea. The bluebells were out when we were there which made it even prettier. The owners were a pleasure to deal with. Would recommend this to anyone.

Fantastic views and location, beautiful house.

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic views and a beautiful house. Spacious rooms, most with an uninterrupted view of the sea. Plenty of room for all 12 of us and a well equipped kitchen too. All that was needed for a wonderful holiday was available. We could have spent all day relaxing on the terrace just looking at the views but the temptation of all the local attractions meant there was little time for view gazing! The owners (and their associated staff) were very friendly and helpful.

I would highly recommend this house to friends and family.

Maenporth Beach is within easy walking distance of the house. There is a café there serving sandwiches and cakes and a very safe bay for children to swim and paddle. There is also one of the best restaurants in the area just next to the beach which serves wonderful lunches and dinners.

Swanpool Beach is a short drive away and there is a very good sailing/water sport activity centre there allowing you to rent kayaks, canoes, paddle boards etc and also book sailing/canoeing lessons for all ages or activity days for the children.

Falmouth has a multi-screen cinema, a bowling alley and a great swimming pool/gym complex for rainy days. Pendennis Castle is well worth a visit as is the Maritime Museum. You can book a sea trip with Orca sea safaris to tour the harbour and nearby bays, often seeing seals and sea-birds and if you are lucky dolphins and basking sharks. You can also take organised boat trips up the River Fal, over to St Mawes or the Helford Passage from the harbour in Falmouth. In addition, there are lots of nice shops, art galleries and cafes/restaurants in the town making it a fun place to wander.

Gardens – Within a very short distance there are the beautiful sub-tropical gardens of Trebah, Glendurgan and Carwinion (which does serve the best cream tea in the world!)

Coastal walks - The Coastal Path passes right at the bottom of the garden. You can walk either left towards Maenporth and Swanpool beaches and into Falmouth or right towards the Helford Passage and, if you are keen walker an hour and 30mins of breath taking coastal views, to the Ferryboat Inn, a wonderful foodie pub set on a sand/shingle beach with a ferry across the Helford Passage. Here you can also hire boats to potter around the creeks leading off the Helford Passage, which is a lovely way to spend a couple of hours. There are also lots of rock pools accessible from the coastal path for kids to explore at low-tide.

Surfing – can be done mainly on the North coast beaches, nearest of which are about 45minute drive away. We particularly like Gwithian beach with its fantastic National Trust café and its beautiful light house. You can easily hire wetsuits etc and organise lessons. Newquay beaches are also within the 45minute drive time.

Horse riding – there is a lovely riding school at Bosvathick Farm near Constantine just a few miles away.

Historic mines - Poldark Mine is a fun day out for the kids. Take a tour of the mine and then pan for real gems!
