Casa Dora is truly a "home" in Rome. Bruno has made every effort to create a comfortable , clean and welcoming flat with all the amenities a visitor could need. My husband , sister and I spent a marvelous 12 days enjoying the flat - especially the location - we love to stay in the Prati/Vatican district - and this flat is located such that you are in a neighbourhood not a tourist district - but close to everything you need. Great grocery stores are steps away, ,markets nearby. Buses and metro within walking distance and of course Rome around every corner. Bruno was an excellent host, quickly answering email inquiries before we arrived and following up with us when we were there to make sure our visit was going well.
We will be back next fall and plan on coming home to Casa Dora again.
Although we have used VRBO for vacations in the US for many years, this is the first time that we booked VRBO accommodations in Europe. We were delighted with the bright, spacious apartment and with the location so close to all of the historic sites in Rome, but so convenient also for shopping and dining. We were able to walk to all of the places that we wanted to visit during our five days in Rome. Bruno Tocci is a most gracious host, adding that personal touch to our stay, making us feel more like family friends than like renters. We hope that this apartment will be available for our next trip to Rome!
We (family of 5) stayed at this apartment for the final two nights of our Italy trip last week as we wrapped our trip up in the city of Rome. The apartment was just like the pictures, big, sunny, with high ceilings. It had all the extra stuff you might need like extra pillows, blankets, full kitchen with utensils, spices etc.. The location was within walking distance to the Vatican (15 mins) and to a metro station (10 mins). There was a grocery store just around the corner as well as an ATM. It is not in the "main" part of the city near the coliseum and roman ruins, but in a nice area still and we had a great time. Bruno was an excellent host, easy to work with and arranged a good transport to the airport for us. We would come back to this apartment!
This was my second time renting an apartment in Italy through VRBO.
After narrowing my search (needed 2 bedrooms and bathrooms and wanted the Vatican area) I read all the reviews and decided on this one.
It was just perfect for my friend and myself.
Bruno the owner was great to work with ... paid my deposit on PayPal.
Arrived in Rome via the train ... got to the apartment around 7PM.
Bruno greeted us with a big smile and showed us around the apartment.
Suggested a couple of restaurants for us. There is a full service grocery store 2 minutes from the apartment. After a trip to stock up on wine, water and munchies - we were set!
Suggestion ... take your own shopping bags especially if you are getting lots of wine :)!
Bruno had some fruit and sparkling wine. Full kitchen with everything you need.
We stayed in 2 nights and cooked - as we had early appointments for our tours.
It's a 5 minute walk to St Peters Square and the Vatican.
Bruno also arranged a driver for us - had a Food Tour and then to take us to the airport.
Apartment was absolutely spotless.
Thank you again Bruno for all of your help and being the most gracious host!
Our stay was wonderful. There were 5 of us. Mr.Bruno is a generous, cheerful, helpful host, that made our stay comfortable, easy and special. The apartment is so clean, and pleasant. Yes, you are only minutes away from everything you need, and the walk is enjoyable, with gelato stands along different routes! I highly recommend this apartment and owner.
My husband and I stayed in this apartment the entire two weeks we were in Rome. It is a large and open stylish apartment with windows that gleam with the romantic sunshine of Rome. You are within a 15 minute walk to the Vatican and St. Angelo Castle. The metro system is easily reached within a 15 minute walk. There are many restaurants, coffee shops, pastry shops, clothes shops and wonderful markets just outside your door. This apartment has everything you need as if you were still at home. It was wonderful to come back here after a long day of site seeing. You can feel very safe in this neighborhood. Bruno is very accommodating and gracious. He even had a bowl of fresh fruit on the dining table upon our arrival. You will not find a better location and apartment for your money. This was our second trip to Rome and we will surely stay here again and recommend this apartment to anyone we know who is considering traveling to Rome.
The apartment is located in the Prati area near St. Peter's and the Vatican Museums and Castel Sant'Angelo.
The apartment is easily accessible by subway line A and the area is served by many bus.
The district is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Rome, there are many shops and supermarkets.
