A *PET FRIENDLY* fully furnished, Folly Beach vacation home that's close to everything on the beach! Ocean is directly across the street - convenient access. Only 2 blocks to Folly Beach's shops, restaurants and pier. The home was specifically designed for your vacation with a vaulted great room, elevator, friendly kitchen and 4 sets of French doors spanning the front of home to maximize the view. Front master bedroom and loft have ocean views. Large front covered porch with hammock, BBQ & patio furniture. Sundeck for private sunbathing.

This elevated home has a large fenced back yard that is perfect for pets. (Our Great Dane and his playmate visit in the off season and they love it!).

Why this home over others at Folly Beach?: This home was specifically designed for your vacation! The owner chose the lot and house plan with your family in mind. It's on the West side of Folly Beach where there's less traffic and noise, but only 2 1/2 blocks - easy walking distance - to the restaurants, shops, pier, etc., on Center Street. The home is 2nd row with direct access to the beach. We are PET FRIENDLY and have an ELEVATOR (great for easy unpacking and settling in after a long trip - or for any guest not able to climb stairs) and a fenced in back yard. The home is also great for anyone using a wheel chair, with extra wide doors to one master bedroom, bathroom and shower. And , unlike front beach and most 2nd row homes on Folly, this home has wonderful parking. There is room for 3 cars under the home and room for 5 more cars on the driveways. Also unusual for a Folly vacation rental is the fenced in back yard. It's shaded by the house - a great place for everyone to relax out of direct sunlight.

Sunbathing with sun burnt friends? You'll love our combination sun deck and covered porch. It's large enough to spread out and get just the right tan. And the trees surrounding it add some nice privacy from nearby homes. For guests who had a little too much sun the day before, the covered part of the deck provides welcome relief. Hang out on the patio furniture or in the hammock and recuperate without missing any of the conversation!

Why Misti and Robert Melton chose Charleston Area

The home is on the less traveled (west) end of Folly Beach and is directly across from the ocean, with public beach facilities and a handicapped public beach access. It is also just 2 1/2 blocks from Center Street and the Folly Beach Pier, which is a perfect walking distance from the home. Out of range of nightclub music yet close enough to easily walk back and forth to the home as often as guests like.

What makes this house unique

This is an elevated home with an elevator and a fenced in back yard. Pet friendly, well cared for and with a sundeck for sun lovers and a covered porch and hammock for friends and relatives who'd prefer shade. With one of the few 'street to street' driveways on the island, there's plenty of off street parking under and behind the home, which is at a premium on Folly Beach. All this at about 1/2 the price of an ocean front home; this home is a great deal!

Main floor: 4 queens; loft: 4 twins. Elevator, outdoor shower, covered porch and large sun deck with ocean view and hammock, direct access to ocean. Great parking! One of the FEW homes on Folly Beach with a driveway that connects the front and back entrances to the lot. You can pull under the home from the ocean side and drive out through the back of the property. Much easier for several cars to park, come and go without other guests having to move vehicles to allow people to leave. Note: the BBQ is fueled by a propane tank and if it empties during your stay, guests should exchange it for a full tank at the gas station on Center Street, Folly Beach. The cost is approximately $16.00.

Perfect Layout

The house was well equipped, clean, and most importantly well laid out to accommodate our 3 generation family. The fenced in yard was great for the dogs, although if you have a digger dog they may find it easy to escape as the soil is very sandy. The porch was fantastic. The road was a bit too busy for my taste, but I am a bit of a hermit.

Celebrating 60 with the family

My family and I had a wonderful stay here. The location is perfect, just steps from the beach access. We were even treated to fireworks on our first night due to rescheduling of the July 4th fireworks. The layout of the house was really perfect for us since we were 4 couples. Four bedrooms each with their own sink and toilet and sharing a tub/shower between them. I think this layout would also work well for 2 families sharing the house with the loft and the bunk beds up there. We were able to walk on the beach each morning and even rented a few bikes to use during our stay. It's an easy walk to restaurants and shops, we walked to breakfast at Lost Dog twice during our stay. The only complaints I have are about the utensils in the kitchen. We were forced to improvise on measuring cups and spoons as all the sizes are not there and we really could have used a pair of scissors. We looked high and low and could not find any. Other than a fresh coat of paint, the house doesn't need a thing. We had so much room to spread out even with the dogs.

The people renting next door even asked about the house and were impressed with the amount of room we had.

It was a perfect week with family celebrating my 60th birthday.

Owner's Response: This is great feedback! We plan to update the utensils this week so that there are new measuring cups, spoons and a pair of scissors. We also plan to repaint the interior in Nov. The home definitely is just the right size for one or two families. We're so glad it was a great experience.

Great location!

We enjoyed our week at Folly. This property works for us because we have a family member in a motorized wheelchair. The bathroom and door frames accommodated his chair and the shower worked out for him. The ramp across the dune to the beach is just across the street and downtown is only a couple of blocks. We will look forward to coming back some day. I do wish Folly would build some sidewalks to make walking safer.

Great vacation!!!!

Loved this property! It had everything we needed and then some for a great week at Folly Beach. A well stocked kitchen, both stylish and comfortable decor throughout made us feel right at home. The close beach access was great for vacationing with a baby and trips back to the house. The owners were wonderful to work with and we would definitely go back!

Dog friendly, comfortable and PERFECT Location!!!

We stayed with 7 adults and 3 dogs for a week in April. The floor plan is perfect for hanging out, one large open space with everyone having their own rooms. Another perk is everyone having their own toilet for each bedroom with a shared shower. All the beds were comfortable and each room had a fan. The location was perfect!!! Center St. gets a bit wild, so it's nice to be far enough away but still walking distance to all the fun. Proximity to beach was perfect! I'd suggest trimming some of the front trees so you could actually see the ocean view and have a bit more sun. We would definitely stay at this property again!
