About Heather Bailey

I originally moved to Savannah in 2000 ago as a design professor for SCAD and I immediately fell in love with the beauty, charm and nuances of this gem of a city. I yearned for a new adventure so I left teaching and purchased the home and spent over 2 years designing and creating the perfect “home away from home!”

Heather Bailey purchased this condo in 2005

Why Heather Bailey chose Savannah

This home is centrally located and sits under the canopy of a beautiful Live Oak tree; I fell in love from the first moment I entered the door and realized she had retained most of the original details from from the 1880's. Kept it historic, but also updated it in a stylish yet appropriate way. She really came to life after her renovation and now it allows me to share her and beautiful Savannah with guests from all over the globe.

I also love the neighborhood feel yet, so close to restaurants and shopping in the historic district.

What makes this condo unique

Unlike other owners or management companies, we offer a very personal touch which includes meeting all our guests at the home for check-in, and providing customized walking maps with points of interests and recommended tours, shopping, and restaurants. I pride myself on offering extremely personalized service, realizing that each and every guest and their visit is special. Since we live locally in Savannah, we are available anytime both before and during your stay for any questions or assistance needed.

I look forward to hosting you at the Savannah Pied-a-terre, and showing you why Savannah is considered the Hostess City of the South!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Heather, WOW, we truly enjoyed your beautiful home – the décor was perfect and you have everything anyone would need. The location is great and we will be definitely coming back! Savannah is a fun, fun place and we made some fabulous “sisters weekend” memories. Thanks for the great map (it was our lifesaver)! We really appreciate all your special touches to make it so special for us!

We couldn't have been happier with our stay in this comfortable apartment. It was clean, comfortable and included all the convieniences we needed. The location was perfect, an easy walk to everywhere we wanted to go. We will definitely stay here again on future visits.

So glad we chose this place!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful home-away-from home during our great trip to Savannah! The charm of the old with the convenience of the contemporary. It's also within an easy walk of anywhere you want to go in the historic district. And can we say easy parking? (I listened to friends complain about $25 a night parking fees at their hotel...) All this speaks to the physical pleasures of this home, but what made it even more fun was Heather's list of favorite restaurants and adventures. We started by following her recommendation for an architectural walking tour led by Dirk Hardison (savannahrambles.com), and it proved to be an excellent introduction to the city, giving us an historical and architectural context for enjoying the rest of the week. From there we chose most all our restaurants from her list, and she steered us well, from The Public to Noble Fare to Green Truck Pub. All in all, highly recommended.

Charming, maybe, but not luxurious

  • 3 of 5

Needs a thorough cleaning and paint. Kitchen stocked well enough with dishes, pots and pans for a simple meal and breakfast. Butcher Shop around the corner was really good for eating and buying a few groceries. A good location if you aren't as particular as I am.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review - as a property owner I strive hard to be sure each of my guest's experience exceeds expectations - hence the more than 50 five star reviews! Since I see the property almost daily sometimes it takes a fresh eye to observe any needed updates. Thank you for letting me know that I may need to have some areas repainted; she is a charming historic home built in 1880 and like a grand lady, she does need a little extra TLC at times! Staying in a true historic home will offer a unique experience and be much different than a hotel or newer home. I am happy you found the kitchen so well stocked as we do try to provide many extras not offered in other vacation homes. Thank you again for staying with us!

Heather's pied a terre is the perfect spot to enjoy Savannah. It is centrally located in the Historic District making the entire area easily accessible on foot. The apartment is spacious, clean and provides everything needed for a short or long stay. Heather met us at the property and gave us a thorough orientation to the apartment and the area. We felt very grounded from the moment we arrived. Heather also provides recommendations on restaurants, tours, etc

which we found very helpful. Thank you Heather! Becky and Dave
