Terry & Linda Johnson are lifetime residents of the State of Washington. We have enjoyed vacationing in Maui for more than thirty years.
Linda purchased this condo in 1998
We have vacationed on several of the Hawaiian Islands and various areas of Maui and find Napili Bay to be the best !
Location, location, location ...
Spectacular sunsets, onsight dining and Napili Bay is an all white sandy beach, literally steps away.
My husband and I just had a quick visit to H-264. We had a great experience. Our biggest complaint is that we didn't have more time to spend in the condo. Some great things about the condo: We arrived after midnight yet had no problem checking in. Close to parking lot. Great view of the ocean. Great view of the line at Gazebo so you know when to head down there to beat the rush! Great patio to enjoy Gazebo breakfast to-go in case you don't beat the line :) Great beach gear (chairs, umbrella, snorkel, towels, etc). Great location, so close to Napili beach for beach day, Napili cove for snorkeling with turtles, Napili market for anything you need!
The ONLY thing, and this is true of pretty much anywhere in Hawaii, if you're a light sleeper bring ear plugs. Since windows are primarily used for cooling, you can hear sounds from outside pretty easily (mostly the beautiful but LOUD birds), so it's a little noisy at night and early mornings.
But we loved this place and would stay here again. In fact, we had friends staying a few resorts down the road and they all saw our place and much preferred our location to their own.
Nothing but great things to say about H-264. The owners were exceedingly helpful and accommodating with our very last-minute reservation request. They clearly have taken pride in furnishing and decorating their condo. The unit is on the 2nd floor (of 2) with nice high vaulted ceilings, and overhead fans in the bedroom and living room. No AC but between the fans and the breeze that flows from the Lanai through to the bedroom windows being hot was never a problem during our stay. There is a nice modern TV with cable and an internet-app equipped bluray (Netflix, Hulu, etc. capable), and good speed wifi for guest use as well.
There is no daily maid service which was no problem for us, but if you want you can arrange something with their housekeeper at your expense, or do sheets/towels on with the laundry machines on the premises of the complex.
There is a small safe located in the bathroom as well, with an old-school key lock.
The Napili Shores Resort is in a great location, and as others have mentioned they have a dizzying array of beach equipment to make the most of your stay - I counted at least 4 Tommy-Bahama-style backpack beach chairs, 2 bodyboards, 2 beach umbrellas, 2 pairs of snorkels/masks/fins, and a pair of beach towels.
The Gazeebo is of course on site with the property as well - though their view and service is great I highly recommend skipping the line and calling for pickup - usually only 10-15 minutes even when busy.
Aside from the I-building that is directly parallel to the shoreline, the H-building is the next closest. The parking lot does not extend behind it like the other units but just as conveniently ends right at its edge (where one of the two stairwells is), so it's just as convenient as any other building for temporarily parking and unloading/loading your luggage and I think the H-264 unit is probably one of the quieter ones as a result of no cars right behind it as well as being on the 2nd floor and also in the center of the building (with the stairwells on the ends of the building).
Very comfortable furnishings; well appointed kitchen. Felt right at home in the décor. Excellent location on the property - close to pool without being noisy; close to the BBQs; fun view of the ocean from the second floor lanai, and quick access to the beach; sunshine passes quickly across the lanai each morning so rest of time not hot and with a very nice breeze. Great parking. Property beautifully landscaped and well maintained. Each unit quiet and private. Only drawback - and it was easily fixed - is that the owners have left out so many knickknacks (some of which are old and tired) that we had to move a lot of them in order to put out our own items such as on the bathroom counter or the coffee table. We would absolutely return should we visit Maui again.
My husband and I had a fantastic anniversary week at Napili Shores. We love the location of the resort and Linda and Terry's condo. It is an older resort, but extremely well maintained. The unit is well stocked with everything you need in the kitchen along with recreation items like snorkel sets, beach chairs and mats. The view of the ocean from the deck is so beautiful and relaxing.
My favorite activity during our stay was swimming with the sea turtles in Honokeana Cove right next to Napili Bay. The snorkeling over the coral beds in Napili Bay was good also - lots of colorful fish there.
We sure hope to return to this very special piece of paradise!!
This resort, and in particular this condo is perfect. The apartment is tastefully decorated, well equipped, and very clean. Compared to other units we checked out, it is much nicer. The lanai has a wonderful view of the ocean, beach, and grounds. We were surprised to find all the beach equipment in a corner of the lanai. There are even beach towels in the closet!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the not-too-distant future.
Thank you Linda and Terry for making this piece of 'Paradise' available.
This condo didn't disappoint! It had everything we needed for our stay including lots of beach provisions (chairs, umbrellas, mats, snorkel gear, etc...). We were able to see a few other condos in Napili Shores (that friends were staying in) and this condo has been updated and well maintained. Plus it is so close to the beach with a beautiful view of the water. The owners were great to work with and we would definitely recommend H264 to anyone visiting Napili
Wildlife Viewing (Humpback whales arrive in December and stay until April).
