Great stay at this cape home!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay here with our 2 kids & young dog. The house was everything we needed and more. The fenced in yard made it easy to let the dog our for exercise; kids loved the board games that we found in the closets. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, dishes, spices, condiments, etc ...

we were walking distance to a great (dog) pond, and in a great spot to explore the cape. we highly recommend this house!

perfect cozy little retreat

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect little house for us. Always clean and ready for us. We visit Cape Cod in the off season so we can bring our 2 Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers with us. The yard is fenced so they have the opportunity to run off leash and the neighborhood is perfect for long dog walks. The dogs are also able to run off leash on most beaches (like Mayflower) in the off season as well. The house is a great location to enjoy the Cape to its fullest. Easy rides to Ptown, Orleans, Chatham, Harwich and all the other towns in between. Cable and wifi are included and the porch is great for reading. This was our 2nd stay and we are looking forward to our 3rd stay in September 2014. Paula has made some great suggestions on restaurants (Scargo Cafe, Ocean House) fishing and hiking areas. I have recommended this home already to many friends and family.

Peace

  • 4 of 5

My family had a truly remarkable time. Everything was so enjoyable. I look forward to visiting again, especially now that I am familiar with some of the local attractractions. The fenced in yard was ideal for pets and our little family members as well. I didn't want to leave.

Vacation Stolen

  • 1 of 5

We arrived at this house and left 4 hours later. The couch was broken, there were mice and it was not at all as advertised.

Owner's Response: Unfortunate libel, when the woman arrived at 1 pm, (two hours ahead of check in time) my caretaker was at the property gluing a leg on the sofa that the prior tenant had informed me had broken the evening before. It was completely repaired prior to her rental. At 10:30 pm, she called me saying she saw a mouse and was vacating immediately. She phoned me very early the next day and told me she had secured another rental and wanted a refund. I contacted both prior renters and asked about any mouse activity and they reported that there was none. I offered her a refund for the remainder of the week and she refused it and sued in small claims court and lost. Only then, did she write this review in response. I hope you can look past it and at the 9 prior reviews the rental has received. More good reviews to come, I am very sure!

Cozy & Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Paula's home last summer & we were very comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked and the beds are comfortable. The home is clean & well cared for. Paula was very easy to deal with. It is in a safe & quiet neighborhood that for our needs was in the middle of every place we wanted to visit. We were very happy with our stay and wish could go back this summer!

Dog Friendly and Comfortable

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed this house from the fenced in yard, bright sun porch, and deck. We were close to the bike path and found that Rte 6 and 6A were conveniently accessible. It was a 20 min ride to the ferries in Hyannis. Provincetown was a quick 45 mins away. Chatham shopping and beaches was also about 20 mins away or less. Our stay coincided with Hurricane Irene and although we lost power for a couple of days, we had plenty of hot water. The place was spotless when we arrived. Paula, the owner, recommended The Red Cottage for breakfast and lunch and we are hooked. We very much enjoyed the Old Yarmouth Inn for dinner. Be sure to ask the owner of the inn about her experiences with a ghost. Our only regret is that we never got to Flax Pond with our dogs. Dennis beaches were 10 mins away. Make sure you go to the Scargo Tower with binoculars and see Provincetown and Sandwich at the same time. If you are looking to walk to the beach, then this is not your place but if you want to take your dog to a comfortable, clean and convenient place, this is it. I guess the only reason we left out 1 star is for the distance to the ocean, but again, not a problem for most.
