Very clean and comfortable and Denise is very friendly and helpful. The location very good for local shops and easy to get into town. The only problem for us were the stairs that are a bit steep but we managed alright and we're an elderly couple. The washing machine and dryer were a godsend after several days traveling . Thank you for everything.
Spare but very comfortable. Four narrow flights of stairs, as is typical of Amsterdam. Just a few blocks from the tram. Owners notes that are provided when you arrive are very helpful. Highly endorse their recommendation of Restaurante Toscannini!
This property has a great location, close to public transportation and lots of nice restaurants. The bed is comfortable, however in my opinion that's where the comfort ends. There seems to be some things missing from the apartment. It felt barebones to us, not cozy at all. No pillows on the couch. There were extra pillows for the bed, but no pillowcases for them. In the kitchen, There was a coffee pot, but only Whole coffee beans, with no way to grind them. Salt but no sugar for coffee. In order to eat or drink anything, EVERYTHING must be purchased by the renter. Which is fine. That's what we did. It just feels like the price charged for the apartment didn't match the amenities that were available, or rather unavailable. When we noticed that there was not even matches to light the stove, the owner replied "yes, we ran out of matches. You'll have to buy some." All in all, if you just need a bed and to be close to town, this is the place. But if you're looking for a comfortable, cozy, homey spot, this isn't for you.
We had a great stay in this apartment! We were there for 6 nights and it served our purposes perfectly, and is so much better than staying in a hotel. Pictures and listing are as advertised, and it was clean upon arrival.
The neighborhood itself is [mostly] quiet (Fri and Sat night there were some gatherings we could hear in the courtyard, but we sleep with ear plugs when we travel, so it wasn't a problem for us - they also seemed to wind down at a reasonable hour). It's very close to Leidseplein, and several tram stops to take you where ever else you want to go. There are also plenty of restaurants and cafe's just around the corner with good food and drinks that aren't touristy. We also used some of Denise's restaurant recommendations as well, which were great.
Denise was a wonderful host, and very accommodating about our arrival time, and I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone looking for something outside City Centre, but still within the thick of the city!
As a side note: like most Amsterdam apartments, this is on the third level of a building with very narrow and very steep stairs, so if you are not able bodied, I wouldn't recommend it, but for anyone that's navigated Amsterdam stairwells successfully before, you'll be fine!
The apartment is very clean and comfortable. the owner, Pieter, was very nice.
the location is great, so we definitely would stay there again.
many thanks !!
Alex and Alla.
Nice and quick communication befor we rented the flat. The flat is well and safe located, very clean and modern furnished (looks like the photos). The owners are very friendly, answered all the questions about the flat, parking, etc and was accessible by phone the whole stay. They prepared a nice book with tips for visiting the city like good restaurants and bars, nice places to see, where to book boats and other stuff. We already recommanded the flat to our friends :)
Thank you for the nice stay! Anna P.
