About Emma Sheldrake
We are a family of four - mum, dad, daughter and son and have been holidaying in La Manga for over 20 years. This is our home-from-home. We live in Suffolk back in the UK and try to spend as much time is Spain as we can, but now the children are older we have less family holidays than we used too and tend to visit out of season all together.
Emma Sheldrake purchased this Bungalow in 2000
Why Emma Sheldrake chose Atamaría
We fell in love with the Golf Bungalows the first time we stayed. We used to stay in El Racho or the hotel, but the Golf Bungalows is perfect for us. We're right on the South Golf Course which is fabulous. And what a view! The Bungalow is easily accessible to the whole Club yet we feel so peaceful and happy here. Our neighbours are friendly, some have pets and live here year-round. They're always happy to help holiday makers.

Not fully wheelchair accessible
Booked property as it stated the property was wheelchair accessible. My husband is wheelchair dependent .Managed to negotiate slopes up into golf bungalow and entry while using wheelchair . Plenty of room in lounge and dining area. Access into the bedroom whilst in the wheelchair was difficult due to the width of the door and the door stopper. Approximate measurement of this doorway was 27 inches wide and standard width for wheelchair access is 29.5 inches. In the bedroom was a double bed and a single bed giving limited space to manoeuvre a wheelchair. The bathroom was off the bedroom , door width into bathroom was approximately 23 inches hence impossible to access whilst in a wheelchair .
The bath tub , toilet and shower had no grab rails. There was a corner shower , with a step into it with a folding shower seat. Entry into the shower was extremely difficult even with assistance as the shower enclosure opening was narrow. My husband has very limited ability to weightbear on crutches and hence the lack of accessible facilities caused us problems throughout our stay.
This property was not wheelchair accessible my husband and I were very disappointed and we will not be recommending this property to other wheelchair users. In this day and age a property that is advertised as wheelchair accessible should meet the needs of the wheelchair user , especially their personal needs e.g. Bathroom and toilet access.
I feel that we should be compensated for the inconvenience that has been caused.
I would be very grateful if this could be looked into asap so that others in our situation do not have the same problems as we have experienced and that the statement that this property is wheelchair accessible be removed from your site. Thank you
Ubicación perfecta para jugar al golf
Es la segunda vez que visitamos el 130 golf bungalow
With over 40 years of history, the sporting facilities at La Manga Club are unrivalled.
Families: La Manga Club is great for children and families. There are plenty of activities and chances to make new friends in the Junior clubs organised by Academy at La Manga Club.
At Torrevieja, approximately 60 km from the resort, there is a water park. A little further afield, in Elche (80 km), there is a River Safari Park. At Lorca (70 km), the medieval castle has been fully restored and includes a host of themed and interactive exhibitions.
Culture & Leisure
In La Manga Club and the Region of Murcia there are hundreds of things to do and thousands of years of history to discover. The little-known cities of Cartagena, Murcia and Lorca are all within easy reach of the resort and offer a treasure trove of history and culture. Throughout the year and especially during the summer months, the region comes alive with music festivals for all tastes – jazz, flamenco, classical, world music. It is also fast establishing a reputation for itself as one of Spain’s leading contemporary art destinations. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, one of the most enjoyable ways to make the most of the great Costa Cálida weather is to explore the resort itself and the beautiful local countryside - whether by mountain bike, foot, horseback, boat or car. Local street markets are great for picking up bargains, as are the shopping malls in Cartagena and Murcia, whilst the region’s craft centres feature work by talented local artisans. Or there are the local beaches – La Cala on site and if you branch out a little further you’ll find the beautiful beaches along La Manga Strip.
Golf: With a choice of 3 superb, 18-hole championship courses, each with its own unique style and terrain, a Par 47 course and first-class practice facilities, there is something to challenge you, whatever your age and or ability.
Tennis: Located at heart of La Manga Club resort, the internationally renowned Tennis Centre is one of Europe's finest outdoor facilities. The wonderful climate and floodlit courts mean that you can enjoy a match all year round. There are 28 tennis courts to choose from, including 20 clay courts, 4 hard courts, 4 artificial grass courts and 2 paddle tennis courts. In addition there are squash courts, a pro shop, equipment hire services, racket service centre, fitness centre and numerous other services. Beginners and experienced players can both enjoy these facilities
Football: Committed to being the best Football training centre and tournament venue for professional clubs in Europe, La Manga Club hosts 8 football pitches. Academy courses are provided throughout the season for budding players to pay on the same pitches as their idols.
Cricket: It is now possible to play cricket at Europe's leading sports and leisure resort, in sunny south-eastern Spain, since the addition of top quality cricket facilities to La Manga Club's already impressive portfolio of sporting facilities. Road/Mountain Biking: Cycling is one of the healthiest and most exciting ways to discover the resort and its surroundings. The terrain varies from fairly easy roads with some hills within La Manga Club or the miles of flat, easy routes around the Mar Menor, to challenging off-road routes and some serious gradients in the hills surrounding the resort.
Water: It is precisely when it comes to water sports that the Region of Murcia’s lovely weather is most appreciated. With 252km of coast, 2 seas (the Mediterranean & Mar Menor), more than 3000 hours of sun a year and mild temperatures, the region is the ideal destination – year round. Every bit as exciting is the experience that awaits in the depths of the Costa Cálida’s underwater world, which is ideal for scuba diving and snorkelling. There are numerous diving schools in the area.Inland, in the interior of the region, the River Segura and various reservoirs provide the setting for fresh water sports such as river rafting, canoeing, fishing and more.
Land: Hill walking, trekking or mountain biking amid stunning Mediterranean landscapes are all available on the outskirts of La Manga Club. Further afield, elsewhere in the Region of Murcia the options include rock climbing, caving and a network of recreational routes and long-distance footpaths.
Air: Paragliding, hang-gliding and zip wiring are yet more of the options this region offers.
