4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, sleeps 14
We purchased this lake home to enjoy the water for recreation and fishing. We also farm so this is our getaway. We are offering it to you as your personal getaway on the dates we cannot be there.
Owner purchased this House in 2005
Why Owner chose Elysian
We chose this location because it is the cleanest, deepest Lake in southern MN. With depths up to 60 feet and clarity that will rival any Northern lake, we enjoy this spring fed lake for its 900 acres.
What makes this House unique
Our home is tucked in and makes you feel like you have that up North feel. With our large multiple decks, there is room for one on one conversations or large groups to gather.

So fun having time with family in such a beautiful setting! We all had a great time.
Wonderful lake house!
Daria was a great host. Really nice accommodations for four couples. Lots of privacy and great living space. The power, and water, went out for an extended time but Daria kept us informed and had plenty of candles. Great views! Enjoyed the fire pit. Men liked the projector tv and seating for Saturday football. Beautiful lake, friendly neighbors and town. The Landing in Madison Lake was a great place for meals and charging phones during outage. Thanks for a wonderful weekend full of memories!
This is an absolutely beautiful place to stay. From the first contact until we left Daria was very quick to answer any and all questions we had. We were met on arrival, and had a tour of the house. We had plenty of room for 7 adults and 8 children to spread out, and have fun.
The kitchen was very well stocked with almost any type of thing you would need to make a meal. We found it needed some maintenance as we had issues with the faucet, and the oven on the stove quit working 5 days into our stay, but when you travel it is always an adventure. We would have liked to have had more cabinet space to put our groceries away, but I do realize that this is their home and that they keep their own personal things there locked up.
The bedrooms were very large and spacious. The beds were comfortable. With all the bathrooms it made it easy for all of us to take showers, and no one ever ran out of hot water. The supply of paper products was generous, and we never ran out.
Much fun was had by fishing off the dock, swimming, and hanging out on the beautiful deck. The deck was very large with plenty of seating for everyone. We did catch and release for fishing, because there really wasn't a place to clean the fish, and burying the byproducts in the woods was something we didn't want to deal with. We enjoyed the fire pit, and making s'mores. We brought yard games, and a small blow up pool for the tiny ones in our group and everybody had a great time.
The grandchildren enjoyed playing games at the game table upstairs, and the views from there were incredible.
If you have disability issues this house has a lot of stairs. We also couldn't use any of the patio doors to go to the patio except for the one in the lowest level, so going outside and around the house to get to the deck was inconvenient.
This is a beautiful home, that needs just a few maintenance issues fixed. I know it is hard to keep up with them when you have people coming and going all the time. I am sure they will be addressed when they can schedule them in, and we would definitely stay here again if we are looking to stay in the area once more.
Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us. We hope to be back again one day!
Very nice lake house
Had a great time on a Lake Francis and the home was clean and very nice
Great time had by all
Beautiful house located on Lake Francis. We stayed June 22-29, 2018. It was roomy and great family time was spent on the deck and lake. Kids ages 13 to 60 enjoyed the swimming and canoeing. The pictures on the website show a raft but there was none. The kitchen had a good supply of dishes, cookware, towels and wash cloths. The dining area allowed the entire family to gather around the table while enjoying the view. The upper level was gorgeous and perfect for playing games. The location is very close to the Sakatah Singing Hills state bike trail, which stretches from Faribault to Mankato. We were disappointed with the state of repairs in the house. The kitchen faucet was loose, a cupboard door was on one hinge and fell off, the toe kick under the stove was broken off and was very dirty under the stove, a deck door was unusable, and one of the twin beds was broken. While I understand that this is personal property and parts of the house are locked off from renters, we were disappointed with how many kitchen cupboards were locked so had to store items on the counter top. The one refrigerator is small so keep that in mind if you plan on staying for a full week. The upstairs dry bar had opened soda bottles that were years old and unopened cans that were long expired. In spite of these things, the family had a great time. We thank the Starnsky’s for allowing us to enjoy their lake home and adding happy family memories.
Great house for a large group -- family reunion
We were celebrated our youngest child's college graduation with three generations of family staying at the house. Even though it was raining we had a great BBQ after graduation and were able to have fun with friends and family. The house is large enough to really spread out with great areas for entertaining, playing games, cooking, etc.
The deck and outdoor area with fire pit, games and paddle boards made it easy to entertain everyone in our group. We would definitely rent this place again if we find ourselves in Minnesota.
Thank you Daria and Reed!
